Remy LeBeau stood in front of Xaviers with a smoldering cigarette jutting out from between his lips. His hands were buried deeply in the pockets of his long brown trench coat and his devil red eyes burned and shined in the darkness that engulfed the surrounding area. He closed his eyes for a second and shook his head.
"Gambit don't belong here" He whispered the words to himself and then peered up at the school again. He was considering leaving the Institute for good. Things were different now. The X-Men were scattered, the school was under constant scrutiny and Charles was dead.
Still, it was going to be a very hard choice to make and he wasn't sure what he expected.

(OOC: I did have a post for you I promise. =P But it went to the Vault. lol)
The war had left its toll on everyone. Friends, Family, and Lovers died in the war. It left a deep hole in the hearts of everyone. Someone loved ones returned and some never came back. The man Rogue had considered like a father lost his life in the war, Charles Xavier. When she was willing to reform and asked for the X-Men’s help, Charles was one of the few to give Rogue a chance. After time had passed Rogue soon gained everyone’s trust. Even with Charles gone, Rogue still considered the school a home. Where else was she to go anyways?
She let out a heavy sigh as walked through what seemed to be busy halls now seemingly empty. The hallways were so empty she could clearly hear the echoes of her footsteps against the hard wood floor. Life had done a complete 180 turn on her. Charles, Jean, and Wanda were dead, their bodies were found. Unfortunately, Remy never came back and that left a deep hole in her heart than Xavier’s and Jean’s death. As far as Rogue was aware Remy was dead, but a small hope was still inside her, they never found the dead remains of him. Or so she was told.
The on coming depression was beginning to suffocate her so much that she had to walk outside for some fresh air. Turning to knob the sound of the click coming from the door also seemed to echo through the house. A chilled shutter racked down Rogue when she heard this. Being outside helped, she felt slightly relieved as she inhaled the fresh air at least until she saw a figure standing in front of the school.
In an instantly Rogue felt her stomach drop, her mouth ran dry, her heart pounded and she could feel her face turning into a slight red as the warmth rise in her face. It couldn’t be him, that one person? She never thought this day would actually come. To see this person alive and kicking was almost impossible she thought. She tried speaking but couldn’t form the words. It couldn’t be! Was this all a dream? The man standing in front of her with the glowing red eyes?

Remy pulled the cigarette from his lips and tossed it down to the ground, quickly grinding it into the ground with the tip of his heavy boot. He simply couldn't decide. Would he stay or would he go? He owed this place everything, really. This place and it's people. But most of the people were gone now, and the school felt mostly like a shell now.
His glowing eyes peered up instantly when he heard the clicking of a door swinging open and the lights from inside streaming outwards and towards him. His eyes focused, and he raised his brows in surprise as he watched the figure become apparant. He could see the wavy brunette hair, paired with the shock of the brazen white lock. He watched the green robe flow over her shoulders and a deep sigh left his lips.
"Cheri...?", he said with a trademark smirk.

If things were normal Rogue would’ve smack that smirk right off Remy’s face. Things were serious and it had seemed to her that he was making a joke of it. She walked down the stairs of the front porch towards Gambit. Once she stood face to face to him it was then she knew it wasn’t a dream. It was the man in the flesh. She felt her stomach turning and constantly tying into knots. If it weren’t for her powers that prevented her from touching him she’s be all over him.
“Ah…Ah thought you were dead…”
She choked in a small whisper. She was more than happy to see that he was alive and well but at the same time she was furious at him for waiting as long as he did to finally make his appearance back at the mansion.
