Ororo had been doing a little shopping. She had stop at a nice café for tea. She had her hair hidden under a head wrap. She was dressed in pair of blue jeans and light blue t-shirt. She had been enjoying her tea in peace.
Ororo had been hoping to get away from the mansion for awhile. Like usual there were many things happening at the mansion on top of one another. Ororo took another sip of her tea looking across the small outdoor café.

Raven was out of costume. No cape, no loetard, no long flowy gown. She wore low rise jeans and a dark blue hoodie, hood down. For once in her life, she realished being a compleatly normal teenager. Sometimes she forgot she was only 17, the whole reincarnation thing had messed up her sense of age.
As she walked down the sidewalk, she thought through the past couple of days, trying to understand why she had gotten herself dragged into so many issues. Consorting with a known and dangerous crime lord, almost getting herself in jail. Her face tightened as she remembered these past mistakes, and she almost didn't here the wolf whistle from the other sidewalk.
She spun to see a group of young highschool men, obviously drunk, watching her. Raven suddenly felt very self concious of the tattoo that barely showed above her jeans and the way her pants clung to her legs. Forcing down her feelings, though, she gave the boys no more than a deadly glare before turning and walking back on her way. Ignoring the laughter from behind her, she quickly made her way to a small sidewalk cafe.
Ordering a steaming cup of tea, she quickly sat down. There was a hustle and bustle of everyday life all around her, but one person caught her eye, Raven saw an obviously young woman but with very white hair sitting near Rae, drinking tea as well. The Azarathian teenager didn't mean to stare, but there was something not quite the same about the woman.

Ororo pushed took off her head wrap after some had fallen out. She felt someone staring and meet the teen’s eyes and nodded. She put the head wrap aside and drank some of her tea. She closed her eyes a minute and tilted her head as a breeze blew past, almost as she was listening to it.
She heard a commotion and immediately stood up trying to find the source. She looked around but could not spot a source.

The woman met Raven's eyes and nodded, Raven returned the gesture with the barest of motions. Though the day was hot and muggy a breeze wafted up and played around the woman's head, whipping the few loose strands of hair free.
Now that was defantily strange, but suddenly she stood up and looked in the direction that Raya had come from. The boys who had whistled to her eariler were making a commotion and Raven too stood suddenly, her tea spilling a bit over the side of the cup and onto the table.
Walking slowly to Storm's side, Raven asked because she was sure she already knew the answer,
"I take it this is your line of work, as well?"

Ororo looked at the teenager and blinked in surprise. She did not expect the teenager to even think that she was in that line of work. Before she could respond she felt a shift in the air and spun to see that the boys were not alone. Someone else was there.
Ororo could not see the other person because the person was in the shadows. “Be alert there are more here then we can see,” she warns Raven.

Raven turned quickly, standing almost back to back with Storm. Closing her eyes she sensed four teenaged boys hiding in the back shadows, all with hostile intents. Taking a deep breath, when Raven reopened her eyes she was compleatly calm.
"I see them. They aren't drunk like the other ones, either. Let's see if we can't draw them out into the open, I'm not a fan of all this sneaking behind people's backs."
Raven's eyes flashed pure white and she pushed her veil of influance towards the boys in hiding. Within a second of each other, each boy's eyes was filled with terror and they lept from their hiding places. Fear of cockroaches? Really? As soon as they were in the open Raven looked to Ororo.
"Would you do the honors?"

Ororo did not respond with words. Her eyes went white over as a wind picked up around them. She raised her arms and the wind headed straight towards the boys. Most were immediately swept off her feet. One was able to brace himself against the wind.
Ororo cut the wind and sent a lightening bolt in front of the one boy who still standing. “Go from this place!” she ordered them. Her voice was firm and strong and echoed a little in the alley.

A strong wind picked up, but Raven easily stood her ground, keeping watch for other boys who thought they might think of hurting other's for fun. The last of the boys was expelled from the area with a well aimed burst of lightening, and then, it was calm again.
The people at the cafe were giving the duo odd looks, but Raven ignored them. Sitting down at Ororo's table, she called her Tea over to her with a twitch of her finger. Looking at the weather witch, Raven nodded in greeting.
"Raven, from the Teen Titans, West Coast."

Ororo sat back down ignoring the looks and stares. Her eyes had returned to their blue color. “I am called Storm, from the X-men,” Storm told her. She picked her tea up and took a couple sips.
“If you are from the West Coast what are doing in NY?” Storm asked. She stirred her tea in thought. The weather had returned to normal and there was only a hint of the breeze in the air.

If you are from the West Coast, what are you doing here in NY?
Raven shrugged, taking a tiny sip from her steaming cup. "Been moving around a bit, can't get settled." Sure, that an the government had a hundered grand on her head, but, that wasn't really relevant now was it?
"I've heard of the X-Men." She commented, savoring a tiny breeze that whisped past her cheek. "The X gene, right? Next step in Human evolution?"

“That is what we have been called,” Ororo told her. "There are times we are fighting for our own survival. Others times we are just existing,” she told Raven before taking another sip of her tea.
“We have been hunted by the government for existing,” Ororo told her. She stared into her tea for a moment. “But, anyways it might be wise for us to get going,” she told Raven. She notices some officers coming their way and they did not look happy. Ororo knew that a lot of time mutants were blame for things that had nothing to do with mutants.

There are times we are fighting for our own survival. Other times we are just existing. Raven nodded in agreement to the darker woman's setiment. Raising her teacup in a sort of sardonic toast, she said,
"I'll drink to that." Then she drank as she listened again. "Human nature," She said half to herself, "is to fear what they don't understand. It was a great defense mechanism back when humans were barbarious neanderthals. Not so much now."
But then, not only at Storm's words, but at a sudden frosty feeling in the air that chilled her to her bones, Rachel turned ever so casually to see the two gruff looking police man striding towards their table. Sizing them up Raven decided that though she probably could take them, the last thing she wanted was to fight the law right now.
Hurridly standing up, she accidentally knocked her teacup sideways. The hot opaque liquid stained the tablecloth and Raven rubbed her burned fingertips. "I agree, let's leave fast."
Slapping down the bill, the Azarathian healer tried not to seem worried as she helped Storm collect her shopping bags.

Ororo only had a few bags so it did not take long to gather them up. Ororo nodded at Raven and walked away from the café. Ororo walked at a steady pace in hope to draw the least amount of attention to them as she walked away.
“I am guessing that you are also not a big fan of the police,” Ororo said to Raven as they walked.

I'm guessing that you are also not a big fan of the police. Ororo said to Raven as the two of them left the area with the woman's bags in hand. Raven nodded simply, saying,
"Of course, they aren't to keen on me either. But what else is new?"
It was well known by now that the Untouchables were on the most wanted list, hence why Raven wasn't in costume.

“It is the same with mutants. That is why mutants keep to the shadows, even before the war started. Mutants have yet to be accepted by the general populace. Some have used violence to force acceptance. The X-men have fought many years for acceptance in hopes that one day the general populace will accept mutants,” Storm told her.
Storm kept the pace neutral in effort to avoid drawing more attention to the two then usual. Storm twisted her hair up and used a large comb to hold up her hair as she placed her hair wrap back on., so her hair was once again hidden.
