The smell of brimstone filled his nostrils as his lips curled in a sneer. The smell was repulsive, and it reminded him of the Blue Devil. Orange eyes closed as he pulled out a cigarette, igniting it with his firery breath. It was Rose that introduced him to cigarettes. She wasn't an influence in his decision to smoke, though. It was his own choice.
As he took a long drag, a laughter filled his ears. Looking down he spotted a gang dressed up like clowns messing with some guy he never seen before. Jumping down Eddie kicked the nearest one "What are you guys circus rejects?" He asked as he ducked under a fist.

Piotr could not quite recall exactly what had brought him across the country to the city that seemed to show very few signs of having just survived a painful and brutal war. Yet, the large Russian felt as though a brisk walk through the heart of the city would do him a great deal of good. It did help him clear his mind onto other, less chaotic things.
But, that was before a strange smell assaulted his nostrils and had him clenching his fists at his sides. One would think him slightly paranoid for wearing his uniform in his unarmored form, but as he ran forward and spotted the commotion ahead, he was glad that he had thought ahead. Clowns filled his vision as he transformed, his eyes changing from a bright ocean blue to a steely silver.
"Ah, it seems that the action rests here tonight." He walked forward confidently as he noticed that the clowns were assaulting a man. Colossus merely picked one up and threw him into a crowd of the others. "You clown around, comrade!" He bellowed as he let out a hearty chuckle.

Helena Bertinelli sure got around. She was sent to San Francisco just yesterday by the newly engaged Batman on some retarted mission she didn't even understand. Why Dick or Tim couldn't do it? She had no clue. Helena needed some fun time and what better way to get your adrenaline pumping then some crime-fighting?
Now dressed as the Huntress, Helena stood atop a tall building in the heart of San Fran. She spotted, using her binoculars, a red-skinned man taking down some clown goons. Huntress decided to have some fun. She pulled out her crossbow and attached a long rope to the arrow.
Huntress stood up and fired the crossbow at the red-skinned man. The arrow pierced the man's cigarette and the arrow attached to the wall. She laughed at the man's shock. Huntress held her crossbow and jumped off the roof. She slid down to the ground using the rope. Huntress clipped the rope and put her crossbow away.
"Surprised?" she asked with a smile. Huntress proceeded to kick one of the goons jaw. She picked one of them up by his collar and threw him into the van they were loading drugs onto. The window-shield shattered as the portly man crashed through it. Huntress landed an uppercut to another's jaw and elbowed him to the ground.

"More like annoyed that was my last cigarette." Kid Devil said looking at Huntress then over to Colossus "Friend of yours?" He asked before he got punched in the stomach by one of the clown freaks causing fire to erupt from Kid Devil's mouth setting the man and anyone else nearby on fire. It took him a bit to get his fire breath under control again "Sorry..." He said watching the people run around screaming trying to find water to put them selfs out. Oh man I'm never gonna hear the end of this. he thought knowing he was going to get yelled at again.

As Colossus turned his attention to the two people that he suddenly noticed were not dressed as clowns, fire seemed to abrupt from the strange looking one's mouth. It danced over his skin mockingly, but had no effect as he was armored. Men and women alike ran about screaming, as they were partially on fire.
Alarmed and worried that the fire could get out of control, he stomped over to a fire hydrant and kicked it until water began to burst out of the top of it like some majestical geyser. The pressure was so great that it seemed to make the water merely gently sprinkly over nearly everything in sight.
"Another crisis has been averted." Proud, he turned and squatted a clown away as he made his way over to where a woman stood near the strange, dare he say, man. "You wish for me to eliminate these so-called clowns?" As if on cue, one ran forward and lunged toward the three, only to be smashed in the chest by a gargantuan fist and thrown some dozen feet away.

"Don't kill 'em. They still haven't talked," Huntress said with a smirk. She turned and round-house kicked one of the goon's jaw. She dodged out of the way so she wouldn't be hit by the goon the silver man threw. Huntress looked up at him with shock. She shook her head and jumped back onto her feet.
"By the way, watch where you sneeze next time! You nearly shrivled me to dust!" Huntress sneered. She pulled out her twin pistols and shot a goon's ankle and another's thigh. Putting them away, Huntress jumped into the air. She came down on top of a goon.

"I didn't sneeze I was punched in the stomach." Kid Devil replied looking around at the fallen clowns "But thanks for the help and you owe a pack of cigarettes." He said still angry that she harpooned his last one to the wall he hardly got to smoke the thing in the first place. "So what brings a Russian and a chick with angry issues here this lovely night?" He asked the two.

"I make my way around, that's al you need to know devil boy. I don't owe you anything, smoking is a nasty habit. I don't recommend it," Huntress said with a dirty look. She wasn't liking this red-skinned boy right now and she was hoping things would change or else he'd be wishing she hadn't stopped by. She crossed her arms and waited for something to happen.

Shadows cloaked Mask from view. There were three in front of him, four behind him. Three heroes before him, mingling like they always did. And four of his men behind him, swords, knives and lint stocked up in their mobile inventory. Out of the three, the Russian X-Man known as Colossus, a red devil-like child, who Mask knew as Kid Devil and the most important of them all. The purple clothed, vigilante and pupil of Batman... Huntress. And tonight...
... Mask had his eye on her. Both eyes in fact.

"Don't you find it a little funny telling a guy who breaths fire that smoking is bad for him?" Hawkeye said as she walked with bow in hand she had been watching them from one of the roof tops and took out the few that got away. Hawkeye suddenly turned her head from one side to the other like she was looking for something then looked back at the others "Am I the only one who feels like we're being watched?" She asked.

Peace was never acquired here. As the new heroine, Hawkeye from the glance, entered the scene, Kröener frowned. Taking Huntress would be more complicated with a fine markswoman here. As he was about to throw a gas grenade into the circle of heroes, he stopped himself. A little more watching.
As it would be interesting to observe what they did. You never knew when it would come in handy. So Kröener waited...

"Who are you?" Huntress said as the woman approached the group. She pulled out her mini crossbow, cocked it, and aimed at the woman's head. She wasn't going to take any chances, not this time. Huntress could hear a goon slowly running towards her from behind. Without loosing her aim, Huntress elbowed the approaching goon's nose and heard him fall to the ground.
"You ever think maybe the person watching you is us? After all, you have all of our attention!" Huntress said with a smirk. Now that the woman mentioned it, she had been feeling like someone was watching her but Huntress merely assumed it was this woman that was watching her. She still, deep down inside, felt like someone was watching her. Huntress felt nervous, like the calm before a storm.

The time was ready. Kröener dropped a mysterious ball, releasing white fog into the area. His men, whom were stationed around the area, leaped down from their hiding positions, taking the clown-faced rogues back to where they had hid from. It was only the heroes left. Kröener and his other remaining men had stripped the alley of it's objects, bins, paper, everything. Why he did so? That was unknown. And for the final touch, the lights went out. Thanks to another of his men who had cut the power. The fog was gone and the whole area...
...plunged into darkness. Along with a killer on their tail.
