"And that is all you could have done, is tried. You can not fight that creature... Not the way you were going about it. You silly idiotic child." She fixed him with a dark glare, still standing over the doctor with her hands near her guns, she didn't draw. Two modes of training conflicted in her head, the first implored that she draw her gun, find a chink in his armor, and remove the threat immediately. The second was far more amiable approach, best not to involve civilians in fights, it could only bring bad press.
He kept going, he just wouldn't shut up, would he? "Well, I have always felt that when civilian lives are in danger one should act to protect them. So, since that now constitutes... what was that lovely colloquialism you spit out? Doing whatever the heck I like, I guess it's probably the truth." Her eyes were still narrowed but she'd adopted a caustic smile, the sort that burned the paint from cars. The smile slipped away the seocnd his weapons system engaged and in the blink of an eye her pistols were in her hands and raised level. She was going to look this one up when she was on a base next time, see if maybe she couldn't get a warrant out for his arrest... if she didn't shoot him first. No one threatened Natalia Romanova.
And then he walked away, which was better for everyone in the end. She holstered the guns and looked back at the scientist and then up at Juggernaut. "He's tough, yeah, it's lucky I was around when I was..." She thought about it for a few minutes, pensive, "I don't know, I'll probably take him to my place. SOP is to bring him to a base but... well, I think it'll be easier to keep him calm out of the holding facilities. Then I'll need to call in a clean-up crew, of course..." She smiled slightly at him, the first smile that wasneither caustic nor dangerous, "Thanks for the help, Juggernaut, it's good to know I've got at least one friend in this pit of a city." She cast a wary look at the retreating wolf man and shoot her head. "Well, we can't all be goody good heroes can we? Idiots..."
