Equipment: KITT is an artificial intelligence microprocessor installed in a highly advanced, very mobile, robot disguised as a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with the following functions
Computer AI - KITT is essentially an advanced supercomputer on wheels. The "brain" of KITT is the Knight 2000 microprocessor, which is the centre of a "self-aware" cybernetic logic module that allowed KITT to think, learn, communicate and interact with humans. He always had an ego that is easy to bruise and displayed a very sensitive personality. The system is programmed to drive the car better than a human operator can. He also has an in-dash entertainment system that can play music and video, and run various computer programs including arcade games which Michael sometimes indulged in whenever KITT is driving. The possibility that KITT is truly sentient is unconfirmed, however Michael does refer to KITT as being "alive"
Molecular Bonded Shell - KITT is armoured with "Tri-Helical Plasteel 1000 MBS" (Molecular Bonded Shell) plating which protects him from almost all forms of conventional firearms and explosive devices. He can only be harmed by heavy artillery and rockets, and even then, the blast usually left most of his shell intact and only damaged internal components. The shell protected every part of the car including the tires. KITT can even act as a shield for explosives by driving over bombs and suppressing the blast. The shell also protected him from fire and electricity; however, it is vulnerable to some potent acids and at least one formula is made to completely neutralize the shell. It is also shown that long exposure to seawater can weaken the shell. The shell is actually a combination of three secret substances referred together as the "Knight Compound", developed by Wilton Knight who entrusted parts of the formula to three separate people. These individuals each only know two pieces of the formula, ensuring that any two of them can make more of the Knight Compound in an emergency situation and that no one person would be able to make it.
Power System - The Knight Industries turbojet with modified afterburners powers KITT and a computer controlled 8-speed turbo drive transmission. Specifications 0–60 mph in 2 seconds, standing to quarter mile 4.286 seconds. Electromagnetic hyper-vacuum disc brakes: 14 foot braking distance (70–0 mph).
Turbo Boost - Used in most episodes, a series of rear mounted undercarriage rocket motors allows KITT to accelerate to incredible speeds in excess of 200 mph. When activated in combination with the Trajectory Guidance System and a pair of rocket motors mounted just behind the front tires that lifted the front of the car, KITT can jump 40 feet into the air and pass over obstacles in the road. The system also allowed KITT added power whenever he had to maneuver heavy objects such as pushing a heavy boulder off a cliff, or pulling a large vehicle out of danger. The boosters can fire forward or backward.
Computer Override - KITT has a hidden switch and setting dial under the dash that either completely shuts down his AI module or deactivates certain systems should the need arise.
Manual Override - KITT has a function which can be activated in order to completely lock the AI from all the vehicle controls. Unlike the Computer Override, Manual Override simply keeps KITT from activating Auto Cruise or preventing anyone inside the car from doing something that would probably hurt them. KITT's AI is still able to protest such actions vocally.
Fuel Processor - a turbine engine primarily fueled by hydrogen gas powers KITT. However, his complex fuel processor allows him to run on any combustible liquid, even regular gasoline. KITT's actual fuel requirements and efficiency ratings were classified, however KITT has mentioned that his fuel economy is at least 65 miles per gallon. However, when operating on fuels other than liquid hydrogen, KITT's fuel efficiency and power output may be lowered.
Rotating License Plate - KITT can rotate his KNIGHT license plate to reveal a fictitious one reading "KNI 667".
Voice Synthesizer - KITT's Voice Synthesizer allowed his logic module to speak and communicate. With it, KITT can also simulate other sounds, such as a police raid to fool criminals or a wild animal's growl, useful for scaring away any too-friendly animals intending to urinate on his tires. KITT's primary spoken language is English, however by accessing his language module, he can speak fluently in Spanish and French. The module can be adjusted giving KITT different accents
Comlink - KITT is in constant contact with Michael via a two-way communication wristwatch (a modified '80s LCD AM radio watch) Michael wore. The watch also had a micro camera and scanner that KITT can access to gather information.
Weaknesses (Must Have):Michael is human and can be killed and or harmed in any fashion that a human can be. KITT can only be directly harmed by heavy artillery and rockets, and even then, the blast usually left most of his shell intact and only damaged internal components. it is however vulnerable to some potent acids and at least one formula is known to completely neutralize the shell.
Background:
Born Michael Arthur Long, he is actually the son of blue-collar people.
At the age of 20, Long joined the Army, was part of the Green Berets, and spent three years in counter-intelligence work in Vietnam. Captured once when snooping around, he fought his way out of a POW camp, incurring an injury which required brain surgery, and a metal plate that was inserted into his skull.
After those years in the military as an intelligence officer, Michael was discharged from the service, and arrived back in Los Angeles. Later that same year he joined the Los Angeles Police Department, starting as a patrolman, where he met his partner Muntzy. Michael was subsequently promoted to Detective Sergeant, and finally to Detective Lieutenant with the 11th precinct of the L.A.P.D.
After 10 years on the force, while on special assignment from the LAPD as an undercover as Security Guard for Consolidated Chemical Corporation in Las Vegas, Nevada for six months, his long-time partner, Muntzy while working undercover as a mantenance man, was killed by Security Guard Gray.
police officer Michael Arthur Long was betrayed by a female informant, and nearly killed by a gunshot wound to the head by an industrial espionage expert named Tanya Walker. A metal plate in Long's skull, the result of a head injury sustained during the years earlier, deflected the round, which still inflicted serious facial damage.
That same night Long was declared dead to the public and his medical care was taken over by the Foundation for Law And Government (FLAG).
FLAG is a private crime-fighting arm of Knight Industries, an organization founded by Wilton Knight, a billionaire philanthropist. Michael was not Wilton Knight's first choice for the pilot program, but Wilton changed his mind and reopened the foundation due to Michael’s arrival. Wilton Knight is dying of an undisclosed illness. Wilton picked up Michael passed out in front of his car, on a desert highway, Michael barely survived, thanks to the metal plate.
Given a new face via facial reconstructive surgery, Long is resurrected as Michael Knight. Together with a high-tech automobile called the Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), Michael Knight agrees to carry on Wilton Knight's crusade of aiding the powerless. The new director of FLAG, Wilton Knight’s long-time friend and confidant, Devon Miles, usually gave him mission objectives. Michael was selected for his high level of self-defence training, intelligence, law enforcement experience, and his ability and preference to work alone without assistance or back up.
Personality :
Michael Knight was a special type of hero, a modern knight who avoided violence whenever possible and generally refrained from using firearms.
Michael is always ladies man, often loves women, and will always come to the defence of any damsel in distress. Often despite his own peril.
Michael is any thing but naive how ever and while at times he does seem to be overly trusting and believing of almost any sob story. He quite often has doubts which he never voices.

Brief Sample Roleplay
Michael sat on KITT’s bonnet in one hand was a hotdog with the works bacon onion cheese and mustard while with the other he flicked on threw a newspaper. His eyes flicking over an article that was in there about an arrest he had assisted in. “Well KITT another criminal brought to justice.” He said as KITT voiced his agreement in a tone that left lots to be desired.
“oh come on now kit your not still mad at me for calling you a hunk of junk now are you?” he said as he smiled down at the highly modified 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. “you know I was playing up for the benefit of the crims they would not have let me in like they did if I had not let them think of you as just another car”
“It still hurt” the voice said as a red bar on the dash and in the grill suddenly flashed while it spoke. “But you truly did not mean it did you?”
Michael’s reply was unfortunately interrupted by an emergency announcement over police frequencies that KITT continually monitored “we have a Bank robbery in process suspects are escaping currently heading south on highway fifty-nine,” the operator said as it called for all units to respond.
“Well looks like a job for us” Michael said as he threw the remainder of his hotdog in to a trash can along with the paper and slid in to the front seat. Kit having already started up the engine and moving them on towards the area described in the police transmission even before Michael had his seat belt done up.
