The weather was horrible. Rogue run out of the store she had just finished shopping in. She lifted her arms over her head as her coat was draped around her arms covering her from the rain. The store she had just left was a clothing store. The contents in her bag were of course some street clothes and gloves. That was a down fall about being part of the X-Men. Sometimes you were attack while you were in your street clothes and with having to defend yourself clothes got ripped or ruined.
She continued to run through the rain as her feet hit against the small puddles that were starting to form on the sidewalk. The weather was ridiculous. If only she was able to fly off she’s have no problem getting back home. Of course doing something like that in public wasn’t the best of ideas to do.

“Forgot an umbrella?” a familiar voice asked. Ororo was there holding out an umbrella to Rogue. She had an umbrella open for herself. “You know the weather man was actually right today,” she pointed out to Rogue.
“You know you can also come to me for advice on the weather. You know how accurate I am with the weather,” she told Rogue with a smile. Ororo like Rogue was a mutant well Rogue’s mutation dealt with her skin Ororo’s mutation had to deal with the weather. Ororo could actually see the weather patterns and feel the weather. She also could control the weather when she so choose.

Rogue lowered her arms as Storm offered her an umbrella for protection against the rain. She offered her friend a smile as the walked along the street. She had know Storm for many years and was one of the few that accepted her and was willing to help her when she had decided to leave the brotherhood and join the X-Men.
“Well, ya know ya could jus’ make it stop rainin’.”
She told Storm as they continued down the street. She knew Storm was capable of it. Jean and Scott had decided to get married in January and Ororo had changed the weather from gloomy snow to nice sunny weather. Rogue had to admit she was getting a little grumpy over the rainfall. It was like this for the past couple days. The rain always made her a bit gloomy. After a few moment of quietness she glanced over at Storm.
“So wha’ brings you t’ this part o’ the town?” she asked Storm.

“The rain will stop this evening by itself. You know we need the rain it has been pretty dry the past few weeks,” Ororo told her. She actually enjoyed the rain and weather patterns she associated with it. Ororo knew that the not everyone enjoyed the rain as she did.
“The same as you new clothes,” Ororo told her. “I was hoping to replace my dress that got ruined a couple weeks ago, the battle with some of the Maruders,” she explained. The dress was made in African style and was hard to find a dress like the one she had lost.

Rogue nodded in agreement with the new clothes thing. Constantly battling ripping of new clothes, it wasn’t fun one bit. She ran her hand through her hair as she continued to walk with Storm. She had to admit, she was a little frustrated with Storm that she wouldn’t just use her powers to make the rain stop. However, Rogue wasn’t going to be the one to push Storm into it. If it was someone Rogue looked down to, she’d do it but not Storm. Rogue looked up to Storm in many ways and she was also a very good friend.
“So, which store we headin’ t’? Ah’m still not done shoppin’.”

“It’s a small store that is down an alley. I came across it be accident on day. There is a wide assortment of clothes you might find some you like,” Ororo told her leading the way. She turned down an alley that was not too small. Half way down she entered a store and the bells chimed.
The store was a decent size and held all sorts of dresses. Including more traditional southern dresses, Ororo went straight toward the African collection. She started looking through the dresses trying to find on her size.

Ororo was right the store was very small but it a very well verity of clothing. It had southern style all the way to Korean. Rogue looked around browsing about the clothing as Storm went straight to the section she was looking for. While she browsed the Korean section she pulled out a kimono quickly looking at it. Yeah, like she was going to just walk around town in a kimono. She set it back along with its brothers.
She made her way over to the southern style section. It was funny in a way you can take the girl out of the south but you can’t take the south out of the girl. Then she found it. It seemed like the perfect dress for her. She pulled it out looking more closely at it. It was red with black lacing for the arms. In Rogue point of view it was beautiful. She made her over to where Storm was.
“Hey Ororo. What do ya think? She asked.

Ororo looked up from the dresses she was looking at when Rogue came over. She smiled at Rogue’s choice. “I think it fits you, very much, you may want to try it on for size,” Ororo told her as she examined the dress.
Ororo pointed to where the fitting rooms where. She picked up a dress from the rack that she wanted to try herself. It was a full length dress that was a dark brown with some embroidery. It looked like a traditional African dress.

Rogue made her way towards the back of the store where the fitting rooms were. She tried on the southern dress she picked out. Standing in front of the mirror she swayed side to side looking at herself in all different angles. After a few minutes of doing this she finally decided that the dress was for her. She made her way back over to Storm once more.
“Ah buyin’ it.” She said to Storm with a smile on her face.

Ororo smiled to. “Quite the store is it not?” Ororo told her. “I have to try this on,” she told Rogue. She held up the dark brown African dress for Rogue to see. She held it against her body so Rogue could see what it looked like against her skin. It was close to Ororo’s skin color and made her hair stand out even more. The dressed reaches her ankles.

Rogue looked Ororo up and down examining the dress she had pressed up against her body. Rogue figured that their really was no need for Storm to try it on. It looked like it would fit her perfectly and looked very attractive in it.
“Damn Ororo! Ah don’ think ya need to try it on. It seems t’ me you’ll fit it an’ have all the men lookin’ your way!”

“That is not the effect I was looking for,” Ororo told her. She then started searching for another dress. She looked for a dress that would not draw so much attention to her when she wore it out in public.
“I want one that will not draw so much attention my way. One that I might actually get some peace in,” she told Rogue with a smile. They both knew that due to Ororo’s height and hair she drew attention constantly.

Rogue slightly frowned with Ororo’s disapproval of the dress. She thought it looked really good on woman. However she wasn’t going to lie to her friend either. That was how Rogue was. She looked at the variety of dresses along with Storm to find the kind of dress Ororo was looking for. Unfortunately Rogue wasn’t having much luck trying to find the right dress for Storm.
