[Echo]

Mike just rolled his eyes when the old timer pulled his gun on him. With a snap of his fingers a blast shot out from the hilt he had clipped on his belt, and fried the barrel of Deathstroke's gun. "Don't screw with me old man." He said apathetically.
Watz, not caring much what Slade would say or do, turned to Pepper. "Ms. Potts, usually I would advise against such actions, but doing so now would only make me a hypocrite." He said in a very serious tone. "So, if you intend to go after the one who killed Mr. Stark I know someone who will be able and willing to assist you in combat. Also, you'll probably be need some equipment, yes?"

[Pepper]

"Darkseid is a god," Pepper repeated. "I doubt he'll even notice it if I just go whale on him. But everyone has a weakness that can be exploited. Even a god. I need to find that weakness. And I need to be able to defend myself while I work on exploiting it. And yes, I need to be able to take on his minions. So if you're offering I guess I'll accept." She didn't like saying that. She didn't like trusting him to teach her and not kill her on the spot. And most of all she just hated him. But she could not do this alone. She needed help. She needed a team, technology, skills. And she was standing in front of two men who could help her with that.

"To...Mr. Sta..." her throat closed and she swallowed hard, unable to get the name out. "He made a mistake giving Jarvis a personality. The computer at Stark Industries won't help me at all. I have plans and blueprints, but nothing can or will be assembled for me there. Perhaps we can work something out, Mr. Watz?"

[Echo]

"Definitely." Michael replied in the same tone. "I've also been working on something I believe could prove to be most useful to you, but, I'd better not talk about it out in the open." He said, and then glanced around a little to make sure no one else was listening. "Perhaps we should take this conversation to my office." He suggested plainly.

[hawkeye]

While Mike was babbling away about crap Cheetah came up behind him and had her claws to his neck "You really should watch what you say little boy it might be the last thing you say." She said bringing her claws in closer in one quick move she could slice his neck open. "Cheetah so nice of you to join us." Deathstroke said as he tossed his gun away just because that was gone didn't mean he couldn't still hurt the brat if he really wanted to. "Sorry I was...eating someone..." She said as she licked the blood off her lips.

"Lady, I can snap my fingers and blow a hole through you. So I suggest you get your filthy paws the f**ck*** away from me right now." Mike was getting seriously pissed off with all these hotshots thinking they could off him at any time they felt. In reality it was probably the other way around. He might have been young, but he had skill and tech like no one else. Even Stark would have been blown away by what he had, and what he could do.

[Pepper]

Pepper, as cold and distant as she was, was wholly aware of the irony of the situation. Here she was actually looking for help to fight someone who had murdered the man she loved...and she was getting the most help from other villains. She nodded at Cheetah, her stomach turning slightly as the woman licked blood from her lips and tossed her tawny hair. The threat to Mr. Watz went checked however, because Pepper said: "Mr. Watz isn't of any threat to either of you. He is, however, possibly useful to me. So let's not go killing him. I think you will agree I will need all the help I can get."

She nodded in welcome to Cheetah but was unable to elaborate further. She could think the words but she still could not say them out loud. "I wish I was meeting you under more pleasant circumstances," she said. "As it is I am pleased to see you."

To Mr. Watz she added: "I am not sure privacy would be acknowledged or welcomed in this group. I am, after all, trusting my life right now to someone who I had sworn to kill..." she nodded at Deathstroke, "no offense...and if we work together no doubt you will receive some information on Stark technologies. We don't have time for privacy."

There was boom loud enough to blow the windows in the buildings in the area as a boomtube opened up and out stepped the Lord of Apokolips Darkseid he looked at the group he was aware of who Pepper was and what she was trying to do but it didn't bother him at the moment he was after someone in her group. The eight foot nine god stood there with his hands at his side his red eyes began to glow with the omega effect before twin beams shot out of his eyes they twisted and turned as they moved passed people and things before before hit Cheetah and just like that she was dead as well. "Do you really think you can stop me earthling?" He asked Pepper his voice even more colder then hers had been.

[Pepper]

Pepper jumped as the boom echoed through the city and a giant and terrible man came striding into the picture. Her whole body stiffened in absolute terror and dread and her stomach lurched towards her throat. At the same time she felt as though her body was being torn in half, because she watched in mute horror as twin beams shot out of the man's eyes and vaporized Cheetah where she stood. Just like that. Nothing remained.

Was that how he died?

Pepper opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Instead she turned her eyes towards the enormous man as he spoke to her, his voice cold enough to freeze the blood in her veins. He would see the terrible fear he inflicted upon her as she stared at the god she had sworn to take down. He would see the shock as she comprehended just how impossible a task this likely was.

And then he would see something he most likely wouldn't expect to see. He would see her eyes grow diamond-hard, her spine stiffen. He would hear her voice chill to match his.

He would see resolve. Determination. Drive. And he would see the fear drain away to be replaced with a firm and steady stare.

"I think that every sentient being has a weakness," she said.

[With Darkseid's ok]

A green concussive blast blew apart the area between Darkseid and the group before a man landed in front of Darkseid "I've killed your kind before god with my bare hands leave now before I add you to the others." Drax said staring down Darkseid. He knew what was going on he had been watching the group this whole time waiting for his chance to make himself known to them. "Do you think I'm scared of you?" Darkseid replied as he placed his hands behind his back. "You will be, I'm different then before." Drax said before punching Darkseid in the jaw it was followed by bone breaking. Darkseid was thrown off his feet and hit the ground hard. Before Drax could do anything more a boomtube opened and someone pulled Darkseid into it.

[Pepper]

Darkseid was staring back at Pepper when it happened, and even the blast didn't budge Pepper from her spot. She ducked, but didn't step back, and watched as the tough-looking - well she didn't know what he was. His skin was green marked with red, his eyes bright white, and his body muscular and large. She regarded him with a mixture of relief, gratitude, and that same cold detachment that she was reserving for everyone now.

"Thank you," she said. "I don't know where you came from or why you chose to help, but thank you. I may need your help in the future to fight that same monster again. What could I say or do to have your help?" She had Deathstroke's offer to train her and Watz's technology combined with Stark's. It would be of great benefit to her to have a muscle man, someone more capable than she of hand to hand combat with Darkseid.

"I was born here on earth I had a family we were killed by one Darkseid's kind I was reborn from the earth to hunt them down and kill every last one of them." Drax said as he turned to look at Pepper he wasn't really there to help Pepper with whatever it was she planing to do. "You don't need to ask I will kill him one way or another. What's your involvement with Darkseid?" He asked wondering why she would want to cross paths with someone like Darkseid he was pretty sure there was easier ways of killing ones self then picking a fight with a god.

[Pepper]

His famiy. Well not his family - but him and his family. The link between the two of them hung in the air, waiting for one of them to grab it. But Pepper could see the distance in his eyes. This man was sworn to kill all gods, not just Darkseid. His was a quest of vengeance just like hers, but his involvement would likely not be to the level she would require it. Nevertheless she decided she would try. She closed her eyes and nodded to the man. "He murdered my fiance, the man I loved more than anything on this earth. I know I can't kill him. But i will make him pay. And if you can help me with that, that would be all I ask."

When she opened her eyes they were full of unshed tears, tears she would not allow to be shed. She would not cry to manipulate anyone. But he would see the importance of this to her.

"Perhaps we can find a way to communicate with one another, so when I meet him again I can at least tell you where he is?" She was shooting in the dark, but this was the first person she had seen who could combat Darkseid. Echo and Deathstroke hadn't even tried.

[Echo]

Mike was rather surprised to see Darkseid suddenly appear, but he was not frightened. He was however, a bit intimidated when Cheetah was abruptly killed. He wasted no time whatsoever, and moved away from Cheetah as he drew his Beam Dagger, and extended the blade. He braced himself for combat, fully ready to take this guy on if he had to. However, he was hoping he wouldn't have to fight this dude without his armor.
Out of nowhere a strange man came onto the scene, and began fighting with Darkseid. Suddenly the young man wasn't so sure as to what was going on now. The man didn't appear to be an enemy, in fact was was an enemy of their enemy, and in Michael's book that made him a friend.

~Hm... Things are getting complicated, and dangerous. We'd better start devising a plan soon.~ He thought to himself as he stared at Pepper.

[terminator]

"Hate to break up this little party but the cops are coming and unless you want to spend the night with them I sugest we move to some place new." Deathstroke said once everything seemed to clam down a bit "In case you all forgot we are still wanted people for war crimes and I'm not looking forword to being locked up for the rest of my life. If you plan on taking out Darkseid you better get a move on it." He said to the others he was going to leave with or with out them.

(I asked myself if I could use Deathstroke in my post and after some fighting I agreed to let myself us him.)

Barda came out of the store she had been shopping in when she heard the sound of the boomtube but by the time she got outside the whoever came though it was gone. Looking around Barda spotted Deathstroke and a few other people walking over she was about to grab Deathstroke when he spotted her "Barda long time no see how have you been?" He asked only to get a glare from the taller woman "Anyways my friend here needs your help." He said pointing to Pepper "With what?" She asked looking at small blonde woman.

"You are the former leader of Darkseid's Female Fury Battalion and we want to go to Apokolips and need your help getting there since we don't know where your husband is at." He explained "Why do you want to go to Apokolips?" Barda asked once Deathstroke finished talking. "She wants to kill Darkseid for killing her fiance for no reason." He said. Barda frowned that didn't sound like Darkseid just out right kill someone with out having a reason. He always had a reason for doing what he did.
