Appearance:The Blue Beetle wears a blue on blue costume with a wrap around beetle design. He has a pair of yellowish goggles which he wears with his costume. Ted Kord has a tall, muscular build and slightly chiseled facial features. He is almost always clean shaven and has wavy auburn hair that is medium length. He has very blue eyes. Overall, he's a pretty good looking guy.

Equipment:
* Kord created numerous gadgets, including suction pads, sight-enhancing lenses and a protective costume.
* He also created a power armor suit for his friend Booster Gold; the suit contained a fully functioning artificial arm, and also provided life-support for Booster as he recovered from potentially fatal injuries. He later converted a suit of alien armor for Booster to use.
* His BB gun was a handheld weapon that could blind villains with a flash of light, or knock them out with a compressed air blast capable of felling a charging rhino. The original BB gun was designed with a security feature, so that it would function only when the Blue Beetle held it, becoming inactive without contact with special circuitry in the Beetle costume's gloves.
* Blue Beetle's airship, the Bug, contained high tech equipment, could electrify or magnetize its hull, fire electrical energy and could fly at 600 mph. All models had booster jets hidden under the shell of the Bug. The boosters on the first two models could speed the Bug up to the speed of sound for a short period of time, no time limit was ever given for how long the burst lasted. Later models the boosters where used for intercontinental travel at supersonic speed. It was also 90% solar powered. Later models also had energy weapons of various types from lasers to plasma. The last two models were capable of being able to reach orbit (L.A.W #6, Infinate Crisis #5). All models were remote controllable from controls built into Kord's gloves.
* He also built flight pads similar to Mr Miracle's flight discs (Extreme Justice), and claimed to Barbara Gordon that he could keep the Birds of Prey jet flying 24-7 with technology based on the New Gods' Mother Boxes (Countdown to Infinite Crisis).
Weaknesses (Must Have):
Blue Beetle has no actual superpowers, and is suceptable to being seriously injured or killed. He also has his share of health problems, some stemming from the callenge he faces with maintaining a healthy weight.
Background: Ted Kord has a pretty interesting personality. On the one hand he has a very keen mind and is a responsible business man, a billionaire inventor. On the other hand he is always up for a good laugh and is always ready with some sort of wisecracking comment. He is generally a nice guy, but has his share of stressful moments and isn't always to contain himself.
Personality :
An archaeology student Ted Kord discovered that his tutor and mentor Dan Garrett was the obscure hero Blue Beetle and helped him defeat a great menace. Garrett was fatally injured in battle, and Ted swore to carry on the tradition. Although he had no super-powers, he used his intellect and resources to great various gadgets to aid him in his fight against crime. He became a member of the Justice League where he was known as much for his humour and his friendship with Booster Gold as for his heroism. He later retired, partly due to a losing battle with his waistline, but a friendship with Barbara Gordon, Oracle, re-awoke the desire to help others, and despite some serious health problems, he has returned to action alongside several of his old comrades.

Brief Sample Roleplay
Ted Kord was in a bit of a hurry. He rushed into his apartment and threw off his business suit. Millionaire by day, costumed hero by night. Wasn't that always the case? He began slipping into his costume in seconds, squeezing into the two-toned blue threads as quickly as he could. He had just gotten a call from Booster, and it seemed pretty serious. The Blue Beetles was needed.
"Here we go!", Ted said excitedly as he he exited the window of his upscale apartment, clibing in to the Bug that hovered outside.
He rushed into the control seat and zoomed into the night sky.
