Super Powers: ---
Learned Abilities:
- Athlete: Catman is in peak-human shape. He maintains a strict regimen of exercise that keeps his body in the utmost condition. He is performs gymnastics, martial arts, weightlifting, and aerobics, keeping himself constantly primed and ready for battle, should the need arise.
- Body Language: Blake is able to understand and communicate with lower-life forms using Body Language. Communication with his Lions was made predominantly, through Body language rather than verbal communication.
- Tactician: Having lived with Lions, Blake’s tactics might not be the greatest or the trickiest in the world, but he can plan and create scenarios with the best of them. His plans normally involve basic, but tried and tested methods, flanking, and misdirection. However, his plans are normally more sophisticated than basic Lion hunting.
- Up Close: Whilst not directly trained in Martial arts, Catman is a good all around fighter, mixing fragments of Martial arts with his own natural agility and the ferocity and control that he learned from
- Stalking: Blake is capable of moving stealthily, moving on all fours, and minimising the amount of noise his body makes. By taking in other environmental factors, he is able to effectively and quickly move against an enemy or a target without alerting their suspicion.
- Hunting: Living with a pride of Lions, Blake had an opportunity to hone his hunting abilities. Observing behaviour as well as the environmental variables, he is able to quietly, and effectively,
- Agility: Whilst not superhuman, Blake’s agility is greater than that of your average man. He has exhibited the ability to leap onto and cling to the ceiling, demonstrating cat-like agility. Other instances he has displayed above average agility, such as back flipping over Deadshot.
- Perfect Specimen: Blake is allegedly the perfect specimen of a man, according to the assassin known as Cheshire. Whilst he has displayed peak human strength, and agility, he is a man who has completely rebuilt himself, displaying not only mental stability more than physical perfection.
- Natural World: Whilst not a super power, Blake’s connection to the natural world is particularly strong. He is able to take in the scents, and feelings of the world around him, looking for prey, as well as shelter, water and what’s around him.
- Instinct: Blake’s instincts are tuned to the highest setting, making him more intuitive than a normal human being. Whilst this ability is developed, it is by no means super human, he is simply able to operate on instinct and trust his gut feelings completely.
- Constitution: Whilst not necessarily a power or ability that would lend itself to a normal situation, living in the wild meant that Blake is able to digest raw meat, as well as track and kill animals with his bare hands, though this has yet to be tested on a human being.
Equipment: Blake holds two knuckle mounted claws, each claw holding three long, razor sharp claws. These are normally used as Melee weapons, for cutting and slicing through flesh, or other materials, such as chicken wire, or through doors. They’re made from Titanium tipped steel. Blake also wields two hunting knives; about six inches long, capable of cutting through both dense flesh and bone matter.
Weaknesses (Must Have): Thomas is completely vulnerable to weapons, mental attacks, weather storms, etc. He is also prone to give into his desires and his urge for violence on occasion.
Background: Thomas Blake was a world-famous trapper of jungle cats, who turned to crime because he had grown bored with hunting and had squandered most of his fortune. Wielding an ancient cat suit made from African cloth, said to give the wearer the nine lives of a cat, he turned to crime. Blake had modelled his look on Catwoman, and the villainess was displeased with him copying her look. She teamed up with Batman on multiple occasions to catch him, leading to a love/hate relationship between the two villains.
Thomas Blake began his criminal career mostly as just a themed villain. His gimmicks, mostly laughable, were all variations on the Cat theme, rendering him a frequent resident of Blackgate Penitentiary. Stealing items such as Cat statutes or emerald cats eyes, he also operated a number of cat themed vehicles, such as a large robotic cat, or themed weapons, such as a Cat-O-Nine tails whip.
After a number of humiliating defeats and times spent in prison, he retired for a short time, eventually resurfacing, this time working alongside Catwoman to fight against Batman. The team-up didn’t last long, as Catwomans attitude towards women eventually drove a wedge between the two of them.
After a short period away, Catman resurfaced as a member of a super-villain team known as the Misfits, led by Killer Moth. As a prototype to the Injustice Society that he would later reject, Blake wanted to prove, along with the other villains; they could achieve results together, rather than working singularly, however, as a recurring theme for Blake, the group was defeated by Batman and Robin.
Blake later contacted Catwoman in a fit of desperation, revealing to her that the cloth that comprised his costume belonged to the South Sea Cat Cult, and they wanted it back. It transpired that Catwoman had been hired by the cult to get the cloth back, but eventually gave them a fake.
When Oliver Queen eventually came back from the dead, Catman was rediscovered by the Green Arrow as a minor foe, involved in a conspiracy around Oliver’s death.
Blake had become over weight, down trodden and depressed villain, over looked by the others and defeated by Green Arrow without expending any real effort. His confidence had become so low, he’d dyed his hair black simply to try and look tougher.
Hailing back to his previous relationship with Catwoman, Blake was still hitting his girlfriend, and wore his old costume underneath his normal clothes, hitting an ultimate low. During this time, he was abducted by Warp, and threatened with death at the hands of Monsieur Mallah, commenting that he knew he had hit rock bottom when a monkey and a Frenchman didn’t consider him worth killing.
Catman resurfaced during the events of Infinite Crisis, as the Injustice Society began to build itself, it was revealed that Blake had moved to Africa to find and rebuild himself after a failed suicide attempt. Regaining his sense of self worth, and losing a lot of weight, he trained himself to be an even better warrior than he had been previously. Blake was one of the few to refuse its membership. Citing that he wouldn’t debase himself as a villain again, he made it clear to Talia Al Ghul and Dr Psycho that he’d set his lions on them were they to return, thus his perfect existence was shattered. As retribution for refusing membership Deathstroke killed his pride, though it was later revealed that Deadshot had killed his Lions to get Blake to join the Secret Six. Blake vowed revenge on the Society, and subsequently went on to join the secret six.
The team waged war against the Society, sent into battle by the mysterious presence known as Mockingbird (Later revealed to be Alexander Luthor). When Blake found out that Lawton killed his Pride, he was livid, but eventually forgave him, and the two allies eventually became almost friends or as friendly as two villains could be.
Blake also pursued and consummated a romance with the villainess Cheshire, though she would later betray him, and the rest of the group to the society.
It was also revealed that she had tricked Blake into conceiving a baby with her, since Blake was what she considered to be a perfect specimen.
During the Battle of Metropolis, the Six took the opportunity to break away from Mockingbird and go it alone, acting as Mercenaries, taking Scarecrow and Fortune with them. However, the latter two villains were dropped when they chose to betray the group and attack them.
The Six were then later involved the assassination of a prominent Asian general. Their job as mercenaries brought them into conflict with Vandal Savage, who was trying to control Scandal, to get her to bare a grandchild for him. Later, the group were individually attacked by Villains; Catman alone was not attacked, under the orders of Vandal Savage, and Cheshire. Catman recruited the Mad Hatter into the group, who was their secret weapon against Dr Psycho, though he did find the small man disturbing. The group eventually defeated Vandal Savage, with Blake learning that he had fathered a son through Cheshire, and let her leave in order to get the antidote to Save the Mad Hatter.
The Secret Six ran into the Birds of Prey, and it created an attraction between Blake and the Huntress - out of costume. The two teams battled, six on six, and Catman paired against Huntress, who hinted that she might've been interested in a relationship if he drew the line between villain and hero a little bit more carefully. The Secret Six broke up at the end of this adventure.
Catman was next seen on the Hell Planet with the rest of the villains deported with fellow Secret Six members Deadshot, Rag Doll and Scandal.
Personality : Previously a man of little emotional or moral integrity, prone to emotional mood swings, as well as depression and domestic abuse, Thomas Blake had been a man of low prospects and he knew it. Turning from taking his abusive nature out on his girlfriends, he directed it at animals becoming one of the world’s greatest trackers, second only to Congorilla, but this only filled his desire for violence and to let his anger out for a short period of time, turning to crime shortly after. After multiple defeats Blake’s own emotional instability became his downfall, dropping him into depression, and ultimately, into situations beyond his control.
Escaping Death, Blake’s entire out-look changed. He moved to Africa to live amongst what he considered to be the perfect and noblest of Animals. Blake rebuilt himself, based on the Lion’s behaviour and the perfect human expression of it. He valued honour above all else now, facing opponents and giving them the chance to defend themselves, or flee.
He developed a fierce loyalty for his family, and his friends, and those he feels affection for. Protective to a fault, almost he is known for his laid back approach to things, taking the time to think things through rather than rushing in directly to confrontation. He prefers to take his time, and think this through. His emotions are often kept in check, but true control over them isn’t always possible.
A dry, witty sense of humour prevails through most of his down time, but seriousness rules his consciousness when the team are working. He switches equally between the two states of mind as he goes through life.

Brief Sample Roleplay Thomas Blake stood atop a tall rooftop in downtown Gotham City. He was dressed in his Catman costume and was holding binoculars up to his eyes. The Catman was stalking his prey. To his teammates, this was not something out of the ordinary. In fact, he seemed to be stalking every night but to civilians, they were in awe by the orange-clad hero on the rooftop.
"Catman to Waller, repeat Catman to Waller. Do you copy?"
"I copy you Catman, what do you have to report?"
"Target has been sighted. Permission to move in."
"Permission granted. Take him out, Blake."
"Copy. Over and out."
Catman pulled the binoculars down from his eyes and stuffed them into a large bag. Catman tossed the back over the edge of the roof, in the direction of the fire escape, and then ran over towards it. He climbed down the fire escape and then stuffed the back behind two dumpsters. Catman pulled out his infamous claws and slid them onto his knuckles.
He ran towards the street and stopped, checking for an signs of life. There was no one to be seen in either direction so he dashed across the street and approached a family-owned business building. There was a sign in the window that read: "Closed". Catman smirked sliced the doorknob off the door. He lurked into the dark building and walked towards a desk at the end of the main room.
"Mrs. Waller wants you dead, Mr. Tuvio. Could it have something to do with the funds you promised the government but never sent out? Perhaps you should think about that while you die, slowly and painfuly."
Behind the desk, a dark shadow shook in pure fear. Catman drove one of his claws through the man's bicep and thrust his other claw into the man's heel. A loud shout of agony echoed through the empty store. Catman pulled his claws out and crossed his arms over his chest. Through the darkness, Thomas could see the pure fear in the man's dying eyes. Catman smirked once more and walked back out of the store.
