Cannon or your own: My own!

Characters civilian name: Gwen Stratford
Code names/Aliases: Shockwave
Class [Superhero, Vigilante, Mercenary..ect]: Superhero, well, she'd like to think so.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Gender: Female
Age: 19 in-a-half
Apparent Age: ...19?
Hair: Gwen's hair falls in soft waves around her face, ending at mid-back. It is colored a bold scarlet, which has naturally given her the nick-name 'Ms. Scarlet' by many old friends from the board game, Clue.
Eyes: Her eyes are a dull grey, something she is truly ashamed of. Most others eyes are an alluring green, dazzling blue or deep, beautiful brown-- but no, Gwen got boring ol' greys.
Height and weight: 5'6 and 143 lbs.
Appearance: Gwen Stratford was born with that adorable face along with a petite body. She was always regarded as 'a cute one' along with other 'goochy-goochy-goo' names, but once she hit 16, her round face elongated along with her body. Her skin is fair, almost too fair. It is nearly always burnt with the sun. This is probably because the electricity constantly shifting in her body does not allow much color to form on the surface of the skin. Her eyes are grey, contrasting with her bright scarlet locks. Though no one really notices, she is missing her pinky toe on her left foot. Because of this 'horrible deformity', she never walks around barefoot or in sandals.
On that note, she's usually seen with dark, baggy, cargo pants that overflow over her shoes, making her look messy and unrefined. Gwen wears whatever shirts she finds that day. But never, ever, will she wear a uniform. (So she thinks.)

Super Powers: Gwen Stratford acquired powers dealing with electricity. More specifically, through touch. It's more of a natural static, and when in physical contact with her, a slight shock is transferred. Gwen can (well, eventually) control how severe the jolt.
Learned Abilities: Because Gwen is determined to make a name for herself in the super-hero world, she attempted to take up martial arts, but she is lacking in any talent whatsoever. No self discipline. Sigh. If anyone's up for teaching, just let her know! Haha.
Equipment: She carries a long, metal pole on her belt, which is merely the size of a credit card until electricity makes contact with it. Then, it can reach out four feet. This helps her with being able to use her powers without making close contact.
Weaknesses (Must Have): To be frank, Gwen Stratford has many weaknesses, mostly dealing with the psychological department. Gwen can get very wrapped into small things, so if you overwhelm her, you've got her down. She also takes in more that she can handle, which sends her into a downward spiral of anxiety.
And it's not like she's extremely strong in her body department. One strong punch in the face, and it's a strong possibility she'll be knocked out completely.
Background: Gwen Stratford came from a loving, healthy family. She lived in a very, very small town in Wisconsin, where everyone knew everything about everyone. Her mother and father are both from Sweedish descent, leaving Gwen with frightening white qualities. She was born originally with pale, golden hair. Her parents were always supportive of everything Gwen wanted to do. The parents were honestly perfect in every way. Gwen wanted the feeling of being punished when she was only being forgiven. She began to search for ways to have her parents frown upon her. Martha and Ben Stratford never once noticed the pedestal they were accidentally putting Gwen on, which led her to force herself into self-injury. Meaning Gwen's friends watched Gwen climb up the aged, wooden pole, planning on jumping onto the powerlines for the feeling of the electricity. Her friends fled to Martha and Ben to try and help her, but they were only able to watch the girl of eight years fall onto the wires. The wires ripped from the pole due to the unusual weight, leaving Gwen to tangle herself up in the power lines. She nearly died; however, she recovered unusually quickly. Tests were done and found no traces of anything suspicious. Her hair that was once golden triggered the rare gene of red. And whenever she kissed her mother and hugged her father, they were shocked, leaving them dumbfounded, and ultimately, afraid.
Once Gwen Stratford's parents began to treat her differently due to her static status, Gwen rejected the new attention. She became a problem child (or was finally realized as one) and caused the usual issues an angry, troublesome child would, just with electricity flowing through her veins.
As Gwen got older, things got easier, and eventually she dropped her selfish stage of childhood. At her high school graduation, since Gwen was so excited, when she shook the Dean's hand, he passed out immediately, causing a huge ruckus. This caused everyone she knew to become either extremely afraid of her oddity, or become religiously interested. Either way, the attention Gwen received was rejected in embarrassment, and confidence issues.
To get away from her reputation as a murderer and a freak, Gwen moved away. And since she found herself in the city, more and more things became apparent. She's not alone.
Personality: Gwen Stratford is definitely someone who is complex and extremely challenging to assess. But to analyze-- it's a piece of cake. Gwen is confident in most cases-- more like overly confident. Sometimes she acts arrogant and self-centered to cover up her insecurity.
If you asked Gwen what her favorite color is, she would reply "All of them!!" because she is indecisive, not because she likes all colors. She never distances herself from anyone and is always talking, because she's worried she'll be forgotten. Gwen drowns people in compliments to make them confident, so they'll do the same for her in return. She's just a regular angst-filled teen, looking for someone that will listen; someone that will give her a chance to show that she's not all negative qualities. Especially because of her constant issues with her electricity. Her search for someone to help her-- there's gotta be someone!
Gwen is kind, and she loves variety. Her outgoing personality, though a little over dramatic, usually pulls the average Joe inward and gets them talking as well. She always seems to ask everyone for help. She hates the feeling of being a burden.
But other than that, Gwen is basically the annoying, overly-friendly person who is always in the way.
Gwen also strives for her own entertainment. She makes fun of people, she makes fun of herself, and she basically cracks jokes in general that fail-- poor attempts at comedy, but she always laughs at her own jokes, so she finds herself successful.
Other: She can't control her powers, so basically she's a little lame in the power department. She practices, though!

Sample RP:
"Hello? Er, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello?
Gwen Stratford's loud, eccentric voice echoed throughout the halls of the Titan's Tower. Why had Gwen, of all people, show up there? She was asking that, herself. For one- She needed a place to stay. And aren't the Titans required to take the homeless in?? Being the good citizens they are?
Of course not, you idiot.
Gwen sighed dejectedly as she heard nothing but silence from inside the Tower. She leaned back against the large, strong walls and dropped herself down. Rocks crackled underneath her shoes, and Gwen landed on the dirt below with a thump. She hoped the Titans would come back, wherever they were. Gwen pouted her lips and crossed her arms. After a moment of sitting still, she released her position, only to leave Gwen staring at her hands.
"If only these didn't exist."
A melancholy caw from a crow above called. Gwen shot her grey eyes upwards and watched the shape cross the sky. "Oh come ON!" She grunted and rose to her feet. "Their loss!" She announced loudly, waving her arms around in emphasis. Gwen smiled wide and decided to wait until the Titans returned. Because they will return.
