Kyoudai was standing in the library with a book on werewolves in his big right hand. The book was opened to the first few pages as the lycan read the words, which were in a strange font, a look of slight disgust on his face.
Silent Wolf was dressed in his indian-style pants, a white T-shirt that gripped his well toned body, and sandals. ~The creatures commonly referred to as 'werewolves' are not, to popular belief, a race of men who had been bitten by some kind of wolf. No. The werewolves came from the underworld, and were actually a rare species of demon that had bread with wolves.~ He recited the words in his mind as he read them. "Where do people come up with this trash?" He thought aloud as he closed the book, and then slid it back into its place.
Kyoudai had been at the library for a while, looking for books on lycan. Over the course of time he had lost contact with many of his descendants, but that's to be expected when your family extends to lengths as great as an entire species. He had hoped to find a book on and/or by one of his lost relatives, even though he knew it was a long shot. He had come across a lot of novels and supposed fact-books on his kind, even one on 'the first lycan'--the moron didn't even get his name right. Silent Wolf wondered if anyone besides himself and his oldest descendant really knew how the lycans came to be. He also wondered how many of his kind were still alive.

Lupine scrutinized the Lycan carefully, his eyes checking the man's body, height, weight and eyes, checking him against the description he had got from his Secret Services informant in the government. Satisfied, he walked closer to the Lycan, and politely coughed to get his attention.
When the Lycan was facing him, Lupine smiled a smile that could only be called wolfish. "Greetings, Silent Wolf. I know who you are, the fact that you are a Lycanothrope, otherwise known to the layman as a Werewolf. I am Solomon Grey, a fellow Lycan and CEO of Grey Corps. I am here to cut you a deal."
Lupine was wearing his usual suit and white silk shirt today, and he moved like he was giving a slick business presentation, which in a sense he was. The voice was quick, practiced and intelligent. "I noted the book you are reading: As a collector of the classics, including the obscure one, I have read many books from medieval times to modern day talking about Lycans. Utter falsehood, of course."
"But I know how frustrated you must be. Treated as a demon simply because of what you are. And what good is a Hero when you're not trusted? None. So if you join my small special forces group in my company, I will put you somewhere where you can have effect. No more relying on what those petty humans are thinking: you can now actually show them how much better you are than them."
Lupine spread his arms out wide. "Any questions, dear sir? Or do you hastily accept?"

"No good comes from quick decisions." Silent Wolf stated as he stared at the man. He was a preeminently large figure, even compared to Kyoudai. Though the lycan King was 6'3", this Solomon Grey fellow towered over it at about 7-feet from the looks of him. But, even though Solomon was obviously larger Silent Wolf felt no intimidation whatsoever. He sniffed at the man twice, and then looked into his eyes as he scoffed. "Lycan indeed." He said with a faint smirk, and then shook his head slowly.

"Lycan indeed." He said with a faint smirk, and then shook his head slowly. Lupine sighed slowly. It seemed that this Lycan was more perceptive than he'd thought at first, or he had some way of detecting if someone was a Lycan. Either way, Lupine thought he could convince the Lycan that Lupine had made a mistake in calling himself a Lycan. Feigning mild confusion, Lupine spoke. "I do apologize: have I made a mistake? A Lycan is someone with both human and wolf in them, are they not? Lycanothropes, the werewolfs, are special breeds of this set of people, or so I've heard." Lupine watched Silent Wolf carefully to see how he reacted to this lie: he still had a Plan C if that failed, but he'd rather not rely something as unreliable as it. Continuing his offer, Lupine's voice changed back to it's usual gentleman's drawl. "I am not asking you to make a decision now. You can take all the time you want. But I think I should provide you with more details before I attempt to recruit you again." "Your job would involve going out on missions for me, but mostly you will be protecting the city I live in, Gotham. There is a disease in this city, in the form of superpowered villains that the police are frankly hopeless at dealing with. Batman, the man dubbed 'The Dark Knight', is an efficient protector but he cannot be everywhere. Your job would to be to police various areas, helping them as you see fit without any interfering from my company apart from discussing your plans for that area. If you accept, you would be the authority, and could protect people without having to answer to a government that sees all werewolfs as deadly demons to be eradicated. You will have a chance to show the humans how good you are." Lupine raised a eyebrow. "Any questions?"

Silent Wolf looked at Mr. Grey, and shook his head in response to his question about lycan. ~This man knows almost as little about lycan as the fools who write those books~ He thought to himself. It was possible that Solomon was a werewolf of some type, most likely a very late descendant. That would explain the odd scent, and the fact that he appeared to have lost control over his power of transformation.
The young-looking lycan listened closely to what Grey said, only half-way believing what the man was saying. He wasn't sure what it was but there was something about this fellow that he didn't trust. The opportunity to become a respected hero sounded too good, and too easy. "Just wondering where the strings are." He replied.

Lupine smiled, showing a single sharp but clean canine. "Why, there are quite a few strings. I'm glad you asked: anybody who accepts someone on their word is not as half as useful to me as someone who doesn't."
Lupine began to walk, motioning for the Lycan to follow him, and continued to talk. "While I will not directly interfere in your methods, I will demand results often and I will want, to quote some examples, to see sharp declines in the murder rate, drug use and supply and assault rate in the areas you are looking after. It won't be an easy job. Also, it is most likely that you will still be hated by many, with honestly; but this time you will be the authorities, and so that hated will not be official government policy. You will have to bear the mark of Grey Corps., too, so people can recognize who you work for, in a way. And, it is still possible you might gain some respect, if you do well. I don't think there's much there you will have to make complaints about."
Lupine's eyes stared straight ahead, no longer focusing on Silent Wolf but on his brief. He had to make sure that he didn't use this lycan in operations outside of Gotham: Lupine was not anywhere near above using illegal or immoral means to help himself or Gotham, but in Gotham his motives would find little fault with anybody.
"The major problem you are most likely to have is with various operations I will send you, among with others, to complete in Gotham. You will need to obey orders as soon as you receive them and with efficiency: the missions will need too much skill and too little time to use it in for questions. You can, however, ask questions before and after the operation, and if you request one I will give you a profile of the target. You will, of course, receive a briefing and debriefing among with the rest of the team."
Lupine arrived at a small table he had set up, with a bottle of red wine and two glasses at the table. If you looked at the glasses you would see that they were larger than normal and slightly convex, tailor-made for Lupine's claws. Lupine sat down, poured a small measure of the wine into both glasses, and smelt his wine.
"A Chervot '94. Very rare and unique. Do try some. Now, do you have any questions?

Silent Wolf followed the large man, remaining silent. He said nothing for quite some time, just thinking about what Mr. Grey was saying. He watched the wolf-like man pour the wine, and just looked at it with apathy. "A Chervot '94. Very rare and unique. Do try some. Now, do you have any questions?" Kyoudai shook his head a bit, and looked into the man's eyes and spoke firmly. "A statement." He said. "Don't cross me, and you shan't be crossed." With that said he extended his right hand to make the deal.

((OOC: Now you've accepted, should we move to a thread in Gotham about your new job or anything similar?))
When Silent Wolf looked into his eyes, Lupine felt both irked and intrigued. Irked because the Lycan's eyes were older, wiser and more experienced than any other eyes he had seen, more than his, and the idea that someone could be better than him in an intellectual way was not one he was used to. But Lupine was intrigued for the same reasons: this man, or Lycan, looked like he would be quite good company and very efficient at protecting Gotham. Lupine smiled, took a sip of his wine, savoring it, and shook the Lycan's hand.
"However, I'm afraid you will need to sign a contract, but that is all" He said. "I will assign you to the south-easterly part of Gotham after you have been legally accepted and taken your pick of the equipment offered to you. Would you like to know more about the specifics of your job, or shall we go to my headquarters now? It is your choice: I can explain on the way; I have transport, if you would be as kind as to accept it."
Lupine nodded with respect to the Lycan, took another sip of his wine, feeling the rich taste on his tongue.

(OOC: Yeah. You can go ahead and make another topic in Gotham)
"A lycan's word is binding. Paper and ink means nothing." Silent Wolf said firmly. He hated contracts. He hated the fact that people no longer trusted anyone enough to take their word, but what he hated even more was the fact that they had good reason not to. Humans were an untrustworthy race. "You choose where we go." Kyoudai didn't much care where they went from there, so long as everything turned out to be as he believed it to be.
