Appearance: Static looks like any other normal kid when he's not in his superhero costume. He is African-American and has his hair in dreadlocks. In his Superhero costume, Static wears a white mask, has yellow-lensed goggles, and a white shirt with his logo on it. He also has black pants, boots, and a silver-colored utility belt. He can sometimes also be seen in a modified version of this costume where his shirt is black, a gold-colored utility belt, and he has blue shades instead of yellow goggles.

Super Powers: Static's power generally is around electromagnetism. He charges his power sometimes by "stealing" energy from electrical devices. Also, when his body's not ready to absorb electricity he gets a shock, but is only temporarily stunned at most by it. He is very resistant against mind control and general telepathy because the brain's an electromagnetic organ and since his generates a lot more electromagnetic energy then a normal brain it often "shocks" people trying to mind control him or read his mind badly.
Electromagnetic Generation, and Control
He can generate his own electricity, charging or draining different electrical devices. He can also sense where sources of electromagnetic power. He can also tap into the police and normal radio to listen, as well as phone lines to make calls. He can also put electromagnetic or static electricity into objects, sometimes even enough to make them fly. Metal is the easiest to do this with and wood is the hardest. Another use for this power is that Virgil has the ability to generate Electromagnetic shields to block against attacks.
Electromagnetic blasts
Virgil can shoot off electromagnetic blasts from his fingers to do simple things like turning off a light, to blasting someone back (/knocking them out). He can also light up his hand with his ability and make light to see in dark places. Virgil can also make signs in the air with electromagnetic energy. These signs can contain pictures and/or words. He often uses this ability to point police towards criminals with a sign that sometimes says "Bad Guys Over Here" or something a long those lines. He can control metal by picking it up with his electromagnetic power and throwing it at his enemies.
Electromagnetic Technopathy
Using his Electromagnetic ability, Virgil can remotely control electronic devices, such as toy robots and computers.

Flying Disk
This Flying Disk is a disk that is used by Static for traveling. It can fold up small enough to fit in Static's coat. It was made by himself right before a fight with a supervillain. Before the Flying Disk he used lids to garbage can and other things.
Weaknesses (Must Have): Static's main achillies heel is water. His powers immediately short-circuit if he comes in contact with a continuous large amount of water, although flying in the rain doesn't phase him that much. He still runs a risk of short-circuiting if he flies in the rain though. Static is affected deeply by the sun's and the earth's electromagnetic field. He can randomly lose control of his powers or get very, very weak (only able to make sparks) if either of those electromagnetic fields strengthen or wane. His powers are almost useless if he's not around metal, and also his attacks apparently don't really have an effect against rubber.
Background: Virgil Hawkins was born just a normal kid, although slightly geeky due to his love of comic books. His family consists of his father who runs a community center, and his sister Sharon. Virgil's mother was a social worker who tried to help people and eventually was caught in in a Crossfire between gangs and killed.
He grew up normally as well, not much happening in his personal life. There was one problem though by the time that he was older, he was being bullied by a gangster. He was saved by another gang leader named Wade who offered him protection if he would join his gang. Virgil reluctantly agreed, but unfortunately that night was going to be anything but safe for the young teen. There was a big gangfight and pretty soon the police came to calm things down.
The police arrived and threw tear gas into the crowd, but this was a special kind of tear gas. The tear gas had been spiked with an unknown, experimental chemical that made those exposed into people with Superpowers. The people who had spiked the tear gas went to capture some of the people who were there they went after Virgil. This was when he discovered his powers. Virgil now wears a costume and fights against crime as Static.
Personality : If one word had to be used to describe Virgil it would be "Geek". He is the kind of person to buy action figures and leave them in the box, and loves comic books as well as movies. Virgil is especially good at science, although he's also good at subjects such as History and Public Speaking. Virgil has a good sense of humor, although he can also be a bit sharptongued and smartie when talking to other people. He is outgoing, although very shy when it comes to girls that he likes. Virgil tends to get stressed sometimes because of his schoolwork and the life of Static being too much on him. In the costume, Static is more confident, and a lot more of a loudmouth.

Brief Sample Roleplay Static was doing the usual flying around, looking for people to help. He was particularly giddy today because of the A he had gotten on his science test. Static's good mood was interuptted though when he spotted a couple of gansters about to beat up an old man. "Hey! Why don't you fight against someone who can actually fight back!" Static said, remaining on his flying disk as he got between the old man and the gangsters.
Static heard one them yell the order to kill Static, so he went into action, shooting electromagnetic blasts at the perps. It wasn't enough to kill them, just knock them unconscious. "Is that the best you can do? A two-year-old could do better!" Static said, taunting the gangsters. However, instead of getting even more angered they ran away, swearing.
"You should probably avoid this part of town, those gangsters are persistent," Static said to the old man before flying off. It felt good to help people, and gave a long sigh when he realized that somewhere else, another crime was probably happening. Static went into an alleyway near to his house and found a place suitable for a changing room. He put on ordinary clothes and put the suit back in his backpack before exiting and going home, hopefully to some praise, and finally to bed.
