Being much faster then Pepper Purgatori let go of the blood whip and grabbed the sword blade to keep it from meeting its mark "That's cold." She hissed as her leg came back down. She ripped the sword out of Pepper's hands "Children shouldn't be playing with these things you'll put an eye out." She said tossing it aside it slid a cross the floor and came to a stop in front of the steps leading to Darkseids throne. The only thing from him you could see is his glowing red eyes. With her other hand she went to hit Pepper in the face with the butt of her sword.

Pepper dodged the blow, barely - she felt the wind as it went by - and as Tony's scream cut through the air she closed her eyes and hurled herself after her sword. Its comforting metal met her hand and she looked up from her position on the floor at Darkseid's feet. She quickly stood and spit at him. "Remember me?" she asked coldly.
She didn't give him a chance to reply but backed away quickly so she could keep an eye on both Purgatori and Darkseid. A glance back revealed the others and she joined them. At the same time her eyes began to scan the room, looking for a way to climb up and free Tony. She had no idea how to break the chains or get Tony down but she'd be damned if she just left him there. She was here and she wasn't leaving without him.

"I got him Pepper." Nemesis said as she jumped at the wall and rebound off of it and used her swords to cut the chains before landing. She then though one of her swords at the wall near Tony and the other one on the other side of him. "It's a good thing I'm not human." She said mostly to herself before jumping up onto the swords "This is going to hurt." She said looking him over trying to decide if she should take the hooks out or not. After a moment of thinking she deicded to do it and slowly began to pull them out then tossed each hook over her shoulder all the while thinking of how she was going to get those nails out of his hands.

Echo entered with Jonathan following close by. He took a look around the place, already planning the fight in his mind. Everything happened so quick--Tony hanging, Pepper & the demoness fighting, and Nemesis taking action to help Stark.
"Well, I think it's time we joined in, Spot." Echo said with a faint grin. "Help me out with a little crossfire, would you?"
"On it!" The Spot said as he tossed a portal in front of him, and then jumped through. The portal remained open after Dr. Ohnn went through, and then about a dozen more portals surrounded Purgatori.
"Are you ready to rock and roll?!" Echo said with a smirk as he equipped his arm cannon and aimed at the portal The Spot had jumped into. He then began firing rapidly into the portal, causing a barrage of energy blasts, about twice the size of basketballs, to come out at Purgatori from all of the different portals surrounding her.

Zealot let the others fight as she went to look for Lady Death after some searching she found the albino war maiden out cold still making her way over to her she moved her hair out of the way to check her neck for bite marks finding none she rolled her over onto her back to check for bite marks on the rest of her body. That's the thing about Purgatori she didn't always bite a woman on the neck when she fed after giving the demon the once over and not finding any bite marks any place she assumed Purgatori hadn't got the chance to feed off her which was a good thing or she'd be a lot more powerful and harder to beat. Zealot then began to shake Lady Death trying to wake her up so she could join the battle.

Darkseid had been sitting on his throne watching the battle it seemed he hardly had to lift a finger in this fight he did however use his telekinesis to put a barrier around Purgatori to protect her from the attacks. She still had her uses that was the only reason he saved her watching her Pepper was entertaining he didn't like the idiots butting in using his telepathy he tried to take control of Spots and Echo.

As Echo continued to fire into Spot's portal the green dome-shaped crystal on his helmet lit up a little. A semi transparent yellow visor came down in front of his eyes, displaying an alert message, more or less informing him that an opponent was attempting to use telepathy on him. However, this form of attack was useless against Echo, thanks to his helmet.
The young genius smirked as he stopped firing his weapon, and unequipped the arm cannon as he moved his arm down by his side. "Yeah, that's gonna happen." Echo said with a smirk as he stared at Darkseid. With a boost from his jet boots he jumped high above the battle on the floor, and all the way over to Darkseid. While in air he gripped the hilt of his saber, once he was only a couple yards away he drew the energy saber, and slashed at the so-called "god", sending a golden arch of energy at him. ~This bad boy cleaves through titanium without a problem...let's see how it does against this bozo.~

Dr. Ohnn seemed to have Purgatori under control - Pepper turned her attentions to Darkseid in time to see Dr. Watz charge him. "Mike, no!" she shouted as her heart leaped into her throat. Drawing Darkseid's attention this early was a mistake; Echo would be lucky if his strike was only deflected.
There was one upside to Echo attacking Darkseid now - the god would be distracted, even if only for a second. Pepper used that second to lunge at a dangling hook. Ignoring everything else around her she climbed up the wall, using the hook and chain, to where Tony Stark hung from his hands. Nemesis was tearing out the hooks bit by bit and Pepper joined her, helping untangle Tony. "I'm here, Tony," she said very softly. "I'm going to get you out of here. Somehow."
She touched his face for a moment and then went back to the hooks and keeping a critical eye on the nails holding him up. She wasn't sure she could support his weight if Nemesis tried to get him down...but she'd be damned if she didn't try.

Lady Death began to come to from the shaking and pushed whoever it was that was shaking her away. And stood up she was mad it was time to end it her sword was gone replaced with a scythe and black hooded cloak with the hood up. "I have grown tired of this game it ends NOW!" She said as she swung the scythe and a wave of blue energy ripped a cross the area killing anything that wasn't smart enough to get out of its way. Which included Parademons, hounds and Darkseid. Lady Death used her scythe to rip a portal into the fabric of reality for the souls to go to there final resting place the endless graveyard she had created years ago for everyone on earth. She knew Purgatori would have avoided the wave of death and was most likely gone she then turned to look at Tony and the others and pointed the scythe at Tony and pulled his soul out of his body. "Your time has come Stark its time for your final judgment." She said to the soul before pointing to the portal.

[assuming Darkseid was hit, trying to keep it general in case he wasn't]
Pepper had had bare seconds to get out of the way - and out of the way she had gotten, by wrapping herself completely around Tony Stark. It was a fairly awkward position to put herself in, sort of a vertical straddle, and she was pretty sure the added weight would NOT be helping the pain he was going through. But she was only on him for seconds; the moment the wave passed she let go and fell to the ground, pain shooting through her body as it did so. She looked up to see Darkseid and groaned softly. "Lady Death," she murmured, "you robbed me of my revenge." She had wanted to attack Darkseid herself, even if she died. For revenge for Tony. But now...
She looked up.
And she saw what happened.
She let out a blood-curdling scream as Lady Death tore Tony's soul from his body. She saw him, standing there, wholly healed, his broken and lifeless body hanging from the ceiling like so much dead weight. Betrayal and rage shot through her as she stood and turned to Lady Death, her eyes shining with anger. "What in the hell are you doing?" she shouted. It's not his time! "We came here to save him!" Or I did. She held out her hands, the ring glinting on her finger.

Zealot had jumped up the nearest wall and impaled the wall with her swords before the wave could reach her, she wasn't ready to die just yet. Looking over her shoulder to see if it was safe yet when it was she pulled her swords out as she dropped to the ground and looked at the others Lady Death didn't look happy and Pepper didn't look happy and Tony looked mighty dead along with just about everyone else. Zealot decided to stay out of this fight for she knew what would happen having known death for a long time from what she used to do.

Nemesis dropped down from where she had been and made her way towards Lady Death and Pepper as she put her swords away. She looked at Pepper for a long time thinking then she looked over at Lady Death "I want to make a deal, my soul for Stark's. we both know its only a matter of time before I end up getting myself killed from doing something stupid I'd be very useful to you. And before I die if you ever need my help I'm just a portal away." She said then looked at Tony "Besides do you really want to hear him boo hoo about not getting to be with Pepper forever? Or he goes back to being his old self and try's to get you in bed." She asked looking back at Lady Death now. "Bring him back to life and I'm yours."

"You would best watch your tone with me mortal have you forgotten who you speak to? I could make your afterlife hell." Lady Death said staring back Pepper her white eyes were as lifeless and colder then the dead around them.
I want to make a deal, my soul for Stark's. we both know its only a matter of time before I end up getting myself killed from doing something stupid I'd be very useful to you. And before I die if you ever need my help I'm just a portal away
Lady Death looked at Nemesis "You do realize I rarely bring people back or make deals like this." She said
"Besides do you really want to hear him boo hoo about not getting to be with Pepper forever? Or he goes back to being his old self and try's to get you in bed."
"You do make a good point very well." She said as she held out her hand and a contract appeared in her hand along with a quill in her other hand and stabbed Nemesis in the hand with it "It has to be done in blood to bind it." She said.

Pepper's face turned as red as her hair as Lady Death snapped at her for her tone. Her hands balled into fists and her lips pursed until they were white. "I am very aware of who I am speaking to," she said in a tight and low voice, laced with fury. The betrayal stung, but she closed her mouth against it as a wave of dread swept from one side of her body to the other. Lady Death - truly, what had she expected? Death, in the end, was a surprise party. It did what it wished when it wished. And all of Pepper's energy and resources and training...had been for naught. Lady Death had incapacitated Darkseid, and now she was about to take Tony's soul.
"Take my soul instead," she said out loud in a clear voice...but to her surprise Nemesis spoke up as well, offering her soul for Tony's. Pepper felt a glimmer of hope and joy, but she didn't allow it to show on her face. Instead she remained as cold as ice, watching as Lady Death accepted Nemesis's terms and cut the woman's hand, preparing the blood signature.
"I am in your debt, Nemesis," she said softly. "For saving him."
Her cold eyes landed on Lady Death again, and she felt that anger rise. Selfish bitch. She looked away, back at Tony, who stood there and glowed. She wanted to show him her ring, but she waited. Nothing was certain yet.

"Big surprise." Nemesis said as she pulled the quill out of her hand and took the contract and signed her name to it before handing the things back to Lady Death "Call it my one good deed of a life time. Besides I know I'm going to end up in hell in the end might as well make myself useful instead of being torture forever." She said looking at Pepper before looking back at Tony "Shake a lag dead boy don't just stand there looking pretty. Get over here before I drag you over here." She said waving him over.
