Dangerous Lessons (Cyclops, Open)

[Jubilee]

Jubilee had just returned to the Mansion, she had been away Generation X, but was now ready to return to the X-Men. She had arrived at the Mansion meeting with Xavier who told her she needed to re-do her Danger Room session, and that Cyclops and maybe others would be her instructors. She had placed her suitcases in her old room and had made her way to the basement, she had missed the danger room, most of her fondest memories of the Mansion were in this room.

She walked into the room and looked around, not seeing Cyclops she said sarcastically "Come on four eyes, I am usually the late one.. Jeesh, I am gone for a while and everyone starts slacking off." She popped her gum and started to create miniature fireworks shows, killing time, for the moment.

[Cyclops]

Cyclops walked through the hall ways of Xaviers Mansion, a cold look on his face. The recent war had cost the X-Men many deaths, even Xavier himself had been slain in it, but the one that hit him the hardest was that of Jean Grey's. Cyclops did the only thing he could do, he bottled it up, he could deal with these problems later, right now he had other concerns.

The biggest of which was the fact that the majority of the superhero comunity was now wanted, and that included the X-Men. Cyclops knew it would only be a matter of time before the goverment launched an attack on Xaviers mansion, this place wasn't safe anymore, but for now it would have to do. He reached the Danger Room, opening the door and heading inside.

The Danger Room hadn't changed yet, it was still just a big empty room. The first thing Cyclops had noticed was Jubilee, who was standing there and entertaining herself with her powers. "I trust your ready to begin?" Teaching students was the last thing Cyclops wanted to do, but he knew it needed to be done. He stood on the other side of the room and faced Jubilee.

Cyclops was used to teaching more then one student in the Danger Room, and it proved to be more effective because it taught the students team work, not something you learn when going solo. "The exercises we can do today are a little limited, seeing as how we mostly use the Danger Room to teach team work, so why don't you tell me something that you feel your lacking in, and we can work on that."

Cyclops could come up with a few things that Jubilee could work on pretty easily, but it had been a while since he had seen her, and perhaps Generation X had improved her. Who knew, maybe she was even X-Men material now.

[Jubilee]

"I have a problem hurting people, so if you can help with that, it would be great. That or close quarters power use, I kinda get clumsy when I have to use my powers on someone who is close to me." She said with her usual chipper and easy going tone. She knew that Jean had died, and that Cyke was probably short tempered, so she wasn't going to mess around, too much. She had experimented and had learned a new trick with her powers and was going to use it here, just to see if it would impress Cyke.

[Cyclops]

Cyclops listend as Jubilee instantly told him what she felt she was lacking in, just the fact that she was able to tell him so fast told him that she had been aware of these problems for a long time. Of course he knew about Jubilee's difficulty when it came to hurting people. He knew that he couldn't help her with that problem, but he could do something about her fumbling in close quaters.

[blue]"Jubilee, your inability to hurt people is something you'll have to overcome on your on, no one can help you with that. Your young, so I won't push you, but your going to learn that sometimes theres just no other option. I wish that you didn't have to make that choice, that no mutant would have to make that choice, but its one that must be made, especially withs going on now."[/blue]

Cyclops knew that once Jubilee got over that problem, that she would be a powerful mutant, but she wouldn't be the same. After someone can hurt other people without regretting it, then they change, they harden up, some people can hide this, but others become cold and withdrawn. [blue]"Now as for your other problem, I believe we can handle that. Why do you think that you keep fumbling when your up close to your opponent?"[/blue]

[Jubilee]

Jubilee nodded as he talked about just having to eventually get to the point where she could hurt someone if she had to. She had hurt before, but she always had a hard time getting over it after the fact. She knew she would probably always have a hard time hurting someone, unless she knew they could take it.

She then started to discuss her close quarters problems. "When I am in close quarters I don't know if it is the right time to use hand to hand, or try to blind and then use hand to hand. What do I do when, blind then fight, fight and blind at the same time, or use one and not the other?" At this she sounded a little upset, with all her training, she still couldn't figure it out, and she had been trained by the best.

Katherine Anne Pryde found herself eager. Her muscles ached from lack of action, and suddenly she felt herself pulled to the room that taught the team tactics and skills. Though it was in the afternoon, the young X-Man was garbed in her pajamas. In front of her mirror, Kitty ran a brush through her messy hair before dropping her clothes to slip into some jeans and a black, band t-shirt. Her hazel eyes locked onto her reflection's as her hand reached up to the Star of David around her neck. After staring admirably for a moment, Kitty blinked and found herself looking for a fight. As she ran down the stairs from the dorms, she attempted to tie her hair into a high ponytail up until she nearly smacked into one of the other students. "My bad." Kitty cursed the fact that she didn't simply phase through the kid. Another reason to train. Kitty approached the Danger Room with an unusual bounce in her step. She didn't need anyone to be in there-- Kitty knew very well how to use it. Being a near genius had its advantages.

Phasing through the door, Kitty walked straight to the wall that controlled the Danger Room without noticing the two in there until the fact hit her mind after a second. Turning back to Jubilee and Cyclops, she raised a brow. "Oh, hello brethren. You guys training too?" She smiled to them as she approached the both of them. Tying up her hair, Kitty listened to her friends' responses. It had been a while since she saw Jubes. She had a ton of questions!

[Cyclops]

Cyclopes listend to her talk to him about her problem in close combat, and it was easy to solve the dilemma she was facing. She was probably feeling a little embarressed that she was messing up on something so easy, but usually it turned out the easiest tasks are the hardest ones to master, so he didn't think about lecturing her on it or anything.

[blue]"It depends on who your fighting. If its an opponent where you can benefit from blinding them, do so, but if it seems entirely useless, you might want to consider not doing it. For enemies like Sentinals, it can mess up their vision."[/blue] He hoped that what he had said would at least help her manage this problem, Scott prided himself in being a great leader, but that wouldn't prove to be useful at all if he couldn't even help his soldiers learn how to use their abilties as effectively as they can.

He watched as Kitty entered the room, he hadn't really talked to the other X-Men since the war, there hadn't been much of a point, but not for the first time he got to thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold a big meeting, to at least discuss what was going on and what their plans should be. [blue]"Hello Kitty, I'm just going over some things with Jubilee."[/blue]

[Jubilee]

Jubilee ran up and hugged Kitty. "Kitty!! It is so good to see you! It has been way too long, what have you been doing?" She said almost jumping up and down with excitement. She then looked back at Cyclops and asked "Great, you make it sound so simple. Now I just have to remember it, and hopefully will be able to use it." She looked over at Kitty and then at Cyclops "Shall we do a session? Juggernaut, Sentinels, Brotherhood? I could use a good excercise."

[bishop]

"Scott, Jubes, Katherine. Hello." Bishop made his way into the mansion. After a few days away, Bishop had finally returned. Looking around, he frowned, wondering what the other three X-Men were, doing, then listened as Jubes proposed a Danger Room session.

"I would be more than happy to join a session, if you can handle another?" Bishop didn't want to intrude, but a brush-up on his skills would be a good thing. The war had been trying, that much as for sure. It had changed many people, but Bishop was curious to see just how much people had changed. Turning to Cyclops, he offered up a small smile.

"It is good to see you again, my friend. It has been a while."

[Shadowcat]

Kitty smiled wide to Jubilee, contemplating giving her a hug. It had been such a long time; it was nice to see her learning some things from Cyclops. Turning to the man who had greeted the group, Kitty's hazel eyes widened when she saw none other than Bishop, and a great smile continued its spread along her jaw. Even though the man had asked Cyclops about him training, Shadowcat nodded energetically and cheered, "Of course you can train with us!" She paused for a moment and turned to the others with joyful eyes. Meeting up with others made Kitty feel so happy-- no one was feeling alone.

Her attention set on Jubilee and she crossed her arms over her chest. "I just need help with my combat skills." Kitty said simply, nearly whining a bit. "I've been going south with how rusty I am!" She raised her arm up triumphantly, determined. But she'd get trained. Plus, Jubilee was pretty good in the fighting department. Maybe after Cyclops finished with her then she'd lend a hand.

[Cyclops]

Cyclops watched the exchange between Kitty and Jubilee. After they were finished, Jubilee said that they should do a session, and Cyclops supposed that there was enough of them to do a small one now. He was about to turn the Danger Room on, when a familiar voice greeted them. He turned to look at Bishop, who had spoken to him after saying hello to everyone. [blue]"It's good to have you back, Bishop."[/blue]

Cyclops was completely fine with Bishop training with them, everyone needed to keep their skills sharp for what was to come. It was good to see some of the X-Men again, although Scott could not really enjoy the feelings of happiness that the others were to see each other again. He was still wrapped up in the death of Jean. He pushed aside the thoughts, he couldn't be thinking about these things, he couldn't afford to do that. He turned away from the group for a moment, activiting the Sentinel's simulation.

The area around them changed, turning into a city enviorment. He moved closer to the group, facing towards where the Sentinel's would appear in a moment. [blue]"Get ready."[/blue] A few moments after Cyclop's said that, a Sentinel appeared and looked down on them, giving them only a moment or so before it began its attacks. [blue]"Destroy the Sentinel and keep the civillian's safe![/blue] Around them, normal people ran around, obviously afraid of the giant robot.

[Jubilee]

Jubilee turned and watched Bishop enter the room and she ran up and hugged him "Hiya Bishop, long time. Where ya been? I got myself stuck in Africa and just got back." She listened as Cyke explained the mission parameters and smiled, these were the most fun. She ran towards the sentinel and fired a long stream of Pafs at its head, causing them to explode in a bright, flashing display of color, in front of its optical sensors. "I will keep it occupied, Bishop could you cover me?" She had a plan, but didn't know if she should say it, she knew Cyke was the one who did the planning.

"Can do. Shadowcat, since you can phase, you should start out on crowd control. Get as many to safety as you can." Bishop was, at best, one of the top tacticians in the X-Men, second to Cyclops and his brother, Havok. Rolling across the ground, Bishop sent a blast of energy towards the Sentinel, drawing it's fire away from Jubilee.

Jubes was one of the most under-appreciated X-Men, Bishop knew. Most viewed her as callous, and too young. But, she were insanely powerful, if she could learn how to control her power. Bishop was going to give her that chance. Looking to Cyclops, he jumped up, dodging another energy blast from the Sentinel.

[Shadowcat]

Suddenly, the Danger Room became dark, and a bright light formed-- a Sentinel. People began to scatter and scream. Though everything wasn't real, some of the chaos lingered within Kitty's mind to believe it was real. Once Bishop gave her an order, Kitty affirmed, "Right!" She sprinted across the scene, finding many who were injured. Scanning over the crowd, she wondered if she should get the uninjured ones to safety, or bring the hurt ones out of the whole mess. Either way, Kitty ran up to someone, saw he was hurt. One had broken his leg, nearly in two, and Kitty grabbed his arm and lifted it around her shoulders to support him.

A gigantic plasma bullet aimed and shot for the pair. "Hold your breath." Kitty told the man as she swiftly turned them transparent. The shot was soon launched; however, Kitty wouldn't have given it an extra thought because she was currently phasing, but there were others in the crossfire. Biting her lower lip, she hurled herself and the man over to the group, having everyone make physical contact in order to have the bullet pass through. "Come on, everyone!" Kitty called once the heat had risen. "Follow me!"

[Cyclops]

The paf that Jubilee sent at the Sentinel blinded it for a few moments, causing it to lose its ability to aim very well at all, and it mostly just hit the buildings, but Cyclops made sure to keep an eye out, shooting an ocular blast at any pecies of rubble that threatend to land on someone. He didn't know what exactly Jubilee was planning to do while Bishop covered her, but Cyclops wasn't about to snuff out any chance that Jubilee had to get more experience, it was only a simulation, nobody's lives were in danger.

Cyclops nodded, silently seconding Bishop's suggestion to Kitty. He knew that Bishop was on of their best tacticians, and Cyclops knew that if he were to go missing, that Bishop would make a good replacement. He glanced over at Kitty for a moment, who was getting everyone to safety, and doing a good job of it too. He gave his attention back to the Sentinel, it was recovering from Jubilee's blinding effect. Cyclops sent a few more ocular blasts at it, aiming to take its attention off of anyone else.
