Super Powers: Vixen possess the natural ability to mimic the skills and traits of animals by tapping into the morphogenetic field of the earth.
Learned Abilities: She was taught various forms of martial arts from Batman, Wildcat, and Black Canary. Mari is also a professional model and therefore has the coordinence and balance of a model.
Equipment:
- Tantu Totem: Vixen wields an object called the Tantu Totem, a fox-shaped talisman, which enables her to tap into the "morphogenetic field" of the Earth, sometimes known as the Red. This allows her to mimic the abilities of any animal she can think of, by simply focusing on a specific animal abilities and then drawing it directly from the field. She has demonstrated the ability to hold onto the Morphogenetic traits of an entire forest of animals. The Totem isn't the source of her powers but rather helps her channel the power.
Weaknesses (Must Have):
- Animal Behavior: One apparent drawback of Vixen's powers is that she is not always able to control the inputs from the Morphogenetic field. Sometimes, she has absorbed unwanted animal behavior, such as instinctive rage. Meaning the longer she stays in contact with the Morphogenetic field, the less human and more animal she seems to become.
- Human Nature: Mari's body is that of a human's and therefore can be harmed bu weapons and other physical attacks. Her mind is also vulnerable to attacks and she is vulnerable to diseases and sickness.
Background: Mari was born in a small African village nation of M'Changa where stories of the African god Anansi are told. As a young girl she learns of the legend of the totem amulet that can give it's wearer the skills and abilities of wild animals. They call it the legend of the "Tantu Totem". Which Mari's father, David Jiwe, had been in possession of until he was killed. Her mother had been killed by poachers previously to that. She later moves to America having changed her name to Mari McCabe. She get's a job as a fashion model which allows her to become slightly wealthy and travels the world.
Mari returns to Africa for a short time only to run into her uncle who was revealed to be her father's killer. Taking back the "Tantu Totem" from her uncle who had taken it from her father she becomes the super hero known as Vixen. Though at first reluctant she became Africa's first female crime-fighter until returning to America to pick-up her modeling career. She had been involved with the suicide squad. Vixen aided them in the help of investigating the murders of her friends. Single handedly she tracked down a criminal by the name of Cujo, an arms dealer and drug smuggler. She applied for membership for JLA and was accepted. Her new life consists of balancing a career in crime fighting, fashion and relationships.
Personality : Mari is an exotic girl with an exotic nature. She can be understanding of somethings and hot-headed and temperamental with others. She has a strong sence of justice and is compassionate towards those she cares about. She can be a very sly woman; using her physical beauty and persuasive-aggressive behavior to get the job if need be.
Mari is a very go-with-the-flow kind of person. She tends to do things according to her emotions. If she is feeling angry or upset, she would most likely be rude to allies. If she was feeling happy or excited, she would most likely take down the job as quick as possible. Mari is also known to be sarcastic and humorous most of the time.

Brief Sample Roleplay

Vixen pushed the front door of the Hall of Justice open and walked into the large headquarters. Her high-heeled boots clacked against the tiled floor as she walked down the long hallway. She had a slight grin on her face while she continued to walk through the hallway. She passed the Main Control Room, the Transporter Bay, the Cafeteria, the Gym, and then she finally reached the member's apartments. Vixen approached her dorm and slid her identification card through the slot. The door's handle blinked green and she pushed it open. She walked into her room and sighed.
"This is going to be a long day; I can tell. I saw three different bank robberies that were getting taken care of just on my way here!"
Mari McCabe walked into her walk-in closet and removed her clothing. She pulled her clean Vixen costume down from the top of the closet and walked back into her room. Mari slid the orange costume on and zipped the front up a bit. She put the belt on, slid her earrings on, and pulled her gloves and boots on. With a confident smile, Vixen pushed the door back open and walked into the hallway once more. She looked down the hallway behind her, hoping to spot another League member, but didn't and decied to just walk towards the Meeting Room. The League had a lunch/discussion meeting today at and Mari had decided to show early.
Vixen, with a sigh, pressed forward and down the hallway. She passed the Gym, Cafeteria, Transporter Bay, and Main Control Room once more before reaching the Meeting Room. She paused in front of the door and remembered the meeting when she told the League of her copying powers. Black Canary was very happy, which upset Vixen. Vixen shook her head and pushed the door open. She wasn't surprised to see the Trinity there and talking. They quickly stopped when she entered and Wonder Woman and Superman stood up to greet her. Batman merely stared.
"Looks like I'm early. What's for lunch? I'm starving."
