Super Powers: Bishop is a Alpha-level mutant with the possibly of becoming an Omega. Bishop has the ability to absorb almost any type of energy, ambient or directed, psionic attacks, telekinetic attacks, etc. Storing this energy, Bishop has a wide variety of options on how to use this power. He can send it back as the same form of energy, including Storm's weather effects, or as a concussive blast that he directs from his hands. His concussive blasts have the same output as a small star, according to the mechanical villain, The Fury.
He can also choose to store the energy in what he calls his 'personal reserves', where he can enhance his strength to pick up fallen trees, increase his healing abilities, and offer himself a small amount of invulnerability. He is immune to many diseases and nano-bots, being from the future.
Learned Abilities: Bishop is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, and has the ability to know where is his anywhere in the world. It is not known if this is a secondary mutation, or just something he knows.
Equipment: Sunglasses that give him information and allow him contact with other X-Men, as well as guns that fire lasers and plasma charges. He can recharge these with his own energy.
Weaknesses (Must Have): He is not immune to telepathic attacks. Some energy is harder to absorb than others, and he can wear himself out by absorbing too much energy. Also, Bishop has not yet learned to absorb kinetic energy, like Sebastian Shaw. Whether or not he can remains to be seen.
Background: Much is not known about the mutant Bishop. What is known is that he is a mutant sent back from the future, supposedly on a quest to stop some apocalyptic event. In the future, mutants were stamped by an M on some body part, and he wears that symbol with pride.
Since coming to the past, he has made a name for himself as a police officer, and as an X-Man. He spear-headed the creation of an X-police force known as the XSE. He has shown himself to be a capable team mate, and has more than once saved the lives of the X-Men with his knowledge of events in the present.
Personality : Bishop is very hard-working, down-to-Earth guy who puts his mission above all others. He does have a sense of humor, though it is buried pretty deep. He is a natural leader, but hasn't had many opportunities to show his skills. He holds Charles Xaviers goals very high, and believes that mutants and humans can someday coexist peacefully. That said, his one of the few X-Men who is not averted to killing, if necessary.

Brief Sample Roleplay
Bishop sat at the table, watching as Cyclops went on about the mission parameters. As Bishop looked around, he saw that many of the younger X-Men, Jubilee, and Katherine Pryde, seemed to be more interested in their nails than the mission briefing. Shaking his head, he turned.
"What can expect in terms of human resistance? I mean, we're going in to pull a captured mutant out of a civilian stockade. One can only guess that they won't be happy to see us." Bishop said, knowing that at the very least, they could expect guns, knives, and at most, an army.
