Watching as Remy threw the apple core away, landing right in the middle of the bin, not hitting any of the sides. She blinked; Shadowcat didn't realize how hard it was to not speak. At times like these, Gambit reminded her of a pirate. He seemed very nonchalant, which made her raise a brow. At least he wasn't littering.
As Laurie asked about the Avengers, Kitty zoned out, not listening. She wanted to create a whole new team-- one without any reputation at all. Anew-- to bring along some kind of peace. Fat chance, though. Letting a gentle sigh escape her lips, Shadowcat lightly brought over the peanut butter again and dipped another carrot in it, chewing boredly.
Once Remy said he may join, a hazel gaze pulled up to him. I wonder why he thinks that. She thought to herself, and pondered on the subject as she zoned out on Gambit and Wallflower. Her thoughts were interrupted when he brought up the X-Men, and Kitty mouthed a 'yeah!', not being able to hold back a large arm gesture, flinging her arm up in a victory pose. As if on reflex. Kitty slouched back down in her lip and continued to eat her carrot sticks.

Laurie had finally had enough, and she looked over at Kitty. "What about you?"she asked. "Would you join? It seems like the world needs teams, regardless of former alliances."
She blinked at her own words. Now that sounded all grown up and professional! And she'd even been able to look away from Gambit, even though he chucked an apple core in the trash with ease and not even having it bounce against the sides. She shot a look back at him, thinking he looked kind of like a pirate sitting there. She was glad he wasn't playing with his cards - she'd probably have backed out of the kitchen by now. If she could get herself to move. But as it was, she wanted Kitty to speak too. Kitty knew Laurie was afraid of Gambit, but Laurie was talking. She was even challenging right now.
"If I had better control over my powers," she added quietly, "I might even try."

Remy listened carefully as the two girls spoke. Well, as Laurie spoke. He smiled as she asked Kittys opinions on the situation, and he peered up at her with his scarlet eyes, also interested in hearing the response.
"You get better", Remy said with a nod as he turned his attention to Laurie. "We all bad with our powers at first..", he began to speak softer at the end of his sentence. He took a moment to consider his past, and wondered if he was anyone to offer up advice on proper usage of powers. He peered back out the windows, his red eyes glowing brightly for a moment.
He looked back between Laurie and Kitty, and then stopped at Laurie. "You should talk more often, cheri. You be making sense."
