No Show(Star Girl)

[Agent X]

Alex had been in Metropolis for a few hours now, his first time in the big city, but it wasn't anything new to him, he was a New Yorker, and he was used to this type of enviorment. He sighed and stratched the side of his face, his client was supposed to have been here an hour ago, and Alex was getting tired of waiting.

He had been reluctent to accept a job in Metropolis, who wouldn't? Superman protected the freakin city, and Alex wasn't about to get a hole punched through him, he didn't think that he would even be able to dent the Man of Steel, bullets didn't do jack, and even though Alex was alot stronger then a normal human he knew that it wouldn't be anywhere nearly enough, he would have his butt handed to him in a few seconds, tops.

He stood up, walking away from the bench he had been confined to for the past hour, he was done with this. He had other things that he could be doing, like finding a client that'll actually show up. The inflow of cash had been a little constricted lately, he wasn't sure why, but he just wasn't getting a whole lot of jobs.

He walked away in the crowd, although he stood out alot. Not alot of people have X shaped scars all over their face, and he had a pretty interesting style in shades, but not a whole lot of people gave him more then a passing glance.

[Stargirl]

The Justice Society was operating at a minimum level, and was likely close to shutting down and merging with the supposedly reforming Justice League. Still, they did offer up a mission or two and Courtney had received hers that afternoon. She was on a mission to check out Agent X and his activities, a rather boring venture if you asked her.

Stargirl stayed closely behind the man,doing her best to maintain a distance and to stay from his sights. She yawned as she waited for nearly an hour for someone else to show up. Yet nobody did.

"Dull, dull, dull", she whispered to herself as she shot back upwards slightly as he began to walk away. But the day was still young, she thought to herself as she continued to stalk the strange looking man.

[Agent X]

Alex continued walking through the crowd, intending to go back to New York when his phone started ringing. He sighed and took it out of his pocket, the number was unavaible, like so many of the clients he's had. He answered the phone, greeting whoever was calling with the knowledge that Agent X was speaking.

A few moments later Alex hung up the phone, it had been the client who had skiped out on their meeting, he had been to busy to meet in person. But Alex had just been given instructions for the hit, and he was told that half the money for the job had already been deposited into the bank. Alex of course had called his bank account and checked just to be certain, and sure enough a nice chunk of money had just been put in.

He put his phone back in his pocket and changed directions, heading towards a nearby apartment complex, why'd the baddies always hide out in apartments? It was probably a crappy one ontop of that! He arrived there a few moments later, and he was suprised to see that it was a pretty classy place. It was twenty stories tall! Alex didn't want to get shot out the window this time.

He headed inside, he already knew the room number, he just had to ask which floor it was on. He just knew that due to his luck, he was going to the top floor, and he was right. He silently cursed to himself as he got into the elevator, this is gonna suck.

[Stargirl]

Courtney crept close enough to catch bits of the rough looking mans conversation. She ran her fingers through her long blond locks as she listened carefully. He had just been given confirmation on what to do and where to go. And Stargirl would be there to spoil every bit of this, Courtney smiled as the thought entered her head. Agent X called his bank to make sure he had already recieved the cash he had been promised for the job, and Courtney made a mental note to inform her superiors about the transaction. The man quickly made a hasty leave, and the heroic young woman followed slyly behind. It was a few moments later when he had sealed himself up in an elevator. This was probably a good time to interrupt. Stargirl shot forward and lifted her golden staff and pointed it the the shut pair of doors. Beams of golden white energy spewed forward and wedged the doors open.

"Hey there...", Courtney said with a raise of her brows. "Going up?"

Alex had his arms crossed, waiting for the elevator to begin its ride up as the crappy music played, couldn't they at least play something decent? For the people who had to spend alot of time in elevators? Someone must be getting off on making people listen to this crappy choice of music, and if someone hired Alex to kill that guy, he'd do it for free. He tapped his feet impatiently, and then ontop of that...

Light, alot of it, shone right into the elevator, fortunately Alex had his shades on, so it wasn't really that bad. He watched as the doors opend back up, and there stood a blonde teenage girl, who looked a little to heroic for his taste. He instantly drew his gun, knowing that this girl was here to complicate you. "Great, can't you pop up after I've done the crime? I would make things so much easier!" He just pointed his gun at the girl, not to eager to shoot her, thats what he hated about superheroes, you never knew what to expect.

[Stargirl]

Courtney watched as the full figure of the imposing man as the elevator doors creaked open. She retracted her trusty golden staff and held it again by her side as the man began to speak. In an instant he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the teenager. Stargirl couldn't count the number of times she had had a gun pointed at her, but it was always a little unsettling. She grabbed her staff again and held it up as it emmitted a cloak of glowing energy around her, protecting the petite blond.

"Now what would be the point in that?", Courtney questioned with a sly smirk as she let her shielding slowly melt away. She shut one eye and aimed at the mans hand, hoping to disarm him. She let a bolt of solar energy shoot from her star-rod.

[Agent X]

Alex groaned at her return comment, it would be alot of fun, for him anyways. He would actually get to make some money, and he wouldn't have to deal with anyone else in the process. Thouse were the good days, when you could just show up, shoot someone, and then leave, no strings attached, money in the bank, rinse and repeat. That was how a good life sounded to Alex, at least until he got a good sum and decided to retire, of course, he would have to kill Deadpool first, no doubts about that.

"Fine, if you want it to go down like that." His eyes glanced to her rod, which was obviously her weapon, without that she would most likely be disarmed, wouldn't that be convient? He slightly doubted it, but you never knew, sometimes it was actually that easy, even if it was easier thought then done. He watched as a bolt of some form of energy shot out from her wand, obviously aimed to disarm him, but he didn't just have guns. He let the gun slip from his hand, sliding under the bolt and right into her leg, if she didn't dodge his slide anyways. While he was sliding, he heard the sound of his gun getting smashed by the bolt, it wasn't his best friend or anything, but it wouldn't be cheap to replace.

[Stargirl]

Courtney watched with large blue eyes as her star powered rod sent off a gleaming bolt that struck the mercenaries gun. She watched as the weapon was destroyed, and let a hidden smile creep across her face. She was the typical blond teenager girl, so it was a bit unorthadox for her to be here fighting an assassin rather than hanging out at the mall.

She was taken off guard suddenly when the large man slid into her side and crashing into her leg. She buckled after the strike, and fell to the ground. All the while she kept a tight drip on her star rod. She furrowed her brow and pulled back one of her fists. Her superstrength was at full force as she directed one of her fists to his face.

[Agent X]

Alex didn't catch her grin, but if he had, he would have probably laughed, kids were so easily amused these days, even if he knew he was still a young person, he definitly wasn't a kid, that was for sure. He was pleased to find that his kick had hit home, knocking the girl off her feet, although she kept her staff in hand. He was about to strike her with his fist, since pulling out a gun would take to long, but she beat him by a fraction of a second, and hit him square in the fact.

He flew off into the air, slamming into a nearby wall and putting a hole shaped like his body in it. He fell out of it after a moment, groaning loudly as he got to his knees, his nose was broken, if not his entire face. "Jeeze, you don't take it easy on anyone, do ya?" Fortunately for him, this wasn't much of a problem, except his targets would be getting away soon, because they would be alerted by the sound of their fight. His healing factor didn't take to much longer to kick in, and right before the girls eyes, his broken nose healed, and all that was left on his face was fresh blood.

"I'm not gonna make it easy for you, if this is how its going down." He reached into his coat and pulled out two pistols, shooting them both off instantly with accurary that was rarely found in normal humans, but Alex was anything but normal.

[Stargirl]

"You're the one who pulled the gun on me, buddy!", Courtney snapped back quickly as she peeked back at the hole that the man had caused as a result of her punching him. She could pack a mean right hook. She was pretty famous for it actually, and her fists almost always met their mark. Today was no exception.

She zipped upwards, staff and belt gleaming proudly in the fluroescent lighting of the lobby. Courtney gasped and ducked as the man began to shoot at her, and even with with her astounding agility and speed she was not able to doge or block the first bullet. It struck her in the shoulder, and Courtney let out a shrill cry of pain. She gritted her teeth and grinded them in agony as she pointed her staff at him.

"Oh man...", she said finally. "You seriously suck", then eighteen year old said in an angry tone. She looked back to see the others in the apartment lobby. "Let's take this elsewhere, buddy", she added as a warm blanket of energy whipped out from her weapon and engulfed the man. She began flying out of the building, the man trapped in her energy binds.

[Agent X]

Alex shrugged, he didn't really have a choice, and it wasn't like he instantly shot at her or anything, but it was more then obvious that the girl had shown up to mess up his job, and she had suceeded in doing just that. He cursed to himself, he always loved it when he gained the hate of another crime boss, especially when they tended to send out superpowered hitmen of their own, they were the most fun. He watched as one of his bullets hit home, all the others were deflected by some shield that she summoned with her staff, that much was obvious.

"Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't really want to fight you in the first place, cause its usually the hot ones you gotta look out for." He knew that saying that wouldn't get him anywhere, well, he wasn't completely right about that. She used her staff again to summon some force to wrap around him, and then flew off with him trailing behind. He didn't really like the fact that he was flying, he was fine with flying, but not in this situation.

[Stargirl]

Courtney listened as the man cursed to himself, and she could not help but smile a little. Even though her shoulder was in a tremendous amount of pain, it comforted her to know that she had ruined this guys plans, and could very likely end up ruining quite a few of his plans. Still, her shoulder thribbed in pain and she looked down to see the dark red blood seeping through her once unmarred blue spandex.

She looked back at him as she soared through the air, with him close behind and trapped in her forcefield. She clicked her tongue and shook her head at her previous comment. "If you hadn't just send a bullet through my shoulder---", she heaved on her staff a little and groaned. "I'd be all giggly", she finished her response when suddenly her wounded shoulder gave out. She could not support the weight or her powered staff and the man it carried. She let the man and her staff drop suddenly, and gasped as she watched the two objects falling before rocketing down after.

[Agent X]

This whole experience wasn't that bad, the breeze was nice, the sun was shining, it was kind of nice actually, except for the part that she could drop him anytime she wanted to, and he couldn't really do anything about it, seeing as how he's all tied up and everything. He looked up at the girl, who had responded to his previous comment. "Giggly in a good way, or a bad way?" He couldn't believe himself, in the middle of all this, he was still finding time to flirt a little. He knew that it was obviously Deadpool's influence, but he supposed it was the only trait of his that he didn't entirely mind sharing.

He watched as her shoulder gave out, and suddenly, he was falling through the air. He flailed his legs around, his arms to tied up to do anything. He didn't yell or let out a scream, he just repeated oh shit over and over again, he was not looking forward to that landing.

[Stargirl]

"In a good way, of course", Courtney said with a tiny tinge of a blush. Yes, she was a superhero. Yes, she was here to fight this man. And yes, she was still a teenage girl who flirted like mad. Her latest conquests being Atom Smasher and Captain Marvel. It was part of the reason her concentration was broken and she lost her grip on her staff and in turn, the man who she carried with her.

But here she was, blood still gushing from her as she flew down at an incredible speed to catch the man. Dropping was a rare thing for Courtney, and she could feel nothing but relief as she felt her fingers wrap around the golden pole. She instantly shot off a huge beam of energy and caught her falling foe.

"Oh shit...", she said in a frazzled voice as she started flying lower and lower. "Superman would have a coniption fit if I let you die..or whatever", she said in a still slightly trembling voice. Killing was not something that the teen wanted to do.

Eventually she set the man down, having worn herself out a bit. She pressed the communicator in her ear and spoke.

"Hey Terrific, I got him...", she said eyeing Agent X.

[Agent X]

Great, so ontop of being a supercharged teenager, this girl worked with Superman, SUPERMAN, who was like, super and stuff! He didn't want to meet that man, not at all, even his healing factor wouldn't keep him safe, the only thing between him and Superman beating him to death being Superman's morals, which thank god include not beating to death villians, from what he had heard anyways, and he hoped that he wasn't wrong. He let out a sigh of relief as he touched the ground safely, he would have survived, but he probably would have wished that he hadn't.

"So thats it then? My life of dastardly deeds are over? Are you gonna lock me up?" He sighed at himself, even in his dire situation he couldn't take this whole thing seriously, he would probably escape anyways, one way or another. He pondered coming onto the girl again, but he decided that it wouldn't really do anything, it probably wouldn't even be fun, although he knew it would be, he restrained himself.
