Dick listened carefully as Barbara spoke to him, and began his long walk to his Bludhaven headquarters.
"Never trust the government, I guess", he said with a dissapointed sigh as he squeezed his way out of the alleyway that hid him.
"I just hope we can find the snitch before it's too late..."
Dicks mind could hardly grasp the magnitute of what was happening. Ted and Babs would be busy at work warning everyone they could. There would be no safety for him or his team in Bludhaven, he would have to evacuate to protect the teenagers who would be the real victims in this situation.
"I'm going to get the Titans to safety. I will call you tonight Babs. Stay safe", Dick flipped the black cell phone closed and shoved it into his pocket. It wasn't long until he decided to run to his base, an impending feeling of catastrophe weighing him down.

Tony looked at himself in the mirror and frowned when he noticed he wasn't as tall as he once was So much for being tall dark and hansom now I'm short old and awkward he thought with a roll of his eyes and a sigh before he looked back over at Pepper "We don't have to split up now." He said as he put on his sunglasses and picked up his briefcase "I hear the Bahamas are nice this time of year hoped you packed your swimsuit." he said grinning at Pepper before heading out the door and for the elevator to be taken to the car port.

[RDJr is not short, old, and awkward!  ) Pepper barely avoided giving a derisive snort. The two of them were running away from Stark Tower. It wasn't like she had kept a suitcase stuffed with clothes under her bed. Then again, she still had the account for the Tower locked away on her person. She could likely buy a swimsuit if it came to that. And if anyone tried to get mad at her for it - well she had good reason. Was Tony really intending on going to the Bahamas? For a moment, Pepper froze and remembered the talk she had had with him after the actions at the war memorial. She had thought she'd talked him into not giving up. And then there was the Avengers reforming. Wasn't he a part of that? "Tony..." she said..."I know we have to go into hiding but are we hiding or running away?" She looked up to see him vanishing into the elevator. She swore and sprinted after him, just making it into the elevator. |

"Think of it this way would you rather run and hid or get caught thrown into jail and become some womans play thing and having things done to you that you would never dream of doing with a woman." Tony said as he pushed a button to get the elevator moving to the car lot. Then looked over at Pepper "We'll find some place to lay low for a while till we can get things figured out then we'll do something." He said just as the bombs he planted went off making the elevator rock some what.

"I'm not you," Pepper replied glibly to him, but truth be told the images that speech had provoked in her head were entirely unpleasant and she sought for a little humor to get the images out. She managed a small, weak smile, and put her hand nervously over her purse, as though convinced someone was going to jump out of the wall and snatch the data files right out.
An idea occurred to her suddenly. "Tony...I might know someplace we can go. Other than the Bahamas I mean. Not that swimming isn't pleasant but neither of us have our swimsuits at the moment..." she trailed off to let the implications - however jokingly - sink in, and then pulled out her cell phone and dialed Gwen.
"Gwen? It's Virginia. I was wondering if there was room at the house for two."

"Virginia? Hey!" Her voice quieted as her cousin continued to explain her situation. "Uh, I think you're going to have to hold up on that..." Gwen said earnestly into the phone, scratching her head in a quiet concern. "Something's going down-- I mean, that's what Nightwing said." There was another pause, and she quietly walked down the hallway of Nightwing's Base of Operations so she wouldn't need to lower her voice for the others there. "I'm pretty sure I heard him say something about the Watchtower? Or it could have just been a watch..." The young woman trailed off, slightly confused.

Pepper's eyes widened. "All right, Gwen. We'll be there soon. Be safe and don't lose your phone, all right? I want to be able to call you."
She hung up and looked at Tony. "Nightwing is calling everyone to the Watchtower. From the sound of it, that's our safest bet. We just have to get there without being noticed." She resisted the urge to add the obvious insult to Tony's driving, deciding that enough sharp humor had already been demonstrated. "If they were trying to keep it quiet, they're failing. If Nightwing knows, all of the Untouchables know, and they'll all be heading in that direction."
She looked at Tony, waiting to hear his decision, and realized for the first time that day that she was honestly afraid.

"The Watchtower? well then we better head to Blüdhaven so we can be filled in on what's going on." Tony said just as the doors opened he stepped out then turned to look at Pepper when he realized she never been space before. "Remind me when we're there to give you a crash course in going into space." He said not sure if they were going by rocket or be teleported in. He hoped it was the second one it would be easier on Pepper, being space sick isn't fun. He then began to walk off heading for one of the cars.

"No problem," Pepper replied, her stomach turning over already. Space?
Tony began to head for one of the cars and Pepper decided to split and follow him. He drove like a maniac but her brain was in self-preservation mode. And truth be told if they WERE being followed, it would be safer for them to be in two separate cars. Her, with her information, and him with his. That way perhaps one of them would get to Bludhaven safely.
She got into a car and prepared to follow him, whispering prayers for his safety and then her own.

Tony made his way over to his blue Acura Acura NSX he never got drive this sports car yet till now. Walking over he opened the door and got in and put his briefcase in the other set then started the car up and sped out of the tower heading for Blüdhaven with Pepper following behind. He still didn't understand why she wouldn't ride with him ok so he drove a little fast that didn't mean he was going to crash he knew what was doing.
