Many people believe the mob to be a myth. A spook story made up by the government to make it seem like it was impossible for normal people to be involved with crime. But the problem is that the Sicilian Cosa Nostra breaks that myth. La Cosa Nostra is the Americanized version of that, becoming one of the biggest 'myths' of the world. No one knows who runs La Cosa Nostra, no one knows who's a part of it and how it's run. Of course, those who are involved know everything. La Cosa Nostra is secretly run by the Esposito family, the same family who happens to own one of the most popular hotels and casinos in all of Las Vegas - the Palms. Through that cover business, the Esposito family are able to run five different crime rings. Drug dealings, Prostitution, Hitmen, Robbery, and Grand Theft Auto. While their dealings take place all over the world, the hub of La Cosa Nostra is right in the heart of Las Vegas, where they recruit members.
You see, the Esposito family isn't your typical mob. They have no problem recruiting people outside of the family in order to get support. But that doesn't mean that they pick just anyone. Oh no. Candidates are carefully studied for months on end, to see their tendencies. The Espositos find that those who are new to Las Vegas, with shattered dreams are usually the best targets. These 'innocent ones' invest all of their money into their dreams and when most don't make it, they end up broke and have a need to return home. That's where the Espositos step in with a proposition.
How would you like to live a life full of adrenaline and entertainment, and make money for it?
Obviously, most are ecstatic to hear about the new possibility and are all ears. But once they agree, they're sucked in and they become part of the mob. Once you're in, you're in for life. Many don't mind, simply because they've finally found a staple of survival in a town that they came to make it big. They're making the big bucks and enjoying themselves while they're doing it so there are no problems. And besides, even if there was a problem - they wouldn't live to tell about it.
They say adrenaline's addicting and those members of La Cosa Nostra can testify to it. Even the most innocent of people, ones who never broke a law in their life find themselves soaked up in the dealings. It's the greed, the insatiable feeling that develops inside of you, no matter how innocent you are. Most blame it on the manipulation of the Espositos, but others blame the city of Las Vegas itself. Everything here is flashy, and to have a chance to be a part is everything these people want, even if it means putting their lives on the line. That innocence they had when they moved to Las Vegas? It's all lost once you step foot across this line. The line between simplicity and adventure. Take a leap, because there's no turning back.
welcome to lost innocence.
