It was just nerves. Yeah, nerves. Standing on the tallest building again the night sky, the classic loner hero pose Batman made famous was now Henry Pym's pose. His black and yellow costume gleamed into the night sky, melding in and sticking out in all the right places. The size-changing hero had yet to see hide or hair of the Atom yet, which he considered a shame. He'd heard of the Atom being a scientist as well, and wanted to meet someone on his level.
The man called Yellowjacket kept an eagle eye over Ivy Town, his cybernetics tuned in on ants stationed outside the Ivy Town Musuem, the two banks, the Ivy Town Research Centre and in the main street. The commute to each area was no problem, it was the waiting for something to happen. See, the good Doctor Pym went to war with the rest of the Untouchables, but he wasn't one to talk about it. He served on the intelligence branch, garnering information off of computers was easy. What he was required to do was sometimes frightening.
With a thought he pushed back the memories. He was not proud of what he saw in those days. Just like he was not proud to be standing in costume once more. He'd wanted to stop playing Avenger. He wanted to try to be just Hank Pym for a while. Pym retreated into deep thought for a moment.
A cybernetic cry brought him back to the world of now. The ants he'd stationed outside the First National Bank were going wild. They'd seen something, and it was Hank's time to shine.
He took a flying leap off the building he had remained on for most of the night and let his wings vibrate, carrying him into flight. He soared off, flying towards the Ivy Town First National Bank. Flying over the small city, he managed to land in front of the bank. Onlookers of all kinds looked at him land. Half of them cheering. Half of them acting like he was there to rob the bank himself.
It was when the thieves exited that Hank finally got a look at what he was dealing with. Some goons, nothing fancy. The goons wore green jumpsuits with hourglass logos on them. That however didn't matter to Yellowjacket.
It was an afterthough by now. A foot-first leap into the goons, knocking them down. A few bio-disruptor blasts to knock them out, and a right hook to the lead goon's jaw.
It never took long with goons, even with Hank's minimal training. He was just happy to not have to use his powers. He preferred it this way.
However the crowd was not amused. One of them shouted 'brutality' over and over. Others clapped and cheered and said he was 'untouchable'. Hank tended to agree with the angry side of the crowd. After what he'd seen, he didn't think he was a hero either.
Both sides of the crowd were silent when four more goons exited. These ones armed with futuristic looking guns and aware of what was going on. They wore the same green jumpsuits, with protective goggles and aimed at Yellowjacket like there was no tomorrow...
