In a secret place, amongst the ruins of an ancient church, in a quiet town, in a little known part of the country. . .
This place had once been a house of God - a place of worship for the feeble, fearful masses. This pathetic relic to a long forgotten, weakling God had been desecrated long ago. The sacred, hallowed land here had seen many dark ceremonies and rituals to purify the land and remove the taint of the silent God.
Here, in the tunnels and catacombs beneath the crumbling stone pews of the defiled church, Karl Ruprecht Kroenen was hard at work. The mechanical monster had studied the occult for a great number of decades, and had amassed a great deal of knowledge in the practicing and origins of the powers of black magic. This dark power had helped him to forge his new and perfect body, and today it was helping him to create weapons that would finally defeat Hellboy, his friends and allies.
Finally!
The hammer came down hard once more, throwing purple and blue sparks out of the heat of the forge.
They would all. . .
The hammer came down one final time, and an explosion of purple light issued forth from the burning blades, filling the room with blinding light. Even Kroenen had to lift his free hand to shield his eyes from the glare.
Die!
He had done it! He had re-forged the blades of his Katar gauntlets and infused them with a portion of the dark powers of the Ogdru Jahad. now they would be as eternal as he - unbreakable and impossibly sharp! His lord would finally return, now he could ensure it!
Thump
The sound of the heavy metal trap-door closing caused Kroenen to look up and glance around. Somebody was here - in the darkness of the catacombs. . .
Kroenen disappeared into the blackness. . . taking his new weapons with him, and leaving only a collection of unusual items on a wooden table, near a makeshift iron forge.

Dante landed on the ground "Trap doors couldn't Kroenen come up with something better then that?" He said to himself as he walked around the place trying to find Kroenen someone had called and offered him a lot of money to put this guy away for good. And Dante couldn't stay no and besides there hasn't been any customers lately he needed the money. "Guess I can't expect much from a dead lip less German guy." He said after a bit of thinking and looking around the place. "Why can't bad guys ever live some place nice?" he said as he began to wander around looking for Mr. Lip-less.

Rogue, for some strange reason was in the same small town as Dante and Kroenen. After hearing much strange things about the two by eavesdropping on the locals she figured she’s investigate it herself. For the descriptions she was given it was very odd and lord only knew what was going on. After she had heard a where their location was she decided to make a personal trip herself.
Once she had reached her destination she looked about her surroundings. She felt cocky tonight. She didn’t watch her step or anything she just walked like a normal human being pretending to not notice anything suspicious going on. She soon stepped upon the opening entrance to the catacombs. Peaking inside she smirked.
“Well, this don’ look suspicious at all.”
She entered the catacombs to find out what or who was inside.

Two of them. . . Seemingly unaware of each others presence. . . yes.
Kroenen moved through the shadows as if he were one of them. A dark, silent shape moved through the tunnels of the catacombs, silently, quickly. He was as good as invisible down here, and they would never find him. He could easily escape, leave before they knew what had happened, but no. He would need to find out why they were here, then killing them might not be a bad idea. Even if killing them didn't achieve much more than keeping this place a secret, it would certainly provide him with a dark satisfaction.
He found the first one. . . a creature that looked like a boy with white hair, but whom Kroenen sensed was much, much more. He felt the darkness about him - this was some kind of dark being, but no servant of the Ogdru Jahad. He could only be a servant of a rival power, and must therefore die.
Dante would hear nothing, as a tonfa sword came sailing out of the darkness, cutting through the shadows as it plunged towards Dante's neck.

Dante bent back words just missing getting his neck sliced opened. "That would have hurt for a while." He said as he moved back and drew his sword and swung it at Kroenen's head "What is it with you bad guys always living in places like this ever try the Holiday Inn? I mean come on try something new for once. Would it kill you to?" He asked looking at the thing with gas mask on he wasn't human Dante knew that just from the smell he was getting from "Man you smell horrible ever try using some cologne? it wouldn't hurt you know." He said swinging his sword at Kroenen just in case he missed the fist time.

Rogue could hear faint voices off in the distance. She quickened her pace following for the voices. She was dressed in her green battle uniform with white stripping. Rogue had learned that if you’re looking into something always be prepared, you never know what’ll happen. She lifted the hoodie part of her uniform over her head. After much walking and listening she finally reached the destination of the two fighting men. She leaned against the wall of the catacombs with her arms folded.
“Now why can’ ya’ll jus’ get along?”
She asked with a smirk on her face. She really couldn’t help but be a little sarcastic about the two. It was just laying there wide open for her to take it.

So the dark creature didn’t just look like a boy, he acted like one too. His attempts at sarcastic humour were little more than an embarrassment to the white haired fool. He seemed to think that Kroenen ‘smelt’. Karl wasn’t exactly sure what he meant. Being undead didn’t mean he was decaying – the powers of the Ogdru Jahad protected this body, as did the gas mask he wore. There was no rot, so the child must be confusing another power of his for a sense of smell – perhaps he could recognize those like Karl with it, though it was no advantage.
The blow from the oversized sword was slow and clumsy by Kroenen’s standards. It was almost embarrassing swordplay, and a foolish tactic – brute strength over speed and precision? Karl thought not.
He sidestepped and rolled away from the strike to his head, coming to his feet directly in front of the woman – the other intruder. He stepped back and turned quickly, blocking the second sword strike with a tonfa against his forearm, and the gauntlets below that.
Kroenen wondered where the demon had learned to fight – if he ever had – as he aimed a kick at his chest, hoping to drive him back and put him off balance. Kroened dodged backwards once more. Now standing between them, he span his tonfa swords and crouched low, assuming a pose that could easily – and quickly – become defensive or offensive, with a blade point aimed at each of them.
The first one to advance would die.
