Shockwave's grey eyes turned to the left of her as Batgirl walked past her into Nightwing's hospital room. As she spoke about him and one of her teammates getting injured, Gwen let out a small, airy laugh. Her chest was aching. Most likely a bad sign. A hand slightly pulled to the top of her ribcage where she applied pressure. She had no idea what it was doing, but the pain subsided when her hand pressed. Letting out a sigh, Gwen dropped her arm and pain immediately flooded through her chest again, but only a grimace appeared on the outside. She never imagined she could hold together in that state.
Once Oracle brought up Batman, Shockwave listened intently. Batman. One of the most famous heroes on the planet. And vigilante, no less. She imagined him as somewhat intimidating, standing extremely tall and thick with muscles, glaring down through his dark mask. Then the woman in the wheelchair said something else. JLA. "What's 'JLA'?" Gwen asked curiously, never hearing of the phrase before. Perhaps it was an internet acronym, meaning something intelligent and clever. She gulped. That would just prove her smarts, wouldn't it?
Jubilee addressed Gwen and she smiled wearily. "I've been... up to nothing, really." She frowned. The last event she remembered was taking care of a break in in Bludhaven, where she was lectured by Robin. She rolled her eyes and let out a defeated sigh. Gwen believed there was no hope that those two would get along. Clashing personalities, she guessed. "But what about you?" Her dull, grey eyes pulled from zoning out on the hospital bed's wheels back to her new friend. "Did you officially tell the X-Men that you're with us, now?" Shockwave had vaguely heard of the super group. She felt as if the group were elitist; however, she had never really met anyone from the X-Men, that she knew of, besides Jubilee. Running images of some of the heroes through her mind, she saw none that carried no power at all. Either way, Gwen's eyes stayed on Jubilee, happily and curiously, while she awaited a response.
