No Show(Star Girl)

He supposed he could understand the dad thing, thats what happens when you run out of people to love he guessed, but Alex wasn't having that problem, seeing as how he didn't really love anyone anyways, he was pretty much a loner, but he liked it that way, alot less strings attached. He looked over to Star, who had asked if he was gonna fix that. He nodded, pulled out a first aid kit, and moved over to her side.

"Alright, gotta get some of this costume out of the way." He ripped the area around the gunshot wound a little more then it already was, making sure to be gentle, he knew gunshots hurt like a bitch, he'd been loaded with a ton of bullets sometimes, and they weren't pleasent, even for someone who healed fast like him. He applied the kit, while it wouldn't heal the wound automatically, it would be good enough to tide her over until she decided to get real medical treatment. "Alright, all patched up." He looked up at Star's face, flashing her a smile. "You feelin ok?"

Courtney watched as the man who had shot her only moments earlier now carefully tended to the wound. She winced a little and looked to the side, pretending to be scanning her surroundings. While serving with the Justice Society, Courtney had encountered an endless series of injuries..all of which got her mother and step-father pretty worked up. But that was the price you had to pay, and it all made her a stronger person anyway. When she had just started out as a hero, she may have cried about this bullet wound like a typical teenage girl, but she had changed completely from an apathetic, lazy C - student.

She looked back at her now bandaged shoulder upon Alex announcing that it was all patched up. She looked down at him and smiled. "You know, you're pretty cute...for a dangerous mercenary", she said rather quickly. Her eyes wandered across his X-shaped scars and her mind went rabid with curiosity, but she decided to save her questions for another time. "Any other plans for the day?", she prodded as she glanced around absently.

Alex had stood up and walked to the kitchen sink, washing the blood from Star's bullet wound out. He dried his hands off with a towel and then looked back at the girl as she told him he was cute, regardless of the fact that he was a dangerous mercenary. He chuckled a little, "And your pretty cute for a superhero." He'd never really had much luck with the superhero population, they never really go along well with killers.

He had walked closer to Star before had asked her question, standing only a foot or two away from her. He wondered how to respond to her question, and then he decided what to do, it was time to have a little fun. He moved so he was closer to Star, bending over and moving his face so it was right next to hers. "Guess that depends on you."

Courtney watched as the man made his way to the kitchen sink and cleaned his bloody hands. He must do that a lot, wash blood from his hands. If she looked close enough they were probably permanently stained. "Oh, thanks", she said with a tiny smile. This was one of several times he had mentioned that today, and she still hadn't gotten tired of it.

She blushed a little and stared down at the carpeted floor. As she stared down she saw Alex's boots walk near by. Her eyes slowly drifted upwards until she noticed how close he was standing. Out of sheer reflexes, she pushed herself back into the couch, her back pressing into the cushion. The man got even closer, and Star felt herself getting a little more nervous.

"Well...I...", she mumbled as his face drifted right next to hers. She flashed a nervous smile and tried her best to avoid eye contact for a few seconds before taking a deep breath. "Guess I'll just hang out here...", she answered as she draped her arms around his neck.

She still seemed to like it when he called her cute, which was normal he supposed, he hadn't met many girls that get over being complimented very fast. He grinned as he looked down at her, seeing her move farther back into the couch from reflexes, it amused him to see her do that. He could feel her getting just a little bit nervous, not that he was an empath or anything, but after doing what he did for so long, you learned how to read people, and he believed that he was pretty good at it.

He grinned down at her a little when he heard her comment. He saw her drape her arms around his neck, and he couldn't resist planting a kiss on her lips, coming up afterwards, grinning a little more. "Sounds like a good idea to me."

Courtney was feeling awfully strange at the moment. She had never really done anything like this, and she was tremendously nervous. After all, she had barely met this man and he was obviously very dangerous. She looked to the side to see her staff still leaning across the cushions of the couch. She knew that there was probably some JSA member or JL member out there looking for her after they heard about the job at the apartment complex and the now "missing" Courtney, it would only make sense. Boy would that ruin things. She imagined Hawkman busting through one of the windows, and couldn't help but giggle a little to herself.

As she peeked back up at him, having drawn her eyes away she caught him moving in towards her. She smiled brightly and closed her eyes as she prepared for the impending kiss. She kissed back happily as she felt his lips press against hers.

"Yeah...", was the only word she could get out as he pulled back up. Courtney looked up at him and smiled as she stretched her neck a bit and pulled him in for another kiss.
