Okay, everyone!!
I have a lot of things to address and I'll do so as quickly as possible (since many of you know I tend to get wordy).
In the absence of the admins, I have kind of taken control of the board. This is also the ONLY board I am currently involved with, so I should be able to check things daily and keep anything we are doing running. I may not post every single day, but we are so slow that I don't think this will matter.
I would like to address a few things. First: characters. I will be enforcing the rules Black Canary laid down for characters WITH THE EXCEPTION of the required time for posting - because we're so slow it must be permitted that members can post when they can, and not when they SHOULD. Here is a list of the rules I will be enforcing:
1] Please do not God-Mod. This means that the only characters you control will be your own. You must give others the ability to react to any actions your character takes. You cannot dodge every hit, but you should not take them all. Stick to your characters powers.
I would like to put a special request on this. If you have any number of godlike or demonlike - basically characters with powers that are godlike in nature, I would like to ask that you only play TWO characters with those powers. We need characters who can take hits and be hurt. Please be aware that because I am approving characters it would be well to note that I am asking you to do this. Dumb down the character's powers or stick to the 2-godlike rule, okay? Thx.
13] Profiles will be given two weeks to be completed before they are DELETED.
5] After your profile has been accepted you will have two weeks to post in a roleplay thread before you lose the character.
These are the only time rules I'm enforcing. I can't tell you how many newbies we've had since July who sign up and don't post a profile or don't start posting after they're approved. Please show you want to be here and didn't just sign up on a lark.
FOR THE TIME BEING I will let you do originals before canons, however I strongly urge you to do canons as well. We kind of need them, you know?
ALSO FOR THE TIME BEING I will permit members who are not DC/Marvel to play. HOWEVER if the admins return and point out that they don't want the non-DC/Marvel characters on the board, those of you playing said characters will have to change.
I think that's all on characters.
The second thing I will discuss is plot. I will not be changing anything about the plot, but for the time being I will try to come up with something for us to do since we're all kind of killin' time right now. Suggestions are welcome. I will make a thread in the Plot section of the board.
Third, accounts. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT - I probably should have put it as first. ;D Many of you saw in the CBox what I am doing and have PMed me accordingly. Your characters will be kept. HOWEVER IF I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A PM BY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, AT MIDNIGHT (that's Sunday-Monday midnight) YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED. It's Daylight Savings time, you actually get a whole extra hour to send me that PM.
To members who may be deleted: never fear, you can sign right back up! I will not delete anyone's character profile, but rather put it in a 'graveyard' of sorts, to be revived with a request and an incantation and all that creepy stuff that involves me clicking on buttons.
Fourth - old threads. ALL OLD THREADS will be put into the Archives under their respective topics. The cutoff time is anything before Saturday, October 25, (since that's likely when I'll be moving the threads).
SPECIAL NOTE: THIS WILL INCLUDE THE GRAPHIC AND INTRODUCTION THREADS. Members who are deleted after the cleanout WILL HAVE THEIR INTRODUCTION AND GRAPHIC THREADS DELETED. NOT MOVED, DELETED.
Old games, contests, relationship pages, requests, graphics, and introduction threads WILL BE DELETED.
Old RPs WILL BE MOVED BUT NOT DELETED.
I honestly think that is all I have to say for now. If I think of anything else I will post it as a reply to this thread so it will be bumped for all to see, and I will make an announcement in the CBox.
