Appearance: Piotr has the build of a man that takes very good care of his body. He is tall, broad-shouldered, and sculpted in the very best of manners. Most consider him to be a bit of a giant when they first see him, as he is very tall, muscular, and domineering in stature. In his armored form, Colosuss’ skin is converted into an organic steel, which means that he takes on a silver-ish/metal appearance. In his armored form, even his eyes are silver.

Super Powers: Colossus has the superhuman ability to convert the tissue of his skin into an organic steel-like substance that grants him super strength and a great deal of resistance to bodily harm. In fact, his super strength allows him to easily lift 100 tons, an impressive amount. He is able to transform into this armored state at will, granting him unbelievable control over his mutation. The conversion from flesh and bone to organic steel is accomplished by a psionic whole-brain interface with an ionic form of osmium, an extremely dense metal, located in another dimension. In willing the act of transformation, Colossus actually exchanges osmium atoms for his carbon atoms. The psionic interface with the other dimension re-creates all of Colossus's body in functionally similar organic ionic-osmium materials. The process by which Colossus gains additional mass from an unknown, perhaps extra-dimensional, force remains unknown. Colossus cannot become partially or selectively armored; his body is either entirely converted or not. Even his eyes become steel-like and are capable of resisting a .45 caliber bullet. Ionic osmium does not oxidize under normal Earth atmospheric conditions; hence Colossus cannot rust. In his armored form, Colossus is invulnerable to most forms of bodily harm, and is even capable of withstanding ballistic penetration, including a 110mm Howitzer shell. He can also survive extreme temperatures: -390 F and 9000 F. He could survive a collision with a loaded, one-ton flatbed truck at 100 miles per hour or an explosion of 450 pounds of TNT. While in his armored form, Colossus is granted great immunity to the fatigue toxins generated by his muscles during physical activity. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several days. Colossus, while armored, has no need of food, water, or air.
Learned Abilities: Colossus is a skilled artist, known as the Picasso of the X-Men. He is also an excellent combatant, as he has been trained by both Wolverine and Cyclops, both of whom are formidable opponents.
Equipment: None.
Weaknesses (Must Have): If rendered unconscious while in his armored form, Colossus immediately reverts back to his fleshy self, which could mean a great deal of trouble for him.
Background: Piotr Rasputin was born near Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. His family lived on a farm, and thus he grew up living the life of a farm boy. Piotr’s mutation manifested during his adolescence, and in the beginning he merely used his ability to help out around the arm or the people nearby. But, eventually he managed to draw the attention of one Charles Xavier, the founder of a School for Mutants. He was asked to help save the original team of X-Men, and Piotr readily agreed and accompanied Xavier to America. It was Xavier, it seems, that dubbed Piotr “Colossus” and the name has stuck through the years.
As Colossus, Piotr decided to remain in the United States to fight along side the X-Men. Piotr had a hard time adapting to the different American way of life but was an asset to his team. Eventually a young student, Kitty Pryde, came to the school and a relationship developed between the two.
During the Secret Wars storyline Colossus fell in love with an alien woman named Zsaji. She was a healer, and it seemed that healing a male patient made them fall in love with her. She died while resurrecting him.
When the Legacy Virus, a virus that killed mutants, attacked the human Moira MacTaggert, X-Man Hank McCoy finished her work and created a cure. The only way it could be activated, however, was through the death of a mutant. The cure would then be discharged throughout the world. Piotr's sister had succumbed to the virus so he took it upon himself to infect himself with the virus and the cure. Piotr injected himself with the virus and activated his powers, releasing the cure. The virus was gone and Piotr was dead. He was then cremated and Kitty Pryde scattered his ashes over his family's farm.
It turned out that Piotr did not die. He body was being held by an alien, named Ord. Ord explained that Colossus was only dead by 'human' standards, and he had discovered that it was a mutant from Earth that would end up destroying his world. His goal was to experiment on Colossus' body. He revived him and after discovering the Legacy Virus in his body had him cured. It was Kitty who found him later and freed Piotr. Colossus returned to the X-Men and to Kitty.
Colossus, along with the majority of the other X-Men, is struggling to rebuild the life that he once had before the horrible War struck. It seems that he has spent a great deal of his short life fighting, and yet the struggle doesn’t seem to end. He hopes to help rebuild the world into its former glory, with or without the support of the people that he once wanted to accept him.
Personality : Piotr is known as the Picasso of the X-Men, one of the sweetest and kindest men that the team has ever known. In fact, he would much rather sketch his teammates than he would prefer to fight. Piotr is known for being shy, particularly toward the opposite sex. It is not often that the quiet and reserved giant loses his temper, but when he does the world is in for a rude awakening. He’s known for being very protective of those closest to him, his friends and his loved ones. While on the battlefield, it is not uncommon to hear him jesting about his opponents’ weaknesses when he finds himself holding the longer straw. After all, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Brief Sample Roleplay
“In Russia, minority beats you!” The giant of a man could not help but chuckle as he merely lifted the armed man with one giant hand before throwing him some twenty feet away from the fiasco. It seemed that no matter where Colossus went in order to escape from the tragedy that awaited at what was left at the Mansion, he did not fit in anywhere. The public image of the X-Men was forever tainted, and fighting random armed men was beginning to become a bit of a nuisance.
He shook his head as bullets struck his armored skin, merely bouncing off as though they had no effect. He was relieved to know that they indeed did not have any effect, as he was completely invulnerable to their harm. Still, the alleyway that he faced the six standing men in suffered a great loss, and he found a bit of anger swelling in his hardened veins. After all, he had been part of the crew that had helped to rebuild the buildings.
“Nyet. That is enough, comrades!” He stomped forward and swept the group of them to the side as if they were some sort of a nuisance. Colossus swapped them aside as though they were nothing. “Do you need a break, or did I just give you one?” He chuckled heartily as he turned on his heel and walked out of the alley unarmored, the package that he’d bought for his Katya tucked safely under one arm.
