Dick Grayson rushed into his Bludhaven base of operations. It was where a good deal of his work with the Teen Titans took place. He wasted no time in jetting to his communication hub, needing to get into contact with every member as soon as he could. They would likely panic when he informed them of the news, but he wouldn't have time to give them any great comfort.
He had a plan, and a big one at that. It would not be safe in most of America tomorrow for superheros, vigilantes, mutants and members of certain teams. He would be transporting his Titans to the now out of use Watchtower. He encouraged leaders of other teams to do the same. The Justice League had been disbanded, but Dick still had access to the still operating Watchtower.
The young vigilante worked his way into the communication system and right off the bat he began calling for his team members, colleagues and trainees to come to his base so that further arrangements and discussions could be made.

Cassandra was walking home from her last class of the day when her cell phone buzzed. "Now who could it be at this hour? I'm tired and just want to go home." Cassandra thought rather irritatedly as the phone kept buzzing.
Upon getting the message from Dick, she quickly found a secluded spot on campus, slipped into the Batgirl outfit she kept in her backpack while thinking "It's a good thing I always keep a spare outfit in my backpack in case I need it."
Batgirl then headed over to Nightwing's base. Upon arriving she said"I got your message, Nightwing, what's up?"

Kara flew over the airspace of Bludhaven, a place she had long loathed and often wished she had used her superpowers to demolish the whole place.
Still the town was in the fairly good hands of Nightwing and his allies.
While Kara knew very little of them, she can guess that they are struggling to at least make a difference in the aftermath of the war without compromising their own ideals.
Kara flew by Bludhaven for one reason only: it was the quickest way to Gotham City and after that Mertopolis...
Why are you still going through this nonsense over and over again in your mind? Just get it in already: YOU ARE NOT SUPERMAN!!! YOU CAN NEVER FILL IN HIS SHOES!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE?!!
The thoughts came forth like lava. Kara had them of late. What she trying to prove? She found herself looking at normal people with their small problems with envy.
She never asked for these powers but yet she had them so where she can go from here?
Kara missed Metropolis but does the city need any more protectors?
Just then Supergirl overheard a disturbance over the airwaves with her super hearing. It was a frequency she had more or less recognized: a anarchic version of a JL message.
Despite her misgivings about Bludhaven, Kara became curious enough to fly towards the source of the transmission.

"Call me Dick", he said without looking up from the giant computer that he sat in front of. "I'm not in costume", he reminded.
He finally spun around and looked at Batgirl. "I'm trying to get everyone I can out here so that I can get them somewhere safe."
He spun back around and continued sending out messages and frequencies. "There is going to be a lot of chaos very soon, and if we're going to help anyone we need to get organized in a place that is safe."
He rubbed his temples in frustration and then looked back to Batgirl. "We're going to the Watchtower."

Shockwave sat in front of the large, popular mall on the Friday evening. She leaned against a large fountain in the middle of the courtyard as she fidgeted with her metal earring. Gwen took it out and rubbed it around with her fingers, only to see a small spark emit from the small stud. Her eyes widened in wonder and she pulled it up close to her face, eyes crossed.
When there's trouble you know who to call... TEEN--
Gwen jumped at the sound of her loud ringtone and immediately jerked her cell phone out of her pants to see who was calling. Hastily, Shockwave flipped it open, only to have it fling into the fountain in front of her. Her jaw dropped and she jumped into the wet work of art, splashing around to save the phone. "Ah! Crap!"
"Miss, I'm going to need to ask you to step out of the fountain immediately." A security guard ordered from behind the young woman. Gwen froze, only to turn behind her and smile sheepishly. After apologizing profusely, she pulled out her phone, finding it dead as a phone could possibly be. With a sigh, Shockwave found herself jogging in the direction of Nightwing's Base of Operations, and before she knew it, she stood in front and walked right in.
"Hey, uh, I got a call from you..." Gwen called as she walked in, noticing the many rooms. She had no idea where he was. "...And my phone has taken some water damage..." Slipping her phone into her pocket, Gwen ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. "Where are you?" She asked loudly, cupping her mouth as if the sound would travel farther.

Dick had left Cassandra in charge of contacting the Titans and allies that had not answered yet. She wasn't too talkative a person, but she could get the job done. That was Dicks problem, he had too much faith in people. He was known to take others in when the rest of the world seemed to turn their backs on the person.
He stood in front of a mirror in his personal room. He decided not to wear his costume today. It would be quite a shock to his members, but it would also make him seem a more trusting figure and not just a man behind a mask. He had changed from his ripped slacks to a new pair of charcoal gray ones.
Dick looked to one side as he heard Gwen calling out for him. He walked out of his room and stepped silently behind her. "Right here", he said with a smile. He sighed deeply and slowly met her eyes.
"Something has gone wrong.."

Gwen turned as she absorbed the surroundings, not noticing how close his voice was. Right as she took another step, the clumsy hero smacked right into the man who was unusually wearing regular clothing. "Oompf." Murmured she as she gazed up and saw piercing blue eyes instead of the usual domino mask. Shocked, Gwen took a cautious step back, her grey eyes wide. "Whoa. Is... Is that you?" She asked, flustered because of her clumsiness. The young woman of scarlet locks raised a brow and dropped her jaw as she quickly soaked in her friend's new attire. "Slacks." She said simply, pulling her eyes back to his. Gwen still flinched when she saw them; it was going to take some getting used to. "Nice."
"Something has gone wrong."
Shockwave scratched the back of her head with a grin. Doesn't something always go wrong? She thought to herself, holding back a chuckle. "It must be pretty bad, seeing as how you called me!" Letting out a small laugh, it quickly died before her joking face veiled swiftly with seriousness. "...Okay, what happened?" A concerned glanced turned Dick's way. Blue eyes. Blue eyes. Pants. Shirt-- You can't expect him to sleep in his costume, can you??

Dick looked down at the redhead, who stood a bit shorter than he did. He raised an eyebrow as he looked down to see a small puddle of water gather about her shoes. Sometimes these kids were stranger than he care to think on.
"Of course it's me...", he said with a tiny smirk. His blue eyes met her grey eyes and he considered how he would tell the energetic young woman about the recent revelations. He hesitated and put his hand on her shoulder.
"Well..", he said with a deep sigh. He wondered if the others would ever show up. "The Untouchables...they're going to charged with some war crimes. It's not going to be safe in America, and it'll be too chaotic to form teams here.."
He removed his hand and began into his room, motioning for the younger girl to follow him. "I'm going to be taking my team, and some others, to the Watchtower. We can get organized there and be ready when it is time for action. Things could get ugly."
He stepped into his room and rushed to the closet, stepping inside the walk-in. A few moments later he walked back with some folded fabric in his hands. He tossed it to to Gwen and smiled.
"I told you I would get you into a costume", he said slyly as he watched her carefully.

As her mentor gazed down at her wet feet, Gwen could only smile sheepishly in response. At least her phone still worked-- but the young woman seemed to get the feeling that Nightwing had more important things to talk about. Her mind wandered to what he told her recently, about his parents, and she found herself lightly fumbling with her hands idly. It wasn't as if Gwen could just say 'Oh, I am sorry' and it would be all better. Obviously Dick had coped with it since he's here, smiling right now. Shockwave was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt a hand lightly pressed onto her shoulder. Looking upwards, she saw the man before her look slightly pained, as if he were planning on telling her something horrible to hear.
The Untouchables charged with war crimes? Gwen thought to herself as her friend spoke. Cogs turned within her mind, and one of the questions lingered-- What did that have to do with her? She didn't take part in the war, and if she had, she doubted it would be with the Untouchables. After a few moments of thought, she figured since America thinks in generalizations, that they would think all heroes were obviously terrorists in some way-- whether they participated in the war or not. It was frightening. Pepper had called her earlier as well, and she sounded scared. Her cousin's voice never faltered. And if Nightwing was taking this so seriously, something must be going on that meant all attention was to be paid.
Shockwave pushed some hair behind her right ear as she followed Dick to his room. She glanced around at the walls and the floor; she felt as if she were spying. Rubbing her hands up and down her forearms to warm herself up, she smiled. Suddenly Gwen felt the soft impact of material hitting her chest and landing in her arms.
"I told you I would get you into a costume."
Gwen double-took from the material before her to the man in front of her. Her grey eyes widened animatedly and she held it up, allowing the fabric to unfold, revealing a costume. She lifted her knee to reveal her pants leg dripping from the water, and she sighed. "I will only comply if I can hang my clothes out and change back into them when they dry." Raising a brow, her expression questioned Dick Grayson.

Dick smiled as she motioned towards her sopping wet jeans. He still had no real idea what had happened, but he stuck with his decision to not ask.
"Deal", he said with a definitive nod and a wink."It's got some features I'll teach you about later..", he added as he approached his student and team member.
He wasn't sure what to do after he had revealed the truth to her and given her the costume. He nodded almost to himself as a worried look seem to cross his face. He looked down at her suddenly.
"If you have anybody who might be in danger...", he trailed off. "You're welcome to bring them with us."

A blue Acura Acura NSX pulled up outside of Dick's base a few moments later Tony Stark got out with briefcase in hand placing it on the roof of the car as he looked around at Nightwings base. "How gloomy." He said to himself as he caught site of Pepper's car pulling up he walked over and opened the door for her. "Welcome to the bird cave." He said before glancing up at the sky "We should get moving we're more likely being watched." he said before looking back at Pepper. S.H.I.E.L.D. most likely had a team over head watching the city and getting ready for tomorrow's attack. Walking back over Tony grabbed his briefcase and gave his car one last look it most likely wouldn't be there when he got back.

Pepper had time on the drive over to think about something Tony had said earlier - not much earlier, but back when they had been at the War Memorial. He'd mentioned the world being afraid of them and she had thought the most basic reply ever: children hate their parents, but their parents protect them anyway. She'd been wrong. She was so convinced she had been right, that the people of the world wouldn't turn against them because they needed them. But now...apparently....they didn't need them. And now the protectors were the hunted.
"Welcome to the bird cave."
Pepper blinked, not realizing she'd actually pulled in behind Tony's car. They'd reached the base, and she looked out the front window of her car. Dark, gloomy - even a little ominous. She was afraid again.
Tony was holding the door for her. She looked up at him, shaken, then got out of the car and grabbed her briefcase and purse. She made sure that was all she had and all she needed - and then she left her car. She was going to miss that car. Tony was looking back at his now and Pepper had an overwhelming urge to comfort him. But he didn't need it. What they needed right now was safety.
His hesitation looking back prompted her to reach over and touch his arm. The moment she did so, an electric tingle forced her to withdraw her hand and she turned and scurried inside, hiding a blush. Bad idea, remember?
She followed the sound of voices until she entered a room with a number of people in it. Batgirl, Supergirl, Nightwing himself...and her cousin, soaking wet. "Now I see why you sounded so funny on the phone," she said to Gwen, announcing her presence.

Her eyes scanned the fabric, and she inwardly sighed. Only for ten minutes, The young hero said to herself. Only ten minutes. As if on cue, when Dick Grayson offered to home a few temporarily, Shockwave turned and saw her cousin and Pepper's boss entering the building. Gwen crookedly smiled to Nightwing and held out her arm, motioning to the others. "Yeah, uh, I hope you don't mind."
Pepper commented on Gwen's clothes and she grinned, holding up her arms and pretending to give her a hug while soaked. "Hey, be happy my phone worked!" She told Pepper as she pulled out the cell for emphasis. "Dishing it out of the mall fountain is not particularly fun, especially when you're stopped by security in front of everyone."
An ashen gaze glanced at Tony Stark; Gwen felt surprisingly intimidated. I guess it's better to get to the point. She thought to herself. Suddenly, her usual casual expression shifted. Her eyes turned to Nightwing as they eagerly asked him to explain to the two the horrors of the war crimes and the Untouchables. Gwen, in the mean time, wanted to change into her costume so her clothes would dry. To be frank, she didn't feel like downing her mood any more than it was due to the bad news. Now was a time to be worried, and Shockwave wanted to avoid that feeling as greatly as possible.

Dick Grayson heard newcomers entering his quarters, and rushed to greet them. There stood Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. They waltzed right into the "cave". The birdcave. Many had referred to it as that, even Nightwing himself on occasion.
Dick stepped up while Pepper and Gwen began to chatter. "It's an honor, Mr. Stark", Dick said as he began to shake the older mans hand. Grayson looked down at his watch and sighed. "We should get going now to be the first at the Watchtower to stabilize things. We'll come back for those that can't make the trip themselves..."
He looked over at Pepper and gave her a quick nod and a smile. "Ms. Potts..", he greeted her. "Dick Grayson.."
He looked across the room at the tiny group. "There isn't much time. Some should already be at the Watchtower. This way...", he trailed off as he began walking to the transportation hangar.

Pepper gulped.
Seriously, she remembered Tony's warning about space travel, but she had no idea he was completely serious. She'd thought perhaps it was a slight joke, that the Watchtower wasn't actually near 'real' space, but perhaps high in the mountains. But now that Dick Grayson, (the infamous Nightwing, she knew him from the war and was silently thankful he hadn't called her out), was heading for the door she realized quite clearly that Tony hadn't been kidding.
She was very glad she'd only had a light breakfast because she was suddenly very frightened. She clutched her purse to her, feeling her palms sweat, and began to walk shakily towards the hangar. "So Tony..." she said. "Space travel?"
