Canada had stayed pretty much out of the war. The country had decided that the last thing it wanted was to get involved, so she had been pleasently nuetral to everybody. Even now that the war was over, the northern country had yet to come out of it's uncommunicative stasis and hadn't really contacted other countries aside from what needed to be said and done.
Normally, America tried to stay out of it's way, but this was a special occasion. A small time villain with some sort of powers or another had stolen some pricey artifacts and run over the boarder. Normally, such a case would be left to the police, but the police weren't being allowed to cross. Some beurocratic hibberty gibberish about weapons and boarder laws.
So it was that Raven found herself sneaking over the boarder looking for a criminal and artifacts she didn't really care about much. She didn't even want to think about how she'de gotten drafted into this one, thinking for the hundreth time how much easier life would be if she'de just stayed in San Fran.
Once she was over, Raven took to the skies, flying till she came to the largest city. Floating down to a roof-top she couldn't help but stare. It was all so, calm. None of the people showed the signs of war that all American citizens seemed to have inherited without thought. The city itself was doing well and Raven lost herself in thought, remembering, and hoping, and not keeping her guard up.

Gambit was hot on the trail of a known thief. He was wanted in both Canada and America, and had proven to be a dangerous fighter, possessing certain superhuman abilities, but Gambit had always liked a challenge.
He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, which was quite swiftly. That criminal could not evade the Cajun for long, he always got his man. This would be no exception.
But as he jetted through the city streets, doing his best to evade the weapons that the thief was hurling back at him, Gambit slammed into a young girl who was just standing there in some sort of haze.
"Cho!", he exclaimed as he stumbled downwards. He quickly stood and brushed off his long brown coat, extending his hand to the girl cloaked in purple. "Excuse Gambit, mon petite! Gambit clumsy, eh?"

Dick Grayson was pretty sure his Titans were already chasing the criminal down. He had heard the reports flowing in and out between the two countries. He had decided he did not want to get involved at the moment. He was feeling a bit out of it.
Unless of course, the criminal just so happened to cross his path. Then he wouldn't be able to stop himself. He secretly hoped that would be the case.
But for now he was enjoying one of his few days off. He sat at a tiny cafe, outside, enjoying the sunlight and cool air. He sipped on his beverage and kicked his feet up as he watched the people around him interact.

A young woman with long dark brunette hair walked along the side walk with a small bag swinging carelessly from her shoulder. She looked up and down the street and into cafe windows. After a moment of continuous walking and peeking into stores, she spotted the firey red hair she was looking for. Angel was sitting at a cafe which had tables outside. There was a hot mug of coffee in her hand and the steam blew about with the breeze. She never had liked sitting inside with a lot of people. Lishell jogged up to her former queen. "I got it. It's not red but....Mi'Lady?" Lishell looked down and realized Angel had her chin rested heavily in her palm and her eyes were closed. Of course. They had come to Canada to take a vacation. Angel was tired of being flooded with jobs. And if Angel left far off somewhere, Lishell had to come. Smiling Lishell sat down and reached across the small, circular wooden table and patted Angel on the shoulder. Slowly her lids opened to reveal the dull green eyes beneath. "what..Oh, Lishell. Did you find it?" Angel asked rubbing the sleep away. "Yes but it's in black." Lishell pulled a black tank top from the bag. "Oh well. At least I don't haveta wear this anymore." Angel motioned to the green T-shirt she was wearing. On the flight over some idiot spilled coffe on her red tank and she had to borrow a shirt from someone else, and she hadn't had a chance to change.

Raven was shocked out of her reverie when she was knocked down, the criminal she was looking for, it seemed, had already found her. And a fight to boost. A man wearing a long brown trench coat held out a hand to her, speaking in with a french accent. She gladly took it, pulling her hood over her head.
"Thank you." She said sincearly, and was about to say more when she saw a throwing knife sailing through the air towards both of them. Spinning around she stopped dead in the air, dropping it harmlessly to the ground. People at a nearby cafe shrieked and ran for the hills. Raven rolled her eyes and turned to Gambit.
"I don't suppose you know anything about our theif here, do you? Powers, record, you name it."

Angel walked out of the bathroom of the cafe she was at now wearing the red tank top. As she strode out she heard screaming. Both her and Lishell's heads snapped in the direction of the noise to see people fleeing and a man armed with knives. Lishell turned to say something, only to see her mistress zip past her. As she ran, Angel's markings became visable on her face and a mask slightly similar to Nightwing's but with out whited out eyes appeared on her face. As she ran, she spotted Raven and Gamit, and sensed power from them both. Raven, she could tell, was a powerful telepath like herself. As the criminal took off, Angel refocused her attention on him. Slightly leaning forward and letting her arms trail behind her she ran ever faster. She followed him around a corner, only to find he had disapeared. Skidding to a stop she extended an invisable field of telekenetic energy a 25 radius around her. All objects 200 pounds or less began to float. She saw a slight change in the position of a small rock and ducked just in time as it was hurled towards her. So, he could turn invisible. Moving her hancds forward, they glowed cyan and the objects hurled towards the direction the criminal was in.

Gambit grinned outwardly at the girl he had just helped stand up. She was an odd-looking young lady, very intriguing. Gambit was about to protect the woman and grab the soaring dagger, but there was no need for that, as the steely object quickly dropped from the sky. Gambit raised an eyebrow, looking quickly from Raven to the knife on the ground below.
"Ya are a mutant too?"
He said as he reached down and picked up the blade. "Gambit is a mutant, yeah." He grinned and passed the knife from hand to hand before pocketing it.
"Dat bon rien just rounded corner, he aint no good for nothing! Goes about da whole sainted wirl thieving what he will! Got da power to turn invisible, yeah, and he be powerful strong too", he said as he prepared once again to give chase until all of a sudden Gambit, and an array of other objects as well, began to float.
His red eyes darted back and forth before landing on Raven. "You be doin' this, eh, petite?"

Raven shook her head in answer to Gambit's question. "No, not a mutant. Let's just say, I'm not from around here." She listened to what he told her about the theif, nodding her head quickly. As the thief rounded the corner, A huge amount of objects begane to float. Gambit asked her wheather she was doing it, but Raven could only shake her head.
"No," She answered, "But I can find who can." Closing her eyes for a moment she immedietly saught to source of the power. Opening her eyes once again she saw a woman with strange face marking and a domino mask. "There!"
Objects begane to fly through the air, and Raven said to Gambit, "You deal with the criminal, I'll deal with red and creepy here."
following her own words, Raven flew to where Angel stood. Floating behind the other telepath, black energy collected in her hand, Raven said to the red-hed,
"I sure hope you're on our side."

Angel hurled some more objects where she sense the criminal was. As she was about to attack again she sensed Raven and wheeled around ready to fight. Then she heard what Raven had said and lowered her guard, the blue glow fading from her hands. "Yeah I'm on your side." She said with a bored exression. As another knif flew through the air towards the girls Angel caught it between her fingers and threw it back. She sighed deeply, all she wanted was a few days off, but she couldn't get even that. When it came to criminals, she was a golden retriver and they were a tenis ball. Standing back as Lishell approached with an origami wolf in her hand, Angel held up her arm. "We'll leave the rest to them, it was originally their job anyways. I'd hate to interfere." Lishell responded with a nod and dropped the origami that was charged with energy just in case Lishell would need to attack, but now it was pointless and she turne and waited for Angel to follow. Angel turned her back and her facial markings faded with a mental cloak but she comunicated with Raven telepathically as she walked behind her brunette servant. "From what I can tell, he not onlly can turn invisible, but can also travel at high speeds and levitate light objects.....which is how it's so easy for him to be a criminal...." She ended the silient 'conversation' their and strode down the street with Lishell.

Raven had a bad feeling about this new person who gaurded their mind so secratively. No matter who's side they were on, Raven was relieved when she turned to leave. If it had turned out they were on differen't sides, as Raven suspected they might be soon, Raven didn't want to be fighting Angel. Too powerful.
She was, however, thankful, when telepathically, Angel told her of the criminal's powers. Nodding her thanks, Raven turned back to Gambit, calling to him across the street.
"Our criminal's a petty telepath, speedster, and invisible. I'll see if I can't track him."
Closing her eyes, Raven saught out the thief's telepathy. Being so minimal, the heroin almost missed it, but there was just a tiny bit that she caught.
"There!" She called to the mutant in the trench coat, "By the bank moving northwest!"

Gambit spent a few moments straightening himself out. He took none too kindly to being suspended in the air like a yo-yo. That was one way to get on the Cajuns nerves.
"Hello Red", he said with a grin as he approached the two women who were concentrating quite hard. This wasn't a big bust for Gambit, just a little cat amd mouse game. The two spent the next few moments babbling about things that Gambit did not care enough to pay much attention to. He examined the knife that he had retrieved for a few seconds before Raven addressed him.
"Oui, mon petite!", he shouted as he prepared for a little action at last. He lifted an Ace playing card from the pocket of his trench and held it up, his arm in a right angle.
"Now you see..", he said with a tiny giggle. Within seconds the card burned a bright red, brightly colored energy jetting off of the paper. With a sudden sharp movement he flung the card at the fleeing thief. "Hold on den!", he said as the card went soaring throught the air. It hit it's mark within seconds, blasting the surrounding of the running man, sending him through the air and then onto his face.
"Not bad, eh?"

"Nope." Raven said in respectful aknowlagement as she shook her head. "Not bad at all." She flew through the air towards where the thief lay, groaning, on the ground.
"Start talking." She droned, pulling his arms back tight against his spine. "Say something interesting and you might proove entertaining. And trust me, you would really rather I be entertained. Let's start with where you keep your spoils, shall we?"

((OOC: My, long post. I'll keep them shorter in future now I've made my entrance, though.)
Lupine sighed as he tracked the Heros, as they called themselves, to where they were holding the thief. It had been far too easy once he'd got into the city: he'd just sat fast and waited for the explosions. It was depressing how lacking in finesse these heros were. He was hoping for something at least a bit more sophisticated.
Lupine pressed himself onto the roof of the house he was watching the scene from. It was irritating to crease another suit, but most it would only get bloodstained eventually.
Honestly, the bill for new suits was extraordinary large. Silk cost a lot in these resource starved days.
Lupine carefully pressed his claw to his ear, activating his radio connection to his company. He would have preferred to bring along one of his Grey Corps. Squad, but that would have left too much messy evidence to clean up. Canada was too important a market for his company to lose: if they found out Grey Corps. was fighting against a Superhero who had refrained from joining the untouchables, the results would be damning for his profits.
"Get me what you know on Raven and Gambit's fighting styles. Be quick, please, since I'll most likely be fighting them soon. Check under files X and TT."
He cut off before any reply, not wanting the call to be intercepted. Soon he would have information on two of the three he would most likely be fighting: good odds.
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle. Lupine recited the text from the Art of War in his head. He would soon know the enemy, and he knew himself very well. Now was the time to strike, before he was detected.
Lupine stood up and jumped down from the roof, landing with a heavy thud to alert the heros to his presense. First, however, try and get these Heros to give him the thief of their own will.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. " The voice was suave and sophisticated, emerging from the long snout of a humanoid wolf. "I see you have apprehended a evildoer or petty criminal of some sort. Congratulations. However, I would like you to hand him over to me."
Lupine languidly held out a claw to the heros, as if asking they hand the thief over now.
That Raven is a telepath, so best tell the truth. "I have a company that is dedicated to helping Gotham." However, no need to tell her the methods I use. She is simply far too idealistic, despite herself, for that. "That man you have captured is of great value to me, my company and Gotham. I hope I do not need to say more: you are a Hero, or at least consider yourself one. Do the right thing here, could you." It was not a question nor a request.
Lupine stared at the assorted heros, waiting for their reaction. Subtly, he shifted his weight as to better enter a fight. Secretly, he was rather going to enjoy it if it came to a fight; it would be truly interesting to match himself against their varied fighting styles. They would be worthy opponents if he fought them. Not that he'd let that stop him killing them if events meant that needs must.
After all, it would simply be too inconvenient to leave them alive if he had the chance to kill them. That rather outweighed the price of a new suit.

A loud thump sounded behind Raven and she turned her head to see a humanoid wolf standing there, demanding the thief she had so recently captured. She listened to him say his piece in silence, the only sounds on the street coming from his mouth and the whimpers of her captive as she strained his arms behind his back. She had learned to be harsh in the war.
"The funny thing about the phrase, 'hero'" She started, just as languidly, without even turning to look at him. "Is that it's very controversial. A war hero to one, may be a bloodthirsty hun to another. History is full of such differences of openion. The only reason I might be called a hero, is because I did the right things for the right people, that's all there is to it. Therefor making me somewhat of a villain to those I faught. So you see, I really don't have any issue at all not being a hero in your eyes. In other words, No."
Mentally she prepared to create a telepathic wall, all but invisible to the normal eye, but strong enough to deflect the strongest attack, be it bodily or projectile.
"I would, however, be glad to let you have him, once I've finished with him."
She started to stand, pulling her captive up with her, he caught one sight of Lupine and moaned, Raven for her part rolled her eyes at his fear. Carrying the thief with her powers as if he were simply dead weight she started to walk down the street, never once having turned to look at him.
"By the way," She said as an afterthought. "Nice suit."

Lupine smiled slightly as Raven spoke: it was evident that she was intelligent, sarcastic and her dismissal of him had mildly amused him. Lupine gave her a sardonic bow to her back as she turned away.
"Madame Raven, I cannot see what you can do with that petty thief. Yes, you could put him in a prison where his skills will help nobody, and he will be out and stealing in a few years: all you will be doing is delaying the problem. Whereas with me he will be using his skills for the good of Gotham. I will not plead to your 'heroic' beliefs here: I am pleading to your morals. I presume you have some?" Lupine's eyebrow arched at this last statement.
Lupine looked more carefully at the way Raven was manhandling the thief. There was rather an edge in her manner there...
"However, if you wish to interrogate that man there, I believe I could help. He seems to be rather fearful of me." Lupine stood up, his face changed with a slightly bloodthirsty smile: the captured thief responded with an impeccably timed moan of fear. "I would like to try my hand at it: I need some relaxation after chasing this man into Canada. Even if it will ruin the suit you so kindly complimented."
