Recruiting Avengers (Open to...all?)

[Pepper]

The Avengers had suffered massive losses and with Tony acting stranger and stranger Pepper had taken it upon herself to stake out some of the old propaganda-meeting hideouts and see if she couldn't set up a recruiting base there. She wasn't sure how public she should - or could go - and thus was keeping it mostly on the down low. Of course, she couldn't get members by not saying anything, and so she'd employed a few young children to run around and whisper suggestions to a few superheroes in the area. She knew she was pretty much taking an awful risk, but she wasn't sure who to trust or who to just walk up to and say: "We need to regroup."

So the little kids would run around randomly babbling about old meeting places and hints of 'regrouping' and joining the 'Initiative.' It wasn't as subtle as Pepper would like, but it would do for now. Of course if the wrong people showed up she'd likely have some really good explaining to do...but she was hoping fo rthe best here. After all, she had told Ted to let people believe in hope, and let those that could create it.

She was creating hope. Hopefully.

[Wonder Woman]

Wonder Woman had been beating on some robbers when she over heard a child talking about 'regrouping' and 'Initiative' it seemed a little odd for a child to be talking about things like that after tracking him down and asking him who told him about these things he pointed out to where the woman was last seen at. She thanked him and made her way over to Pepper was spouse to be at.

[Pepper]

Pepper could see Wonder Woman in the distance and she steeled herself. This was the first person to respond to her call. Which was good, Wonder Woman wasn't exactly the last person picked for kickball. She was a strong and courageous person that Pepper would personally be glad to have on the Avengers. Provided she wasn't acting like Tony and try to kill Pepper where she stood.

As the woman approached, Pepper said in a low voice: "I'm over here."

The moment she said it she felt doubts. What if Wonder Woman hadn't been looking for her? She'd just revealed her location to someone who might not want or need to know it.

No. She couldn't think that way.

[The Juggernaut, Bitch]

It was a quiet day in the X-mansion when the call came through. Cain had told the secretary at the reception desk that he was not in and to take his calls for him. Later in the day he came by to check his messages and got the one from Ms. Potts.

Tony's right hand woman was one of few words. There were only 3 words on the piece of paper that the receptionist had written down.

Avengers.

Job.

Friday.

Cain balled the paper up and nodded his head. It seemed there was something to do after all. He grabbed his overcoat and ran out the front door of the mansion. He settled into a good pace and made his way to Stark Tower.

[Iron Man]

Tony walked into the old hideout that Pepper was using to recruit new Avengers he had spent the better part of the day shopping looking for a gift for Pepper's birthday and had found just the thing after spending a week looking. He just handed it off to Rhodes to hide very well it for a few days hoping the woman wouldn't find it she some how was able to find it in past years hopefully it would be different this time. He walked into the room and they weren't alone which was good she wouldn't grill him about why he's been acting strange lately. "Wonder Woman its an honer to meet you." He said when he noticed who the person was.

[Wonder Woman]

Wonder Woman followed Tony side "It's nice to meet you too Mr. Stark I've heard so much about you." She said looking at him he looked like something was bothering him "Is everything all right?" She asked as they walked into the room that Pepper was in "Hello." She said to the woman with smile having no idea what was going on between the two.

[Pepper]

Pepper blinked, utterly caught off-guard. She hadn't been expecting Wonder Woman to be so....polite. And she certainly hadn't expected her boss to be there! Suddenly she felt a little like a child caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Tony wasn't supposed to know she was recruiting. This soon after the war she'd highly doubted he would even want to fight. But...she couldn't reveal that because then she might lose Wonder Woman as a possible Avenger. Which meant there was nowhere to go but forward.

She hoped she got more people soon though. She'd taken the liberty of actually calling Cain Marko...she'd been fairly certain she'd die for doing it, but he hadn't been in. Now she just had to wait and see if he'd show up to this little meeting.

"Mr. Stark," she said, carefully hiding the surprise in her voice and on her face. "Miss Prince."

[The Juggernaut, Bitch]

Now alittle known fact about a person of Cains size running at nearly 30 mph, is that its hard to turn bulk that size on a dime. That thought probably didn't go through the police officer's mind when Cain rounded a corner going a bit to fast and blindsided the patrol car he was in.

"Sorry!" Cain said as he corrected his course and pulled up to Stark Tower. He paused and straightened his overcoat then opened the large double glass doors leading into the main foyer. The receptionist was doing her usual daily activities and failed to notice the hulking figure walk up and place his hands on her desk.

"I'm here to see Ms. Potts." He paused and leaned in. "Now sweetheart."

[Gambit]

"Podna!", a voice said from behind Tony. Remy smiled widely as he placed a hand on the broad shoulder.He didn't know the man too well, but that didn't really stop him. Remy stood there grinning from ear too ear, a cigarette perched between his lips. His eyes carefully scanned Wonder Woman, and he raised his eyebrows signaling that he was impressed.

Remy turned to look at the Pepper and leaned forward a little. He winked at the woman and made eye contact right off the bat. "Remy here to become an Avenger too"

Ethan was walking his dog cosmos at the park. Suddenly there was this small kid who came up to him and told him about the whereabouts of pepper and hinting twords a team that might be forming. Ethan told the kid thank you for the information and wondered why she would choose to get information out this way. There might be a villain or even the general population could all know about this and ease drop at there old bases. Ethan didn't care if his identity about being a hero was reveled tho he enjoyed using his powers. He walked his dog to pepper and saw others had herd the message. Walking up to everyone he waved his hand "hello im ethane are you guys forming the avengers?" he asked the girl who looked like she was in charge pepper pots.

[Pepper]

"I'm sorry, Miss Potts isn't in. She left earlier, I believe she mentioned going to Battery Park. I can take a message if you'd like."

[as Pepper]

Before Tony or Wonder Woman could reply, a familiar-looking Cajun with red eyes and a little boy with a dog came wandering up. Pepper smiled very slightly, recognizing Remy LeBeau. A cocky, high-stakes gambler, Pepper was very familiar with his methods as she often watched him play in order to help Tony out. He was almost as much into women as Tony, which meant Pepper had an easy time dealing with him. She wondered, often, what would happen whenever she had to read a man was wasn't into women and booze. How good would she be at that?

"I'm glad to see my methods of communication are working," she said. The turnout was already a little more than she'd anticipated. "I promise you they'll be a little less hit-and-miss in the future."

[OOC: Not starting any talk yet until Cain arrives and no one else is joining...don't worry I won't make you wait forever!]

"Ugh. No message hon. I'll head that way." With that Cain turned and headed out the big glass doors of Stark Tower. As he walked he adjusted his overcoat and looked around the Big Apple. This had always been a good town to him and his past exploits. He used to be able to get anything illegal here. Now, not so much.

He ran until he arrived at what he could guess was the middle of the park. Of course there was no booth or kiosk saying 'apply here' so Cain just decided to do the reasonable thing. He yelled.

"Pepper Potts!!"

Jennifer Walters was the next to walk in the little club house in her human form trying to keep a low profile as much as she could anyways. "Tony I've always know you where one to try new things but sending kids out to talk about things like this. You do realize they could get into a lot of trouble don't you?" She asked as she took of her glasses and put her briefcase down. "The last time I checked the phones still worked around the city and I'm sure you know how to get a hold of people with out the government knowing about it." she said looking at Pepper then to Tony.

Well a lot of people!....But he was the best at it (probably) New York was a weird place these days. It seemed a little cliche' to say everything was different, but sometimes that's why cliche's were that way
Because they suited situations. Jumping onto the top of a building Pete leaned against a Chimney and yawned. "Its days like this that made ol' Jameson look good" Looking in the direction of the Bugle Peter wondered if he should go, when he heard murmurings of something, a bunch of kids were talking about an avengers meet up. Peter Stroked his chin. Hmm... Well why the hell not! Yelling down to the Unaware kids
"thanks kids, Stay off drugs, and don't read the Bugle!"

Finding the Place peter strolled in cautionally, Hoping his black suit wouldn't give anybody the wrong impression. Strolling in and noticing they were all in conversation Pete Tried to talk over the meeting
"Hey uh, Sorry I'm Late, web slinging sometimes isn't the fastest way to travel..."

[Black Panther]

T'Challa, king of Wakanda and the current Black Panther stepped out of his limousine and entered the building where the Avengers were assembling. Like the others, he had learned about the meeting through word of mouth and while he did not approve of using children as messengers, saw the necessity. As he stood in front of the reception area, he saw the infamous Juggernaut leaving at the same time he came in. Shrugging his shoulders as if dismissing the affair, T'Challa waited for the receptionist to give him directions to the meeting room.

He walked inside the room and saw several people already present, some he had recognized like Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman. Many more he did not know.

He bowed respectfully to Wonder Woman in the way fellow nobles can be acknowledged.

"I am quite pleased to meet you, Princess Diana." T'Challa said humbly. "Things are going well in Themyscira i trust? But forgive me all of you, Greetings to you all." he added quickly.
