Height and weight:
Actual: 5'11" - 175lbs
In armour: 6'4 - 425lbs
Appearance: Abner Jenkins is a man of roughly average height and build, with no particular distinguishing marks or features. However, maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regime has given him a strong, lean physique.
A professional hero, he spends much of his time in the suit of armour he created several years ago, meaning that his face is very rarely visible. Despite this, his identity is public and the public sometimes recognizes the middle-aged mechanical genius.
His dark brown hair is kept short and tidy in an almost military fashion, and he keeps his face clean-shaved. He is a relatively unassuming individual, looking as normal as the next man and dressing in smart, casual and comfortable clothing when out of armour.
His armour is mostly dark in colour, with white, black, grey and silver regions.

Super Powers: None
Learned Abilities:
A mechanical and electrical genius, perhaps even on a par with Tony Stark, there are few mysteries of science kept secret from the mind of Abner Jenkins.
Whilst he has a great - if grudging - respect for Tony Stark and the Iron Man armour, Jenkins' own inventions rival that of Stark Industries.
Tired of working a dead end job in an aerospace engineering firm, Jenkins struck out on his own to make his fortune. After years of using his inventions for crime and having served his time in prison, Jenkins now uses his work and his creations for good.
Equipment:
M.A.C.H. (Mobile Armoured Cyber-Harness) V Armour –
Developed during Abe’s recruitment into the Untouchables, the MACH V armoured flight-suit is a formidable weapons system, rivalling the ‘Iron Man’ armours of Stark Industries.
Power system:
The MACH V suit is powered by a miniaturized fusion reactor, fuelled by a stock of hydrogen-deuterium fuel cells stored within the suit. Should containment be lost and the reactor explode, the resulting damage could be similar to a tactical nuclear blast.
Flight:
Designed for maximum flight speed and agility, the MACH V exceeds Iron Man’s ‘Extremis’ armour in maximum speed and manoeuvrability, allowing for maximum agility at speeds exceeding Mach 8.
Observation:
Fitted with a series of high definition, multi spectrum/multi purpose cameras. The MACH V provides an up to date, accurate 360-degree field of vision, in concert with on board radar it allows for detection of most modern day stealth technologies.
Communication and information:
The MACH V possesses a variety of wireless communication technologies and has access to a vast database on military technologies, tactics, chemical analysis, known super heroes and villains and more, providing the user with any and all information relevant to the current situation, aiding in combat, rescue and survival.
Life support:
The MACH V armour is a sealed and self-contained unit capable of supporting the wearer underwater and withstanding great pressures, maintaining integrity in a vacuum and providing recycled oxygen and vitamins to support the user for up to three days.
Defensive systems:
The MACH V armour is composed of a tiered, polarized carbon fibre structure built around a secondary adamantium skeleton. This allows for maximum protection and durability at minimum cost to weight and agility.
The armour incorporates an internal shock absorbent gel layer, protecting the user from impact and sealing/healing injuries as soon as they occur.
Weapons Systems:
Whilst the MACH V lacks the pure offensive power and full versatility of Iron Man’s ‘Extremis’ armour, it is a formidable weapons system in its own right.
Machine Guns:
Two retractable twin-linked gauss-inductor miniguns are mounted on the back of the suit. These weapons fire solid, caseless 7.62mm x 51mm titanium ammunition, allowing for maximum ammunition capacity (9,000 rds) and fire rates (6000 rpm).
It is also capable of firing solid-slug rubber ‘Mercy’ ammunition, designed to allow the MACH V to deploy non-lethal weapons during confrontations.
Missile launcher:
The right shoulder incorporates a multi-lock rapid launch missile system capable of firing a variety of warheads at airborne or ground targets. It is capable of delivering high yield explosive warheads, phosphorous, anti-personnel, flash-bang, gas charges, smoke screen, IR flare, armour piercing and EM charges.
Blasters:
Unlike the Iron Man armour, the MACH V uses repulsorlift systems entirely for flight stability and manoeuvrability, increasing agility and speed at the cost of compact and effective weapons systems.
Mounted within the gauntlet on each arm is a C.R.E.W. (Coherent Radiation Emission Weapon). More commonly known as a laser or blaster weapon, the CREW is capable of being adjusted to emit varying frequencies and energy levels, allowing for multi purpose use, from cutting tools to incredibly destructive weapons.
Photon pulse:
The MACH V armour is capable of emitting a high intensity photon pulse, which is able to blind and stun foes and onlookers, as well as overload most electronic surveillance and detection systems.
RADAR Stealth:
The MACH V is constructed to provide natural RADAR stealth, with minimal cross section and EM absorbent paint, it shows up as nothing more than an electronic echo, or even a bird.
Weaknesses (Must Have):
Abe is, aside from his inscrutable genius, no more than a normal, mortal man. He may be somewhat more healthy and stronger than the average man, but is no more durable or resistant to injury or disease when outside of his armour.
Background:
Originally a Super Villain known as the Beetle, Abe used his first armour for crime and selfish reasons. As the Beetle, Jenkins was often foiled by superheroes. Spider-Man in particular was a constant problem even after Jenkins and the Tinkerer made several armor upgrades and came up with schemes.
He also was targeted by Iron Man during the Armor Wars due to Justin Hammer providing stolen Stark technology. He had somewhat better success in groups. While part of Hammer's 'hit squad' Jenkins murdered a scientist.
When Baron Zemo formed the Thunderbolts, Jenkins made a new armor, the Mobile Armored Cyber-Harness, and took on the name of MACH-1. Zemo's plan was to gain the favor or the citizens of New York, in need of heroes after the disappearance of the Avengers and Fantastic Four after Onslaught's attack, only to gain access to classified S.H.I.E.L.D. files and eventually control the world. Jenkins and several of his teammates began to like the hero life, and decided to leave their villainous pasts behind. Zemo instead revealed that the Thunderbolts were actually ex-Masters of Evil members to the public, leaving the new heroes with a public unwilling to trust them.
The murder he committed eventually came back to haunt Abe. When Hawkeye took over leadership of the team, he convinced Jenkins to serve out his prison sentence as a gesture of good will to the public. While in prison, someone used the Beetle armor to frame Jenkins, so he broke out. Abe was given a new face and appearance by Fixer along with the alias of Matthew Davis.
Eventually Jenkins returned his features to normal and returned to prison to finish his sentence. Spending time as a hero seemed to change his outlook on life.
After being released from prison, Jenkins reformed the Thunderbolts with the funding of Baron Strucker.
An expanded history of the Thunderbolts
The decay of global stability, the declaration of war that brought America into WWIII and the formation of the Untouchables led Abe to upgrade his armour once more. He dropped the MACH IV suit and rebuilt the design from the ground up.
Now with no criminal ties, new innovations and modern technologies, as well a tense relationship with Stark Industries, and most importantly his own technological genius, Abe’s MACH V suit was a marvel to rival Iron Man’s own armour.
As a reformed criminal Abe felt he had the most to lose during the war, and kept a cleaner service record than many if not all of the other frontline fighters in the Untouchables. He was still forced to involve himself in situations that led to the deaths of enemy soldiers and innocents, but was never held directly responsible.
Whilst he feels this was not enough, and suffers daily with a cocktail of guilt and rage, S.H.I.E.L.D. still watches him closely, even as he saves lives today, and the Government has never supplied that clean slate he was offered, even though he served his time with honesty and dignity.
Abe made right his wrongs, but still harbours a deep resentment for those he feels have not accepted responsibility for their actions, or kept their promises.
Personality :
Abe is a difficult man to decipher, if not an impossibility. He has never been entirely consistent in his life, most notably having taken to hero work during the deception of the Thunderbolts.
Abe is easily frustrated and angered. In the past this led him to violence as his temper got the better of him, yet now he does little more that vocalize his feelings if he can help it. He can still make the wrong decision in the heat of the moment, but is far more reliable than he used to be.
Still harbouring feelings of betrayal and disillusionment after betrayal by both the CSA and S.H.I.E.L.D. (As a member of the Thunderbolts), Abe tends to find it difficult to trust others.
Other:
With things to tense between the general populace and the Untouchables, and with the brewing infighting between the super-powered factions, Abe’s troubled past and uncertain loyalties make him something of a wild card.

Brief Sample Roleplay
That same dream. . . that old memory. . .
The distant horizon was baked dun orange by the setting sun. Peppered with scattered grey cloud and crossed with deep lines of purple, it gave an eerie beauty to the blasted landscape below.
From this altitude it almost all seemed too far removed to be real. As the ground rushed past beneath him, Abe could just about make out the huge craters left by days of artillery fire. A few isolated columns of black smoke twisted in the wind, as they rose into the sky, like giant obsidian monuments to the dead.
Activating the suit’s visual magnification he could clearly see the wrecked vehicles and scorched corpses that littered the desert like battlefield. It was a scene of complete destruction and unrestrained carnage, and had only a few days ago, been the site of a large clash between some of the Untouchables heavy hitters and a significant and well-armed enemy force.
Abe was supposed to be flying a reconnaissance sweep of the area, and had been told he was looking for any wounded or surviving combatants, or any sign of lost heroes. He had an unsettling suspicion that he was being kept away from the front and out of earshot – somewhere he couldn’t do any damage. Somewhere they could forget about the turncoat who nobody trusted. The ‘reformed’ villain who trusted no one.
Abe’s wandering mind was snapped quickly back to the moment as his suit’s HUD lit up, flashing warning messages showing he’d been targeted by a surface to air weapon. Within seconds the suit’s automated systems had acquired the enemy target, provided a close-up real image of the enemy combatant and suggested several different methods of engaging the enemy.
Abe, stunned by what he saw, didn’t manage to react until the weapon was fired.
A thin trail of crisp, white smoke arced into the sky, twisting as it turned and acquired its intended target. The MACH V was constructed to provide RADAR stealth, but did little against heat-seeking weapons.
As the missile neared him, Abe turned and stopped dead, hanging still in the air as it approached. . .
5 seconds to impact. . .
Could he really be seeing what he had thought. . .
4 seconds to impact. . .
Surely not. . .
3 seconds to impact. . .
They were heroes right? They wouldn’t. . . couldn’t do that.
2 seconds to impact. . .
Surely not. . .
1 second to impact. . . Flares deployed.
Suddenly, Abe’s suit fired three white, hot flares off to the left and he broke to the right, away from the three burning points of light as they fell to earth.
The missile turned, but not quickly enough. It shot through the space between its original target and the three new contacts. Impossibly quickly, Abe struck out and tore the drive unit from the missile, before casting it aside and watching as it fell away from him.
Turning his attention back to the source of the missile, Abe activated his gatling guns and loaded them with rubber Mercy rounds. Within seconds a hail of high-velocity solid rubber slugs had landed on and around the target, throwing up miniature clouds of dust around the injured man.
Abe was still shocked by what his suit’s visual magnification was showing him. The middle-eastern soldier had somehow managed to operate a stinger missile launcher, with only one arm and a leg missing below the knee.
What the hell was going on?
