[Misfortune]

Ten Years Ago

Apocalypse had been defeated, or rather he had been put in a pause quite literally as after all of the mutant affiliations worked as one, they managed to place him in stasis. A handful of powerful mutants, their names since erased from the data banks, had been placed in charge of entombing Apocalypse and keeping him out of reach of anyone who may have plans on reviving the threat that once almost subjugated mankind and reshaped the world to become his servants.

It had been during the battle against the followers of Apocalypse, who were fighting to free their master before he would be entombed for good, that a major disaster unfolded to a degree where both Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr Magnus had to work together along with their strongest and most able had to combine their strengths to stop Apocalypse's followers. They all vanished in that incident....

Both the X-Men and the Brotherhood were left without leaders and in somewhat chaos. Some belived those involved had been killed while others thought there was a chance that a mutant more potent than the lot had moved the battle elsewhere.

Now

Where the X-Men, Brotherhood, and Acolytes had once been in chaos, over the years they had reformed- new leaders rising to take the place of the lost. The Friends of Humanity had become a stronger group, constantly trying to get laws passed against mutant kind to try to keep them in check and in memory of the incident that passed ten years ago, the group had managed to get their fingers into several important pies. It was due to this that they managed to start on the Sentinel Program.

Most recently, there had been rumors of the fall of Apocalypse's keepers and activities in his followers which the FOH used as an excuse to rile up the government enough to allow the Sentinel Program to be finally launched.
