Outnumbered (OPEN)

"Where are Batman, Batgirl, Huntress, Nightwing and Spoiler when you need them?"

Tim Drake was running as fast as he could from the group of ferocious men. There were at least four times as many as he had counted on. But that was his fault. He planned this whole take down poorly. And now he was being shot at and chased by a group of angry criminals. And nobody was answering on his comm link.

"Probably--ungh---probably too busy buying flowers or wedding invitations or whatever"

He scaled a wall in no time, while bullets zipped through his flowing cape. He continued to scurry up the stone, the criminals hot on his heels. He reached the roof in no time and quickly shot off his jump-line. As he swung from the top of the building, he felt a sudden jolt.

He looked up just in time to see a bullet piercing his line and sending him flailing through the night sky.

[Batgirl]

While doing a rather unusual patrol in Gotham City rather than Bludhaven, Batgirl saw Robin start plummeting towards the street. She then saw something had pierced his rope. Her one thought was "I've got to do something about this or Nightwing'll never forgive me if Robin gets himself seriously hurt or even killed on my watch, worse I'll never be able to forgive myself!!"[/color] She then called"Hang on Robin, Help's on the way!!![/b]

[Shockwave]

Shockwave was walking back from a grocery store when she suddenly tripped, sending the two large bags she held crashing to the ground. Turned backwards to see what tripped her, Gwen found the limp shoelace sprawled outside the knot she had just tied. The scarlet haired woman bent down to tie her shoes, until a few loud gunshots echoed throughout the unusually silent city.

Ditching her shoes, Gwen broke out into a full-fledged run, attempting to find the source of the bullets. She found herself running past merely two blocks when she saw a faint shadow form on the sidewalk she stood on. Curiously, she stared up with her dull grey eyes, only to see Robin falling from the roof of the building. Her eyes widened in sudden fright and uncertainty. What the heck do I do in this situation??

Gwen contemplated holding out her arms and trying to catch him, but he would only fall out and smash just as hard onto the solid concrete due to her weak arms. Then it hit her-- If Shockwave were to rub her hands together fast enough, maybe it'll form a blanket of static to catch him!

Highly illogical, yes, but worth a shot. For all Gwen knew, Robin knew what he was doing and didn't need saving. But before she knew it, Gwen found herself rubbing her hands together feverishly, attempting to make her feeble plan work.

As Robin continued to plummet through the air, he struggled to grab onto his grappling hook. Who would have guessed it would be so difficult to get your equipment straight while you're being hurled to the concrete below in freezing weather?

"Hang on Robin, Help's on the way!!!

He heard a familiar voice pierce through the darkness, but saw nobody. He finally had his hands on his grappling hook and ripped it out. He prepared to shoot it when all of a sudden he hit something.

Something that shocked him a little at first. He lay on his back for a second or two as he observed his surroundings. He was suspended on some kind of layer of electricity or static.

Things sure did get strange in Gotham at this time of night. He rubbed his head and sat up awkwardly. He looked around for his rescuer.

[Batgirl]

Upon saying this Batgirl deployed a second line and swung over to where Robin was falling, praying she'd gotten to him in time. She then engaged her comm link and called (not quite panicking but darn close to it!!) " Batman, Huntress, Nightwing, Spoiler, Anybody It's Batgirl!! Someone somehow pierced Robin's line, Please respond ASAP[/u] [/color]

[Shockwave]

"OHMIGAWDITWORKED!" Gwen exclaimed loudly, sending asleep birds perched on rooftops astray. She smiled wide and watched as Robin sat on the newly configured 'static saver' as she would call it. He looked dumbfounded. "Hey hey!" She exclaimed with a teasing voice. "I would say 'Nice of you to drop in', but I would have to admit, I'd feel extremely lame." She attempted to flip some of her crimson hair out of her face by tilting her head quickly, but it only resulted in her getting some in her mouth. After a moment of attempting to remove the rebellios strands from her mouth without hands, they finally fell.

There was a moment of awkward silence. Shockwave opened her mouth into a surprised oh! and clapped her hands, retracting the sudden shield, and accidentally dropping Robin down a mere foot onto the ground. She muttered a quiet "Aaah..." As if she learned something. Which she did. So it was fitting. "Heh, sorry Robin." Gwen murmured with a crooked smile. "But you gotta admit, that was awesome!" After a brief pause, she quickly added, "Did that shock you?" And stared at Tim with expectant eyes.

Robin arched his eyebrows inwards as he listened to the crimson-haired woman ramble on. She certainly did have a mouth on her.

"I would say 'Nice of you to drop in', but I would have to admit, I'd feel extremely lame."

Robin sat up a little more so that he could get a good look at Shockwave. He remembered her from the Teen Titans meeting.

"If you said that, I would say you've been spending too much time with Nightwing"

Tim was about to speak again when the static blanket fell out from underneath him. He hit the cold hard cement below with a sudden thud. He sat up again awkwardly and rubbed the back of his head again.

"It was pretty cool.And yeah, it did shock a little"

He smiled upwards at her and then stood up suddenly.He heard the sounds of a crowd of men running towards them.

"But we can talk about that later!"

He grabbed the womans wrist and spun her around so that she could see the looming threat that was rumbling towards them.

[Shockwave]

"...I would say you've been spending too much time with Nightwing."

Gwen Stratford couldn't help but laugh at this-- it was true. The man was chocked full of witty one-liners. Her eyes closed as she giggled until she heard a thud. After Shockwave rambled on about how impressed she was with her newfound power, she tilted her head and smiled at Robin once he agreed.

Gwen would have turned her head immediately to the sudden sound as Tim did had she not been basking in her glory. She opened her mouth, probably to say something unnecessary, Robin had snatched her wrist. Gwen's grey eyes widened and she pointed to the crowd. "Uh oh!" She exclaimed, taking a few steps back. "Wanna drop a few hints, here??" She asked desperately to Robin despite the fact that she wanted to be a brave, strong hero.

[Batgirl]

Just then Batgirl landed and said "Robin I was the one who called out to you a few moments ago, but enough of that now, I can see we've got trouble!! Anyone, any suggestions other than RUN!!! [/color]

"Wanna drop a few hints, here??"

Robin listened to the woman as he focused his eyes on the approaching Batgirl. She dropped down next to them. She was being much more talkative than usual for reasons that weren't quite clear to Robin.

"I'll explain it all once we get up this building"

He motioned suddenly to the tall structure in front of them. It wouldn't be much trouble for him or for Batgirl, they were world class building scalers. He wasn't sure about the redhead though. He sprinted towards the building, making sure the other two women were following.

"Think you can get up here?"

He shot off his grapple hook and listened as it latched onto the edge of the building. He would help her up if she needed it, but he never wanted to underestimate his teammates.

[Shockwave]

"...Got any other suggestions other than RUN!"

Gwen smiled as Batgirl ran up to the two of them, but Batgirl was more eager about surviving rather than having a conversation. "Probably a good idea!" She exclaimed to Batgirl with a smile, until she was asked by Robin if she could climb the building in order to escape.

Shockwave pursed her lips and crossed her arms as she stared at the tall building. "Mmm." She replied in an extremely, slow thought. The men were coming. Gwen had to think faster or else they'd reach Robin, Batgirl and her. "Let me try!" She remarked in response to Robin's question. Gwen jumped up to grab for a small windowpane far above her. Again and again, she was merely a few inches short. "Almost... there..." It would have been a very amusing scene to watch had there not been a bunch of angry males with guns approaching them, fast.

"You know," Gwen began, placing a finger at her chin and analyzing the situation once again. "I'm starting to doubt my superb climbing abilities." She stated frankly. The men were so close-- Shockwave turned her head and her grey eyes widened dramatically. Now she decided to pick up her pace. "Okay, okay, I'm going to need help!!" She waved her arms around and winced, awaiting an impact from one of the oncoming men.

Robin took the time that Shockwave had spent trying to grab onto a window pane to peruse the contents of his utility belt.

"About to buy us some time guys"

He ripped out a handful of tiny spherical gas capsules and rolled them between his fingers for a few seconds before hurling them towards the feet of the men who still gave chase. As soon as the balls made impact with the concrete plumes of gas clouds shot up and the men started coughing quite loudly.

"Okay, okay, I'm going to need help!!"

"I got ya"

Robin wrapped an arm around Shockwaves waist and pulled suddenly on the rope that hung down from the grapple hook. He was quite strong for a teenage boy, and had no problem lifting her up as the zipline started zooming upwards. He looked behind to make sure the deft Batgirl was close behind.

When Batgirl saw Robin looking at her she said "Don't bother about me!! I'll be all right even with the gas!! Just get Shockwave out of here!" [/color]Having said this Batgirl slipped on her gas mask and went to try something she'd just thought of: tying up the criminals while she had the advantage of smoke and them coughing too hard to put up much, if any, resistance.

[Shockwave]

A large amount of smog emitted from the weapons Robin threw in defense for Shockwave to start hauling ass. The grey eyes, which began watering from the smoke, searched eagerly for Batgirl, but she had disappeared in the toxic veil.

Fortunately, Robin pulled Gwen up in the nick of time, yet she found herself standing stiff on the roof. After waving her arms around, attempting to keep herself balanced, she found herself yelling to Robin: "What about Batgirl?" She became shrouded in worry-- Shockwave didn't need to be saved in spite of another! She frowned and crossed her arms.

When Batgirl told Robin to get Shockwave out of the situation, her being as unexperienced as she was, Gwen felt guilty. But Batgirl IS a superhero. Gwen thought to herself as she turned to Robin, awaiting her next order. She knows what she's doing.

Tim reached the roof in no time, and promptly set the woman down on her feet. He hurried back to the edge to look down and see Batgirl. The young hero had ordered him to get Shockwave out of the dangerous situation.

"What about Batgirl?"

"Batgirl is probably the greatest martial artist in the world"

He took a deep breath as he hovered over the edge to try and get a good look. He knew the young woman could handle the group of men, especially now that he had subdued them with some low level knock out gas.

"Dammit!"

Robin reeled back from the edge and slammed his foot into the concrete roof. He was very angry with himself that he had so badly botched this job. He hated when he didn't plan things well. It frustrated him horribly.
