Super Powers: Super strength, sonic speed, enhanced durability.
Echo possesses powered armor that gives him superhuman strength and durability, as well as super speed. Similar to Tony Stark, Michael has created a variety of suits. The one he wears most commonly is his Standard suit, which gives him super speed, strength, and durability, and comes with twin energy sabers that can connect at the hilt. His Power Armor is simply an advanced version of Standard. His Supreme Armor is far more powerful than either of his other suits, but lacks one saber. However, Supreme has a large arm cannon on the left arm. This armor also has the ability to fly, unlike the previous ones. Though Supreme is more powerful, it’s also much larger, making it harder to move around in—this is the suit Mike wears most often when facing a larger stronger opponent.
Learned Abilities: Expert in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, and a very impressive engineer.
Equipment: Twin Sabers when in Standard and/or Power, and single saber and arm cannon while in Supreme.
Weaknesses (Must Have): Magnetism
Background: Michael Jay Watz was born on June 22nd in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. As a child Mike enjoyed all kinds of activities. He liked playing baseball, doing karate and other fighting styles, but what he loved more than anything was figuring out how things worked. He would take things apart, like remotes, stereos, and other items, and try to see how they worked. It never took him long to figure something out, even though he was just a kid.
By age 10 Mike’s parents, Raymond & Shelly, had sent him away to a private school where he could get the attention he needed. At his old school in New Orleans Michael was soaring pass the other children academically, and had already skipped two grades.
By the time he reached 14 he had already graduated high school, and was moving on to college—MIT to be exact. As a freshman Mike designed the Twin Sabers he eventually used for his Echo Mechanical Armor. The energy blades of his Twin Sabers had the ability to slice through titanium without difficulty, and the Power Twin Sabers he made a few months later were almost 50% more powerful, and had the ability to send out arches of energy when swung correctly.
During his time at MIT Michael began studying the hero known as IronMan, and made up his mind to design a suit just as he had. At age 16, with help from his fathers company, Watz Tech Inc., Michael made his very own power suit. He called the creation EMA, or Echo Mechanical Armor. The reason for the ‘echo’ in the name was because when someone wore the suit they could move fast enough to break the sound barrier for approximately 5-seconds while using the jet boots.
Even though Mike spent a lot of time working on his personal projects he still managed to get to his martial arts classes every other day, and retain a bit of a social life. However, his social life was usually spent with his professors, and a few exceptional students. Their time together was mostly spent talking about theories, new projects, and whatnot.
One night while he was out with one of his friends at a little cafe he heard a loud explosion from far off. No one was sure what it was until a special report popped up on the TV set that was mounted on the wall behind the counter. The woman on the TV said that a mutant calling himself Reckoning had started terrorizing the city. Mike didn’t hesitate; he knew what he had to do. He rushed out the door, and got to his dorm as fast as possible. Once there he put on the EMA, and then made a mad dash for where Reckoning was reported to be. When he got to the scene he saw that the mutant had pretty well laid waste to the area. When Reckoning saw Michael he thought that he had to be the local hero-wanna-be.
“Let me guess, you’ve come to stop me, huh?” Reckoning said as he lowered himself to the ground.
“That’s right. You picked the wrong town to terrorize.” Mike replied.
“Well pipsqueak, you got a name?”
“Uh…” Michael wasn’t sure what to say. He couldn’t just use his regular name, he needed a codename of sorts. He kept running names through his head, but nothing seemed to fit, that is until he thought about his suit. “Echo.” He finally answered.
“Echo, huh? Well Echo, let’s see what you’ve got.” Said Reckoning.
The two fought fiercely, wreaking a little more havoc in the process, and in the end Echo came out on top. Realizing that he couldn’t win, Reckoning fled.
Michael went back to MIT to fix up his suit. The mutant was stronger than he had anticipated, and his armor had taken heavy damage. It was then that he realized he would need a better armor if he was going to continue doing that sort of thing. So, after several months Michael completed the EMA Power, an advanced version of his EMA Standard. He had used the original Twin Sabers with his first EMA, but second time around he chose to use the Power Twin Sabers, and he amplified all the abilities of the armor to make the Power Armor superior in every way. He also installed a type of image-inducer in the helmet that would change the color of his eyes and hair—that was pretty much just for kicks.
As time went on Michael started going out as Echo more and more, fighting common criminals and super villains alike, all the while trying to graduate. Everything was going fine in Watz’s life until he got word of Reckoning being in Louisiana. Without a second thought he put on the Power Armor, and headed for Louisiana. With the speed of the EMA Power it didn’t take him a very long time to reach his destination. Upon arriving he saw that Reckoning had blown the city to pieces. It was far worse than what he had done up north—there wasn’t a single building left standing.
As Michael walked through the city, looking at the damage that had been done he soon found himself in the middle of a fight with a fire-throwing mutant named Burner. It seemed that Reckoning had found himself a teammate. After defeating Burner Echo beat Reckoning’s location out of him…Watz Tech Inc. headquarters in Baton Rouge.
Echo arrived at the large tower his father owned just in time to see the sadistic mutant kill his dad with a single blast to the head.
“No!!” Michael screamed.
Reckoning turned around, and saw Mike standing there with his eyes wide and jaw hanging open. “Echo… Or should I say Michael? Either way, glad you could make it.”
The two fought once more, but this time it was Michael who was forced to flee. Reckoning had grown stronger, much stronger, and even with his Power Armor he wasn’t powerful enough to defeat him.
After returning to MIT Michael got to work on a new armor. He knew Reckoning would be looking for him, and he couldn’t be unprepared. So, he took someone into his confidence: his mechanical engineering professor, Cole Orchid. Prof. Orchid was only about 26-years-old, and was like Mike in a lot of ways, so he figured he would be the perfect person to help him with his new project. The two of them worked non-stop, and only hours before Reckoning arrived at MIT they had completed the EMA Supreme. The saber they had made for it was a whole foot longer, and the left arm was equipped with a powerful cannon. The armor itself was twice as durable as the previous models, and its strength was also greater. It wasn’t as agile as the other ones, but it could fly, which was going to come in handy against Reckoning. By the time Reckoning got there Michael had already tested the new suit, and was ready to fight. Despite the mutant’s newfound power he was no match for the Supreme Armor. Mike got revenge on Reckoning for killing his father by running his new saber right through his gut.
A few days after his dad’s funeral he put the finishing touches on the EMA Supreme, such as paint, and an image-inducer for fun. Then, after graduating at 17 he took over his father’s business, unofficially, and also made a name for himself as the superhero called Echo. It wasn't long before WW III came about, and The Untouchables were made to fight the war. Mike, however, chose to stay in the USA. He figured that the super villains and crime bosses would see this war as nothing more than an opportunity to take over. So, he stayed behind, and watched over his country as best as he could with so many heroes away at war.
Things were pretty hectic for a while, but when the war started to come to end they settled down little by little. Currently Echo is setting up a new office in New York City to expand his company, and hopefully meet the famous Tony Stark.
Personality: Mike’s a fairly nice guy most of the time, but is easily angered. He’s quite quick to jump into battle, whether it’s because someone pissed him off, or he’s just in the mood for a fight, or he is trying to help/save somebody. He is a fairly humorous person, and likes to have fun when he can. However, he’s also very serious, and there are just certain matters he does not take lightly. Echo has times when he talks almost unceasingly, and times when he hardly says a word—it usually depends on what kind of mood he’s in.

Brief Sample Roleplay
Mike walked down the street in his Standard Armor, just doing a little routine check-up on the area. His long silver hair shimmered slightly in the light of the moon as it moved back and forth with each step he took. Everything seemed fine, which often meant that it was quite the opposite. It was late into the night, and it appeared as though he was the only soul around.
~Why do I get this feeling like I'm walking into a trap?~ He thought to himself.
Suddenly a large ring of fire surrounded him, and he could hear a laugh not far outside the circle.
"Ah! Because I am!" Echo thought aloud, and then glanced abount, trying to spot the one who had set him up. ~This is just great.~
