Appearance: Whenever he's not in costume David looks like any other person, normal clothes, normal haircut- everything. His hair is Red, he has unusually pale skin a long with brown eyes. There's only one thing that separates himself from the other people and that is his feather-shaped white scar near the outside of his left eyes. When he's in costume he wears a mask with a scarred skull imprint on it. His costume is a suit originally devised by Nightwing with gray gloves, gray boots, and a utility belt that gives him a number of nifty functions.

Learned Abilities:
Master Martial Artist - David has learned a mixture of different styles on the streets and has curtailed it to his strengths and weaknesses.
Master of Stealth - Over the years and under the tutilage of some very gifted thieves David has become a master of stealth.
Master Acrobat - He was always talented when it came to agility, but under the harsh strains of being a thief he has become a master acrobat.
Technology Skilled - Red X is gifted when it comes to figuring out technology. This mainly applies to technology that is designed to keep him out of things, like security alarms.

Weaknesses (Must Have):
Red X's suit uses up a lot of energy so a special ore is needed to power it. It is called Xenothium and it is very powerful as well as super unstable. He can be killed like any other person and does not possess any superhuman characteristics that make it harder to kill him.
Background: David Smithson has only known one thing ever, himself. Raised by himself with the interjection of a few people, he taught himself that if he didn't take care of himself no one would. David became a common thief, stealing jewelry in order to pay for meals and other basic needs. He was caught one day by a thief who called himself the Thief Lord and brought into a society of thieves like himself.
In actuality, the "Thief Lord" was just a super villain who was interested in experimenting on the Thieves. David found this out and a long with a friend, they both donned costumes to defeat their leader. David became the Red Shadow, and his friend, Luke, became the Crown Thief. During their time out on the street and even within the gang, they had both become masters of fighting and general stealthiness.
A hard fought battle later, Thief Lord was dead, and Luke became the new Thief Lord as well as the new leader of the group. David left the group, although he wasn't allowed to give up his membership, and fought against crime. Thievery from the Thief Gang was an exception in his book, and as such Red Shadow was constantly being paired with villains for that.
Superhero life bringing in no income, plus the hate that he got made David switch back to thievery. He stole from people, but also helped them- living a life of a guy in the neutral part society. David stuck mainly to thievery though, sticking with his idea of "helping out number one". He also had a long chain of girlfriends and people who had crushes on him because of his flirtatious nature and physique.
To how David came to see the suit, he saw a battle in which Nightwing used the costume, for what reason he didn't know, but it didn't matter because David fell in love with it. He followed the Teen Titans back to their base and observed it for a few days before deciding to attack. He got lucky enough to get to the Red X suit before any alarms activated and therefore stole it.
David staged a death of the Red Shadow, and hid the old costume away in a beat down trunk that held his normal clothes. He donned the Red X suit and started to call himself Red X, stealing things just like Red Shadow did, but without helping people as much as before. David is a bit more selfish with the suit although he does share a bit of non-selfishness every once and awhile, especially around the Thief Lord and the Thief Gang. He has gotten into several fights with Nightwing as well as the other Teen Titans because of his thievery, more specifically his stealing of Xenothium.
Personality : David is not a villain in the sense that he wants to go out and destroy the city or anything like that. His top priority is to look out for number one, aka himself, so he steals for the money. David is not very serious, especially during a fight. He even forgets about thievery at an opportunity to mess with his opponents. David has a cold sense of humor born from his life on the streets and has been known to crack jokes. He is flirtatious, sometimes even flirting with a female enemy. David has been avid is easily irritated by the "hero act" and shown to get annoyed when superheros take their job too seriously, in his opinion.

Brief Sample Roleplay
Red X smirked, the people who were in charge of this Xenothium holding place were not learning a lesson. He decided to take a bold move and walked right in front of the first two guards. "Hello, Goodnight," Red X said with a smirk, shooting two restraint devices that bound the two guards next to the wall. The impact knocked the two men unconscious, and Red X passed with ease through the first door.
"Now, what's the next move they have against me?" he wondered aloud as he passed through the door. What Red X saw beyond that door was at the most, disappointing beyond anything that the seasoned thief had seen. "Lasers? Are you guys guarding Barbie dolls or something?" he mocked in a annoyance before taking a running leap over the first laser. Red X was, for the rest of the time in that room,jumping and ducking over and under the lasers, careful to make sure not one part of his costume hit the lasers.
The room after that contained the standard motion detecting turrets. Red X was starting to doubt that this was the actual facility because of the easiness of the security. "Whoever made this security system is obviously wearing rose-colored glasses," Red X thought to himself.
He soon landed in front of the door that lead to the Xenothium vault and opened it with gracefulness. Red X was met with the sight of more guards, these in special suits designed in case of a Xenothium spill. "I'll just be taking that Xenothium now," Red X said to the guards, disabling them with the same thing that he had used on the guards out in front.
He took the Xenothium that he needed and turned back to exit, saying over his shoulder, "You guys ought to at least upgrade your security, it was super easy." With that, Red X made a stealthy getaway, leaving the place to be found in the morning with the guards tied up and an entire case of Xenothium stolen.
