However, these skills are often clouded with Lex’s uncontrollable hatred of the man of steel.

Background: Born to the abusive Luthors, Lex grew up in Hob’s Bay, Metropolis, best known as Suicide Slum. His life was filled with abuse, and though he aced school easily, Lex’s life was miserable, without a friend in the world.
Then, his parents died in a car accident, one that Lex arranged himself. A large sum of money was left in an insurance policy. Since Lex wasn’t old enough to live on his own, however, he was sent to live with a foster family, the Griggs’, they were cruel people, who only cared about Lex’s money. They had a home full of foster children, each with some form of money behind them, but Lex was the big score.
One of these other children was Lena. She was the same age as Lex, and Lex was immediately attracted to her. Lena was Lex’s first love, or would have been. The Griggs’ tried to force Lena to get the information of his insurance money out of Lex, when she refused, she was pushed down the stairs and died.
Casey Griggs went to jail. Lex eventually managed to get his money, hired an actor to play his father, and went to Smallville. Lex went there because of meteorites around the place. He was interested in alien life forms, and met Clark Kent. Clark was Lex’s only friend in a town that hated him.
At one point, when Pete Ross’ father was ill, and needed important surgery, Lex made certain he would be on top of the list, because he said hello. Pete was indebted to Lex. Lex managed to seclude himself after that, and eventually, after two weeks of no school, he showed Clark his experiment, which was using Kryptonite to view Krypton’s past. Clark got ill, and Lex mistook the expression on his face, throwing Clark out of his home, Lex’s experiment blew up, killing his “father” and burning of Lex’s hair.
Lex fled into the night, and wasn’t seen again in Smallville. Years later, he was the biggest businessman in Metropolis, everyone loved him because he gave to the city. And then Superman showed up.
Over the years, Lex battled the man of steel, using others to fight him, going through a cloned body, and after Lex seemed to have tried everything, he did something that Superman couldn’t stop. Lex Luthor ran for presidency, and won the election.
As President of the United States, Lex caused even more trouble for Superman. Something he enjoyed more than anything. However, before Lex’s term was up, he went mad due to a large kryptonite meteor coming to Earth. Lex was convinced it was drawn to Superman. Mixing the drug venom with kryptonite and wearing an Apokoliptian battle-suit, Lex fought the man of steel in front of Metropolis. He lost, his business assets were sold, and his building ruined.
Lex went underground, an imposter started an Infinite Crisis, and during a year of no Superman, Lex empowered the people, only to be stopped before Superman’s return. Soon he was forced out of his rebuilt business empire, and penniless. He started a complicated plot against Metropolis, involving Kryptonian technology. Only to be stopped. Going underground, Lex has big plans, having kidnapped Bizarro, and turning him into a much more terrifying creature, and taking a special interest in Superman’s activities.
Personality :Lex is a rather cruel man. He’s fabricated a public personality in the past, that showed a kind, well-intentioned billionaire, but that’s just a show. Truthfully Lex is a greedy man, whose only true love is power, something he constantly fails to achieve.
As a boy, Lex was abused, and grew up in horrible conditions, his parents were horrible people who didn’t care how smart he was, just that he wasn’t like them. When they died, Lex was stuck with even worse people. His only love died in front of him, leaving Lex with his dismal look on life. His only friend in childhood was Clark Kent, which ended horribly. This all shaped Lex into being a ruthless businessman, one who was always used to getting his way. When people stopped looking up to him, and instead to Superman, Lex’s life was shattered.
In the beginning, Lex thought it would be best to buy Superman, which didn’t work, starting Lex’s life-long hatred of the man of steel. His obsession is with ridding the world of Superman, although in his mind, it’s all for the greater good. Lex believes that Superman will bring the end of the world, by making everyone a fat, lazy idiot with expectations of someone else fixing their problems. This is Lex’s inspiration for continuing on. Lex is also a scientist, and sees things in that way. He must know how something works, or it is useless to him.

Brief Sample Roleplay
The world of Lex Luthor had drastically changed. Before the war, Lex had been imprisoned. He was going towards execution. With only a number of weeks left of his life span. However it didn't even casue Luthor to sweat. He constantly had reminded himself there was a chance Superman would be killed. That kept him going for a long time.
There came a time when he thought he was actually going to die. Then she came during visiting hours. Amanda Waller had suggested him to become one of the Suicide Squad. She had rambled on about how he would finally help society in its time of need. America needed heroes, and they got what the government could get. The villains. Perhaps the greatest pain it caused Luthor's ego was thaqt he was not chosen to lead the Squad. In fact, he was given the code-name Alexei. He despised that most of all. The world didn't even know it was he who served them in their time of need.
Luthor was outspoken about the war. Constantly he challenged his new superiors about their beliefs and berated them for supporting a war that involved them turning to him for help. Him the despised once-great Lex Luthor. Although Lex kept his new costume, he had been made to wear a mask. A classic cowl to go along with his costume to keep it a secret that Lex Luthor was a government lackey. He detested that the others were not given the same conditions as he, but he did understand it. Even without his armor, Luthor was a technician with too much ambition to keep him in line. Even with a bomb placed inside him, Luthor was a handful.
Now, however, it was Lex's last day of sentence. The heroes were back, they had been back for a long time. The mask and code-name were still Luthor's protocol. He was to act like captured criminal Alexei Bozhenov, a Russian spy working under H.I.V.E. It was for public protection. Not even the rest of the Squad knew it was Lex Luthor who hid under the mask. The costume was not one he wore amongst them often. None of his teammates had ever seen it before.
However, Lex hd learned some humility. He had connected with his fellow criminals. They were all up on similar charges, save the volunteers to the program. Lex was one of them as Alexei Bozhenov. He only needed a slight Russian accent and he was fine. Alexei was Lex's human side. The side of him who was compassionate, outspoken, the hero of the people. Lex Luthor hadn't been that man since Superman arrived. He liked it.
And this was his final day. He could unmask, and serve a term of three weeks community service and leave it at that. However he felt something. He didn't want to leave. Alexei Bozhenov, his new alias was set up with a new life. A high-rise apartment in the best area of Metropolis. A high-paying job. Community service instead of execution. He couldn't leave. Alexei was nothing without the Suicide Squad.
With that thought Lex found himself in the cowl he had grown to detest. The name he once hated however, the man he was. It was just beginning. He sat in front of his superiors. "On any other day, I would say yes. I'll take that plea bargain. Today I have learned that the only community service I should undergo is right here. Let me serve out the remainder of my sentence as a member of the Suicide Squad. I don't mind being Alexei Boxhenov, Russian spy. I don't mind putting my life on the line. I'm home here. It would be better if I led these men. However, I must decline to your decisions. You have given me a new life. I still hate the alien. I hate his allies, but Lex Luthor could never be close to his compatriots here. I need to remain as I am at least for the remaining three weeks of my sentence. Give me that to hang my hat on at least. I need to see if Lex Luthor is the same man who has been working with this Squad for the duration of the war."
