Recruiting Avengers (Open to...all?)

[Pepper]

Pepper took out a notepad and made a careful list while everyone spoke. Some of them were here in their superhero outfits - she should have taken that into account, a sudden meeting of superheroes would be looked upon as odd. But she had quite a favorable turnout here - despite She-Hulk's words. She paused and looked at the large green woman. Tony didn't call them here, she thought. I did. But she didn't say that out loud - it would be rude. And the thought wasn't without merit. Why would Pepper Potts, Tony's quiet and devoted assistant, take charge of something without even letting her boss know?

Why indeed.

And then, to her ultimate embarrassment, the little boy and his dog. She had no idea what his name was. She decided to hope that it would be spoken soon. For now she memorized his face.

Then, brought on the wind, Pepper heard her name shouted from the nearby Battery Park. She shot a concerned look around, but made no move towards it. "What on Earth is that?" she asked.

[as a little kid]
"Pepper Pepper Pepper Potts!" sang out a little boy when the big huge man started yelling. He sat on the ground near the man. "Avengers and Pepper, together again!"

He began to play with the hard dirt in th ground, and wondered if the man would notice he was writing 'Wall Street.'

[Wonder Woman]

Wonder Woman looked at Gambit with a raised brow and crossed her arms over her chest. "Everything is going well in Themyscira thank you for asking T'Challa and how are things in Wakanda?" Wonder Woman asked as she looked over at the man "Sounds like someone is looking for you." She said looking at Pepper again.

[Sketch]

sketch walked up to all the super heroes. He was amazed at the sight of so many powerful well known heroes all in one place. He made his way to Pepper Pots. " Excuse me miss my name is ..." he paused to think of a code name to use. This was his first time doing any hero work in the publics eyes." umm sketch and this is my dog cosmo. im here to become an avenger. But before i do i want to know why form this group now? is there some threat a single hero can not do alone?" he asked her after he introduced himself. this was the first time he had seen all of these heroes in real life but he did read about them in the paper and had seen them on tv saving someone or raising some charity. Sketch is a little more on the discrete side making it so no one knows he had even saved someone or donated anything to anyone. He looked around and couldn't help to wounder witch hero was the strongest of them all excluding himself. Cosmo was beside sketch but found himself straying off to black panther (i smell a big cat) cosmo told sketch telepathically so only he could here. " get over here buddy." sketch told cosmo out loud and cosmo sat by sketchs side as they waited to here what the whole point off forming the avengers was from Pepper

[The Juggernaut, Bitch]

After about 5 minutes of yelling Pepper's name, Cain grew bored and slightly hungry. He walked over to one of the many hotdog stands around the park and took half the guys stock of goodies. As he was munching on his 5th one he overheard a few youths chatting and doing the same as he.

"Man you ain't going to believe this. I swear I just saw Spider-man and a guy wearing a black cats mask over near Wall-Street."

Cain gulped down the last of his hotdogs and stood up. Suddenly a small boy began yelling and drawing on the concrete. 'Well, this can't be a coincidence'. Cain thought as he made his way toward Wall-Street.

[X'Sharri]

Remus had just been having a nice, peaceful day in the part when he had overheard a kid rambling about a meeting somewhere. He talked to the kid some more and got a bit more info, like where it was being held and what it was for, and immediately the young wolfman's interest was piqued. Remus didn't bother changing into anything nicer than his fake leather jacket, sunglasses, black jeans, and ripped T-shirt.

He changed into a black wolf, running over the area where the meeting was supposed to be. Remus, at first, got a bit lost, but soon he was able to see a whole bunch of superheroes. He transformed back a bit too close to the gathering, brushing off the bit of dirt that had gotten onto his clothes.

Remus wasn't really a meeting people person despite his personality and just sort of walked into the crowd, kind of hoping someone would strike up a conversation with him.

[Pepper]

A quiet-looking man and Cain Marko came hurrying up as the young boy - Sketch, (Pepper quickly added his name and then the other two) - asked her what the point was. Pepper looked around at the crowd gathered before her and thanked the heavens silently that she'd chosen a meeting room large enough to accommodate them. She cleared her throat and looked each of them in the eye, her stomach twisting a little as she met Tony's gaze.

Pepper Potts was a skilled one-on-one communicator. More than four to a group, however, and the more the stage fright settled in. Her eyes were a little wider and her face very slowly draining of color. But she spoke with nary a shiver to her tone. "The war may be over," she said, "and those of us...that fought in it are well-aware of the losses." She hadn't intended to start with that. It was a direct and almost tactless statement. The war was a fresh wound in everyone's hearts. "Those...that are gone would not want us...to be weak. To..." She stopped, her throat drying even as tears suddenly began to burn in her eyes. She had planned this speech but she hadn't withdrawn her cards.

She closed her eyes and cleared her throat harshly. "I'm sorry. We need to re-form the teams that have been separated. We may have won, but the costs have been so high and we - as the Untouchables - have been deeply weakened. But it is to us that the common man looks. They look to us for protection and we can't afford to show them just how weak and tired we are. Not now.

"A short time ago, I had a conversation with Mr. Ted Kord. He asked me if there was hope. I told him that it was our job, as those surviving and those in power, to provide hope for those who think it lost. We carry the burden of the world on our shoulders...but I don't want to put it down yet. We must re-form the Avengers and any other superhero team that was disbanded. Not to pretend that life is going on as before, but to prove that there is hope."

She stopped talking. It was just that simple. Her brain shut off and she started at the faces staring back at her and she realized she could barely remember a word of what she'd just said.

But her face was a mask of determination, and she didn't waver one bit.

Remus just looked on as the woman gave a speech about reforming the superhero teams that had been disbanded. Originally, he hadn't really wanted to join any sort of superhero team- he kind of liked being a vigilante. Now, though, Remus wanted to participate, admiring the woman's strength in the face of everyone who was staring at her.

Giving a smile, he walked a bit closer to the woman and complimented her, "Nice speech, congrats." The smile showed his canine super-strong teeth, one of his dog-like features that stuck around even when he was in his human form. Due to his general actions, people thought that women were his weakness, but honestly, they weren't.

Remus didn't have any interests in romance or gambling, which was weird considering he lived in a gang that was centered around that.

[The Juggernaut, Bitch]

Cain stood there, arms folded, listening to Pepper's speech. She had said what many had been thinking and said it well. After a moment of silence and no one else spoke up, he decided to say something.

"Well said Pepper. I feel the same way." He took a quick look around and continued. "Seems that this is all of us. What do we have to do? I believe introductions are in order." He paused for a sec. "Now on know Remy, Diana and Spidey. But as for the man with the cat mask and the other three, I have no idea."

Peter was rather surprised at the amount of people that had turned up. Ok so...Juggernaut was here, wasn't he a bad guy last time Pete checked? And wow! The Black Panther! That guy was massively big league! Tony, Peter knew all to well, The kid and the dog looking guy...no idea, And the girl who appeared to be a queen of something?? Wow Pete thought to himself, How long has he been out of the game?

Peter Stood and listened to Peppers Speech, A little surprised Tony Didn't make the speech, Of all the people here; He figured it would of been Tony or The Panther making the speech. But that didn't make the speech any less true. They did need a team, and people did need hope, Heck! Pete Kind of wished he had a little hope going on. Smiling (which happened to be completely irrelevant when wearing a mask) 'Good speech the Pepp's But i agree with Jugs, Perhaps a little bit of role call is in order?"

[Silent Wolf]

As Silent Wolf was doing a little bit of patrol work in his werewolf form he heard a few children on the sidewalk below him talking about 'regrouping', and 'Avengers'. He stopped, and stood on the ledge of the building, and waited to hear a location. It was only about a minute later that he got the information he wanted. He dashed off to the meeting place, and arrived just in time to hear Pepper's speech.

The lycan King was currently in his human state, and was dressed only in some Native American style pants. He was a rather large man, built like a brick wall, and stood at 6'3", but for the first time in quite a while he didn't feel like some sort of giant when he spotted Juggernaut.
He didn't show any signs of emotion as he walked a little deeper into the room, looking at all the people who had come. Some of these people he had seen on TV--they were big-time heroes. However, the one who really caught his attention was the young man with the wolf-like teeth. At first he thought the boy must have been one of his descendants, but his scent wasn't quite right. ~What is this kid?~ He thought to himself.

"I should have did this before I came in." Jennifer said just before her brown eyes turned a bright green as she began to grow in size and gaining considerable mass (much of it muscle) her hair and skin turned green and her pantsuit, shoes shredded as she grew in size underneath the suit was purple and white one-piece leotard, complemented by fingerless gloves and baggy low-rise jeans. "If you still don't know me Cain your in a lot of trouble." She said looking over at Juggernaut then over to Pepper "Great speech by the way although I thought Tony would be the one talking he does seem to like hearing himself talk." she said poking fun at Tony for not saying anything.

[Sketch]

sketch moved past the crowed of pepole back to pepper who seemed to have a lot to deal with at the moment. He gave her his number and wrote his code name on a peice of papper he ripped from his sketch book. " here it looks like you have more then enof members for this team but if you ever need help give me a call." he told her and with that him and his dog left. He really wanted to stay but he wasn't good in crowds and this place was getting overly crowded with heroes never mind the normal people now there were super powered. He walked slowly away and soon was out of sight. He smiled at the thought of the world having hope once agean and was confident this team would give the pepole that with so many volinters he just wasn't needed anymore.

[Iron Man]

"Great speech Pepper." Tony said he was impressed with what she had said but that faded when he saw Jennifer turn into She-Hulk and shoot him a nasty look it seemed she was still mad at him for taking away her ability to turn into the Jade Giantess. "Show off." He said to the green skinned woman trying to be nice and hoped she would forgive him for what he did not wanting her to destroy him in both forms.

[Black Panther]

T'Challa was enthralled by Pepper's speech and agreed with she had said wholeheartedly. The Juggernaut had returned and surprisingly made a valid point despite his crude demeanor. Introducing each other will put every one else at ease if they are to work together.

The Black Panther looked up at the Juggernaut while his arms was crossed to his chest though he was talking to everyone in the room.

"To those who do know of me, such announcements are unnecessary and redundant. However for who do not know, such things are understandable. Please forgive my manner of speech since it is not my intention to offend no one this day.

I am named T'Challa, son of T'Chaka and current king of Wakanda; a small African country located between the borders of Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Sudan and this "cat mask" is part of the religious and ceremonial garb of the representation of the sacred Black Panther spirit who protects my people.

Thus i am the Black Panther."

[Pepper]

Her speech was well-received, and the idea of a role-call seemed sufficient. The little boy, unfortunately, came up to her and told her he was leaving. She watched him go with a mixture of relief and sadness. There were a little piece of hope. But the weight of the world should not be placed on the shoulders of a little boy. Patronizing as it was, it was better the adults kept it so the children wouldn't have to suffer. More than they were.

A growing shadow caught her eye and she turned to see Jennifer Walters turning into a female Hulk. She made a note on her pad and saw Jennifer's eyes narrow at Tony. She wondered slightly what that was about and barely hid her smile at Tony's chagrin. No doubt he sincerely deserved the look. Pepper would have to draw the line at any form of attack though. It would not look good for the budding Avengers team to already be fighting amongst themselves.

The handsome Black Panther introduced himself, and Pepper nodded to him. "A pleasure to meet you all. For those of you who don't know, I'm Pepper Potts." She smiled a little sheepishly. "It may have been wiser for me to say that before making that speech."

The quiet man who had come up at the end had congratulated her, and she smiled at him. "Thank you very much. What is your name?" She noticed his canine teeth and blinked a little. A mutant, then. And likely a dangerous one, if not necessarily a villainous one. She didn't drop her smile.
