The Character
-------------------------------------------------------------
Cannon or your own:Canon
Copyright (Marvel/DC/ect):Marvel
Characters civilian name:Erik Magnus Lensherr
Code names/Aliases:Magneto, Erik the Red, Master of Magnetism
Class [Superhero, Vigilante, Mercenary..ect]:Supervillain
-------------------------------------------------------------
Gender: Male
Age:68
Apparent Age:Mid fifties
Hair: Silver
Eyes: Gray
Height and weight: 6'2" and 190 lbs.
Appearance:When one first takes in the appearance of the infamous Master of Magnetism, they might think that he is merely an old man on a rampage. But, to the contrary, Erik Lensherr is still in rather good physical condition despite his age. While his hair may look as though he’s aged rather horribly, the rest of his body (face, torso, arms, legs, etc) give him the appearance of a man decades younger than his chronological age.
Erik is known for his rather strange uniform, one that is a dark magenta with purple, black and silver attributes, as well as a cape. But, perhaps what strikes people as most odd is his helmet, which can often cause a comical reaction to his foes until he demonstrates his less than friendly abilities. When not in uniform/costume, Magneto has a rather tasteful selection of clothes that are suited for men of wealth or prestige. When not wearing slacks and a button down shirt, one might often catch him in an elegant suit and tie.
Erik carries himself with pride and grace, as he feels that he is better than the mere Homo Sapiens that walk the earth. As such, he can often be seen looking rather smug and elated about the most common of things. For example, when a taxi refuses to pick him up, he merely causes it to flip over a number of times. This in and of itself causes him to be more smug than usual.

Super Powers:
Magnetokinesis[/b]: Arguably the most powerful being on the planet, Magneto is a mutant with the superhuman power to shape and manipulate magnetic fields that exist naturally or artificially. Magneto's power is, for all practical purposes, limitless. Magneto can maintain total control of an entire planet's electromagnetic field and manipulate it accordingly. Magneto has harnessed magnetism to stop armies, raise islands from ocean floors, move mountains, change the course of rivers, and threaten to devastate the world with apocalyptic floods and earthquakes.
Magnetic Force-Fields: Magneto usually protects himself with a personal force field that he can quickly expand to protect large areas. His force field has withstood the effects of multiple nuclear weapons, volcanic eruptions, the depths of space and attacks from multiple Avengers or X-Men, including Phoenix, Thor, and even Galactus.
Magnetic Flight: Magneto is also capable of sustaining flight for very long distances and at varying speeds. He apparently has several means by which he achieves flight, one of which is by gliding along the planet's natural magnetic lines of force, another by simply creating a repulsive force between himself and the planet, propelling himself. By using his magnetic powers, Magneto can virtually travel at trans-light speeds; however, in order to travel in space, Magneto also requires his force field to breathe.
Increased Strength: Through his magnetic powers, he can increase his strength to vast levels, making him capable of lifting far in excess of 100 tons.
Electromagnetic Sight: By concentrating, Magneto can perceive the world around himself as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings.
Metallic Bonding: Magneto has recently presented the power to atomically bond metallic substances to any designated surface material. This newly developed technique allows Magneto to blend metallic alloys with the earth, water, and air.
Organic Iron Manipulation: Magneto can control the traces of iron within organic matter, which allows him to have full control over an opponent's body. He can manipulate the iron-enriched blood-flow to one's brain to induce aneurysms or unconsciousness, alter thoughts and perceptions, or blank a person's mind completely. He can even remove ferrous compounds from the bloodstream entirely through a person's skin.
Geomagnetic Link: Magnus is tied very closely to Earth's EM Field. As is it effected, so is he. He knows instinctively all that happens to it, and with this link, is granted an odd sort of immortality. Earth lends him strength by it's simple existence. He draws on it all unconsciously.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation[/i]: Although Magneto's primary power is magnetism, he has some ability to project or manipulate any form of energy that is related to the electromagnetic spectrum. He can fire and absorb bolts of electricity and magnetic force, reverse lasers and other forms of radiation or energy, create enough intense heat as infrared radiation to level a city, and become invisible by deflecting visible light around his body. Infrared radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which also includes visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet light, gamma rays and x-rays -- Magneto can project any of these.
Telepathic Resistance[/i]: Magneto has trained himself extensively for fighting telepaths, and is resistant to telepathic attack.
Learned Abilities:
Genius-level Intellect[/i]: A mastermind, Magneto is a genius within various scientific fields. He is an expert on genetic engineering and mutation, with knowledge far beyond that of contemporary science. He can mutate humans in order to give them superhuman powers, instill genetic mind-control, create adult clones of human beings, and then manipulate the genetic structures of these clones during their development. He has designed magnetically-powered aircraft and spacecraft, complex robots and computers, and magnetically-powered generators and created artificial living beings.
Military Training: Magneto is a skilled strategist and has more than a rudimentary knowledge of hand-to-hand combat.
Equipment:
While Magneto possesses a number of genius devices, including space stations, means of travel, etc, his most common piece of equipment remains his helmet. Of his own design, is built to shield his mind from psychic probes and manipulation. His costume/uniform is designed with the use of a number of different metallic objects that allow him to use it for flight.
Weaknesses (Must Have):
Magneto's ability to wield his superhuman powers effectively is dependent upon his physical condition. When severely injured, his body is unable to withstand the strain of manipulating great amounts of energy. When his powers are not at their peak, he also appears to have greater difficulty controlling forces other than magnetism.
Background:
Magneto’s hatred for mankind in general spanned from the years he spent in a Nazi death camp in Auschwitz, Poland after witnessing the death of his family. Virtually alone, young Erik suffered through human indiginities and injustices that many could never imagine. Yet, it was in this camp, along with his young love, a gypsy woman by the name of Magda. After escaping the camp, they lived together in a small home, wherein he finally consciously used his powers (which he had suspected earlier on) against his boss. When he returned to his wife, he found the place afire. Yet, their young daughter, Anya, could not be saved. As Erik attempted to use his powers to rescue her, he was attacked by the KGB. He was forced to watch his daughter fall to her burning death, which caused something inside of him to snap. He willingly turned his powers against those that attacked him, bringing the entire city upon him. Horrified, Magda fled, never to return.
Only, she did not tell Erik that she was pregnant.
It took him some time to come to terms with his actions, and after moving across the globe for quite some time, he settled into a position as a volunteer orderly in a psychiatric hospital for Holocaust victims. It was there that he first came across Charles Xavier, and the two became quick friends. While Erik was tainted from his youth and his run ins with the Homo Sapiens already, Charles did his best to convince his friend that coexistence was possible. And for awhile, Erik believed it as well.
Working as a double agent (reporting Nazis and handing them over to the authorities), Erik thought that he was cleansing his soul. Yet, when he was discovered as a double agent by the agencies involved (likely the CIA and an agency in Israel) he was turned on and his girlfriend at the time was murdered in front of his eyes. The man that Erik had strived to be for the sake of his friends and humanity was no longer. From that moment forward, he vowed to end the human race.
He disappeared for a number of years before reemerging and beginning his stride toward human domination. He formed the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, which included Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (whom he would later learn were his children) and began his rampage. His bloodlust seemed never-ending however, even if his conscience did occasionally get in his way.
While campaigning against the human race, he has often come up against Charles Xavier’s X-Men, and been thwarted. But the amount of damage that he has caused has led Magneto to become one of the most feared mutant terrorists in the entire world.
During WWIII, Magneto was nowhere to be found. In fact, he was aboard one of his most recently built space stations, watching the chaos from the sky overhead. While he’d privately hoped that the humans would destroy each other, he could not bring himself to sway the war one way or another. Thus, he opted to remove himself physically from the war, as, in all honesty, the side that had Magneto would have been victorious within hours. Yet, the loss of his daughter in the war brought about a most mysterious change in the Master of Magnetism. He is looking at the world in a more curious way than ever before, and his enemies are left wondering if he is still a villain or if he’s merely on a quest to avenge something that he could have put a stop to.
Now that the war is over, Magneto plans to make a reappearance and continue on his goal of mutant superiority. The war may be over according to the media, but he knows that the hatred still rages on in hearts of mutants and humans alike worldwide.
Personality :
Erik is known for his rather smug personality at times. He is a man with a mission and will stop for very little in order to get things done. He is a very proud man and always carries himself with an air of authority that few would be pressed to match. While it often seems that he looks down at people, that is not the case. He looks at his fellow mutants (and even meta humans) as somewhat of equals, and as his brothers and sisters.
He is often a very observant and quiet man. Yet, Magneto is known as being able to talk people out of the most hazardous of situations with his words alone, either exalting fear or pride in the person in question. His ability to win over large crowds is well known, and he often gains a great deal of respect with his authorative ways.
Some may consider his to be cold or malicious, but the truth of the matter is that Erik is merely vindictive. Some have deemed him a sociopath, but the obvious truth is that he is steadfast in his belief that mutants are superior to the common human. He is a genius, he is a terrorist, he is simply Magneto.
Other: Magneto has never taken over as Headmaster of Xavier’s.

Brief Sample Roleplay
The news was filled with the tragic Memorial Ceremony wherein they were laying his friends, his family, to rest. While he had been tempted to attend the ceremony, if only to say farewell to the man that he had respected for the better half of his life, Erik Lensherr had refrained.
One might find the man’s presence in a small and rather private park somewhat alarming, but this day he was not dressed as the infamous Magneto. No, this day he was garbed in his finest slacks and a white shirt under a fine black overcoat. A black beret rested atop his silver hair, and he gave most onlookers the feeling that he was merely a man lost in thought.
Which he most certainly was.
Gray eyes trained on the large national newspaper that was spread across his lap, Erik merely stared at the headlines and pictures until they were permanently etched in his mind. Today they would be giving his daughter a proper sendoff, and he was not entirely welcome at the ceremony. After all, while Wanda had served her country proudly and lost, the terrorist known as Magneto would surely not be welcomed. Which is why he had said his goodbyes to his daughter in private from the space station where he had spent a number of long months practically alone.
“I am sorry, daughter,” he murmured, quite to himself, as he brushed his black leather gloved fingers over the picture in the paper. It had been so long since he had seen her face to face, though he could recall the day quite vividly. His fiery daughter had pleaded with him to join the Untouchables, to do something great with his powers. Foolishly, he had declined and insisted on remaining neutral.
He would never forget the sight of the tears streaming down her perfect face.
Erik Lensherr was as good as alone in the world, as he had virtually no friends or family left to call his own. Dearest Pietro had not been seen since before the war, and secretly Erik feared that his son had been lost in the war as well. The Brotherhood had been disbanded nearly two years ago, and for now, he had only himself to rely on.
“The world will finally realize the truth,” he murmured clearly as he folded the paper up delicately before standing. With the newspaper tucked under his left arm, he strolled toward the park’s exit, a firm scowl on his face. “My dearest Wanda, I will see your justice through. That, I can promise you.”
