No Show(Star Girl)

[Stargirl]

Courtney continued her conversation with Mister Terrific, whom had sent her on that day mission. The man on the other end drilled her with an annoying amount of questions, to which she offered a dull and dry answer. That was something she had never liked about the hero business. All the technical bits, all the non-action and glory parts.

"He shot me, by the way", she informed her leader over her communication device. Her voice was filled with agitation by this point. She finally rolled her eyes and disconnected.

She nodded at the mercenaries question. "Locking you up safe and sound", she said as she pulled her staff on him for about the millionth time that day. "Off we go to jail", she said in an overtly perky tone.

[Agent X]

Alex listend to her conversation, he didn't really have anything better to do anyways, being tied up as he was. He sighed, he had been expecting something along these lines to happen at some point, but it kind of bugged him, was he really going to spend the rest of his life in a jail cell? And if he could live as long as Wolverine, then that was alot of life to live! Maybe he would get lucky and they would sentence him with a certain amount of years, instead of life, or even worse, death row, he didn't really want to die at all.

He sighed again, hearing the agitation in her voice as she told this guy she had been shot. "Look, I'm really sorry that you got shot, in all honesty, I expected you to block the bullets anyways..." He didn't really feel that bad about it, but him shooting her had made his already crappy relationship with the girl even worse. "Hey, when you set me in the slammer, will you bring me drinks every once and a while? I hear it can get pretty boring in there."

[Stargirl]

Stargirl wasn't really paying attention the the man as she stared down at her boots. Her fists were balled up a bit and she was feeling a bit angry. She looked over at her staff and rolled her eyes. "Enough power to destroy a city in a few hours and I sill have to go through the yes sir no sir routine", she mumbled off handedly before poking the man in the back, instructing him to march in the direction of the Metropolis Prison. They could deal with the killer there.

She was really very surprised when he apologized to her. "Bad guys aren't supposed to say sorry, sweetheart", she said with a raised eyebrows. She had her fair share of experiences in getting into relationships with bad guys, and she would never get to the top like that. She stared at him for a few seconds and then sighed. "Well, I'll let these energy binds go...", she said in a voice filled with caution. "But you better not run....if you don't I'll bring you all the drinks I can."

[Agent X]

Alex knew what that was like, having to live under someone even though you knew you had so much more potential then them, it was the way things worked, they kept the better people down, so the weak could win and have everything they wanted, feeding the scraps to the dogs before feeding it to them. He knew that he was probably overdoing it a bit, but he didn't really care, it was his mind, and he could be all over the place with his imagination if he wanted to.

He was suprised as the bonds came loose, grinning a little as he flexed his arms, good to have them back in use. He didn't plan on trying anything, he doubted it would be useful anyways, this girl could fly and she was superstrong ontop of everything else, he didn't stand a really good chance in this situation. "Thanks, but lets get one thing clear. I am not a badguy, I do not do badguy stuff. I am a merc, a hired gun so to speak, and ontop of that, I don't just kill anyone, I only do the people that really derserve it. Thouse guys I was goin to ice earlier, they were in a gang, killed lots of people, and now there gonna kill lots more."

He didn't take the hero point of view, he merely said most of that to show the girl that he wasn't a badguy, and that he mostly killed scum who deserved it. "Honestly, theres other people that would be more worth your time for me." The last line was a grumble under his breath as he continued walking in the direction that the girl pointed him, this really sucked. "Whats your name anyways?"

[Stargirl]

Courtney was pleased when the man did not run. Pleased and quite surprised. She still kept her mind over what things were like and her position on the Justice Society. It was ironic that she should be the youngest and most sheltered, yet was in all likelyhood one of it's most powerful members.

She let her staff go a little lax as the man started to speak. She felt a pang of guilt as he explained his situation to her, and informed her about the men she had saved. She stopped walking and stared down at the ground for a bit. She was quite a different hero than the others. She may look cliche and a little cheesy on the outside, but on the inside was a pretty smart and dangerous young woman.

Courtney took a deep sigh as she removed the piece from her ear and stomped on it. The society already disliked her, as she often made alliances with shady characters, but that was Courtney for you.

"Stargirl", she answered, "and let's go find that gang."

[Agent X]

Alex looked up at her, so her name was Stargirl, interesting superhero name, not the coolest, but hey, not everyone could live up to the super cool names, even he had to admit that his wasn't the best in the book, but it was his, and thats what mattered. He had looked back down at the ground, assuming that she already knew his name, seeing how she hadn't asked him what it was already. He looked up at her when she said her next comment, a grin on his face, maybe he wasn't going to jail, and if he was, it wasn't happening right then, and that was good enough for him. "Alright, you got my attention."

Alex turned around and started walking towards the apartment complex again, although he knew that they would have to fly to get there fast enough. "Ok, here's the drill. Theres six guys, each of 'em have at least one gun. If we get there at the right time, they'll be on the first floor, getting ready to high tail it out'a here, so we can't waste any time. Do what you do, and I'll do what I do, sound good?"

[Stargirl]

Courtney smiled as the man grinned. She was always full of surprises like that, and it was interesting to see peoples reactions to her somewhat rash decisions."And you're Agent X", she said with a wink. She was always briefed on who she was going to go after before she went after them. She listened carefully as he began to explain their plan of action, and she almost instantly bolted into the sky after he spoke. She grabbed him in her energy emmision and dragged him along carefully but quickly. In no time at all they landed in front of the complex and Courtney could already hear the loud men making an exit. She still felt a bit nervous about the situation. She placed her hand on the mans shoulder right before she would make her entrance. "No killing...?", she said looking down at his gun. "That includes me.", she notified in a half serious tone before slamming her way through the front doors and letting off a series of star bolts.

[Agent X]

Alex let out a small whee as he took off again, bound in Stargirl's power stuff, but it wasn't so bad this time, most likely because he wasn't going to jail. He landed gently this time, preparing himself for the coming fight, it was easy to hear these guys, they weren't quiet. They were obviously an agressive bunch, and that was good, the more agressive the better. He looked over at Stargirl as she said no killing, he'd been expecting that. He chuckled a little at her next words. "That'd be to much of a waste." Adding in a wink afterwards, he was ready to go.

He charged in after her, drawing two more pistols, but this time he wasn't aiming to kill. While the guys were confused by Stargirl's sudden entrance and assalt, Alex quickly aimed and took fire on them, hitting the gun hands and legs, making sure they were down, with minimal blood loss, he may not look it, but Alex could do his job well, he was a hell've alot better marksman then Deadpool, he knew that for sure. It wouldn't take long for all these guys to come come down, infact, he wouldn't be suprised if they were all down for the count.

[Stargirl]

Right before Courtney had charged her way into the building, she had caught the mans comment. It really was a bit pitiful to see how far a bit of charm could go with the young woman. She felt a blush creep across her face as she kicked in the door. Leave it to Courtney to fall for the bad guys.

She watched as the assassing filed in behind her, guns drawn and at the ready. He was more than ready the second the door had opened, and the shooting commenced within seconds. He was an incredible shot, and Courtney had to be careful to stay out of his line up.

She peered through the gunsmoke and the chaos as best she could to see if any of the men still stood. She spotted one rather large and violent looking man as he barreled towards her, she easily flew up and avoided his thrashing, sending him tripping into a wall. She rolled her eyes as she lowered herself back down and peered over the unconsious man.

[Agent X]

Stargirl wasn't in any danger, Alex knew where his targets where, and where she was, he had made a mental note not to shoot her, and thus so, no bullets even came close to her. After he was sure that all the badguys had been dispatched, he twirled his guns around and blew the smoke coming out of each barrel, it was a cliche, but it was an awesome one at that. He looked over at Stargirl, she seemed a little green, but she did pretty good. "Its good to know that your attractiveness wasn't the only reason that you were able to take me in." He grinned again, he had complimented the girl once more on her looks, and this time, her power.

He put his guns away, he had a few more, but it was nice to keep what you could on hand, if you could afford to of course. He looked over the moaning forms of the guys they just smacked down, they weren't going anywhere. "So what now, you gonna take me to the man and get me locked down?" He was hoping that she would cut him some slack, but she would get in trouble for it, so he wasn't really expecting anything.

[Stargirl]

Stargirl peered around the room and stared at each of the men whom the pair had taken out. She smiled to herself as she watched the groaning figures. She was quite proud of herself, and quite fond of her new acquantance. Courtney whipped her staff over her head and brought it down suddenly, causing the final blow to knock all the men out. The moaning annoyed her. She smiled back at Agent X as she made her way over to the phone behind the now abandoned office. She called the police and then shot out of the room.

"Now we get out of here!", she said with a smile and a shrug. "Anywhere you've got in mind?", she said in a sly voice as she began rushing from the building.

[Agent X]

Alex watched as she gave the final blow, knocking her staff againts the ground and finishing off everyone still concious. He was liking the way she thought. He followed her out to the phonebooth, watching as she made a call to the police, he was actually about to suggest that, but she had beaten to him, not like it really mattered though. He pondered her question for a moment, noting the sly tone in her voice. "Well, I rented an apartment in this city just incase things got a little to heated, we could go there for a bit, patch up that wound, unless you'd rather go somewhere else?"

[Stargirl]

Courtney could hardly contain her excitement when the man extended an invitation to his apartment. She had been so caught up in it all she had nearly forgotten abiut the wound on her shoulder. She smiled over at him and nodded once, twice, three times. "Sounds awesome!", she said quickly after her nodding.

"But uhh...", she added a bit afterwards "I have to be home by eleven..", she said thinking of her step-father at home. She was an adult already, and a superhero to boot, but Pat would always be strict like that. "You don't want to piss off a man in a giant robot suit...", she added with a tiny chuckle as she played catch up suddenly with the mercenary.

"Sooo...got a real name? Or should I just keep calling you Agent X?"

[Agent X]

She seemed pretty excited about it, which was good he supposed. He walked off in the direction of the apartment, it was only a few blocks away, and reaching it soon would be pretty easy if they kept a steady path. He looked back at Stargirl, raising his eyebrow as she mentioned the curfew. "You... Have a curfew? Is it me or do you look just a little to old for curfews?" Alex chuckled and continued on, he supposed it wouldn't be that big of a problem. A giant robot suit man? Sounded pretty tough, Alex didn't really feel like messing with something that sounded that tough.

"Alex, my names Alex. You wanna tell me yours, or should I just keep goin with Stargirl?" She had alot more to lose by telling him her name, for one thing, his was an alias, his real name was Nijo. He didn't like telling people that though, Alex was pretty much his name now, nobody called him Nijo. After a few more moments, they had reached the apartment, fortunately there were no elevators or stairs, it was all level. He opend the door and looked inside, it was pretty clean, not as skeazy as most of the apartments he was forced to stay at. "Make yourself at home."

[Stargirl]

As the two continued to walk through the sidewalk Courtney peered up at the man as he continued to talk to her. She spent so much time bashing heads in of supposed "bad guys", it was interesting to have an actual conversation. She blushed and rolled her eyes as he questioned about her curfew.

"Yeah, I guess I am. It's my step-dad", she said with a tiny shrug. "I'm all he has", she added a little sadly. Truth was, they were all eachother had.

She raised an eyebrow as he asked what he could call her. Courtney had been so very careless in the past with her alias, she had no real intentions on spilling it now. "Just call me Star", she said with a smile as she stepped into the apartment. She plopped down on a chair and looked up at Alex as she pointed to her shoulder.

"Gonna fix this?"
